- Regardless of how careful you are, there will always be times when a new driver update messes your PC. This is very often the case with GPU drivers. After updating to an unstable GPU driver, you might notice screen flickering or black screen issues. While uninstalling the GPU driver is the way to go about it, chances are it might not solve your issues.
This happens because the default uninstall tool still leaves behind a few files and registry entries. So when you install a stable driver on your PC, these leftover files will cause issues with the installation. This guide will show how to uninstall GPU drivers completely using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) software. So let’s get to it.

Pro tip - Hold shift and then use your mouse to reboot your computer from the start menu - will take you to the advanced startup without having to go to all the menus..

I'll do you one better to reach Safe Boot, Windows button+R, write msconfig and press Enter.
Go to boot, check Safe Mode Minimal. Apply, then reboot.
You can go to Msconfig by also using the search in the start menu it'll say System Configuration.
I love how he speaks slowly throughout the whole video and suddenly speeds up when saying that "ddu is very advanced tool and it can mess up your systembsbsbthings"

WHY would you let windows updates download the drivers? They are known to cause issues...
We can install it from nvidia app? The latest ones are best ?
Even better, from the manufacturer your device belongs to. They're particularly optimised for them, although there's generally no harm downloading them via Windows updates.@@mythicalgaming7341

AMD pushed an update that requires the latest version of win11. it completely broke my drivers, as im still on the previous known stable version of windows.
updating it to the new version did not help. so now here i am, having to do a clean install.

I upgraded my sons PC to a 3060 from a 2060. He's been getting stutters and rubberbanding in Fortnite. From my understanding, you didn't have to do DDU uninstalled when switching in Nvidia cards. Were you using Nvidia?

I was scared that it will remove ALL of my driver's, but it only removes the SELECTED ones. Used it to remove Intel GFX leftovers, but also found soundblaster driver left from my previous PC

I wanted it to delete my old nvidia drivers but it deleted my amd drivers instead, is this an issue or can I just reinstall the drivers?
Having an issue where when starting my pc its constant black screens, goes away and then happens once every couple hours of gaming. Also happens anytime I launch geforce experience (it's like 15 black screens before I can even use geforce experience) and I've done the ddu already.

You can set your pc to use its basic driver instead of the installed video driver via your device manager/graphic card. After a few seconds your video card isn‘t recognized anymore but you got visuals of course.
hi i try it on nividia gt 610 i was going to upgrade to rx 5600xt so I did try to clean driver with the ddu but when I try to reboot the computer the gt 610 I don't get any singe on screen it just like don't have GPU at all any solution can some on help note when I install the rx 5600xt it work just fine

One thing I have been curious about, do we install DDU in normal mode, or in safe mode? I understand making sure to have no internet and antivirus to avoid issues, but it's when to install DDU, mind you not where, I understand that, but when.
Just download it normally, the only time you should set it to Safe Mode is when you are now executing the DDU.
On the website it doesnt show the download option for me wondering if this is a new change or pc problem?

Since you won't change the SSD, you should run DDU. Drivers are saved in the SSD, and so you want to delete them. Of course, a full re-format of the SSD will do the same trick 👍
