I'm getting random black screens, too! sometimes while switching windows or exiting a game, or even while idling and all of a sudden my mouse freezes then black screens....
Did using ddu to fix your black screen issue fix the problem or are you still getting them. And if you found a good driver version that doesn’t cause black screens or other problems please let me know.

Just want to say thankyou so much for this guide. Alleviated anxieties about performing "resets" like this. Bought a new graphics card as mine was acting up on FFXIV (coming up 6 years old, might have been the issue). Store who installed it for me didnt perform a clean uninstall evidently, as I was having issues with youtube videos stuttering mouse cursor movement. Which eventually led to a greenscreen if chrome/edge were in hardware acceleration mode. Now youtube operates perfectly IN hardware acceleration mode like it did before 😊
The first time I watched this video was a few years ago when I swapped out my pair of Radeon VII's for a 3090. Now in 2024 I watched this so I could downgrade my drivers to run nvlink with the second 3090. You're a lifesaver 🙏

thanks to your guide, I managed to resolve my problem, bought a new rtx2060 to replace my 1050ti, installed it in but my second monitor couldnt be found, thought i had a faulty vga and intended to return it to the shop, but thought about improper driver installation so I found your video, now all work perfectly!

I had weird black boxes popping up in Diablo 2R, sometimes semi-transparent or straight solid. After using DDU and reinstalling drivers, everything works perfect again on my now 3-year-old EVGA 2080 ti, well a few days away from that mark. This video helped out so much. Thanks again.
Just want to let anyone trying this in 2025 know, heed the advice about creating backups before using DDU. I thought I'd be fine but I ended up having to reinstall windows / reset my C drive. Got everything back to normal, and on the plus side, the DDU driver uninstall and complete windows reset did seem to fix the gpu issue I was having. However, dont assume you'll be fine, make sure you have a backup ready! Odds are good that you'll be fine, but make your backup just in case!
My fri just sent me this because my rtx 2080 on low setting PUBG get only 40-80fps. After I follow your guide now I get 180-220FPS back. Thanks man you save my money again lol

Thanks for this! I've been using GeForce Experience to update my drivers but ever since the 461.40 RTX Game Ready Drivers my pc keeps messing up, games are lagging when quitting and I keep getting "chrome.exe unknown hard error" and other errors as well, now I updated again through GFE for the 461.92 release and the errors came back, so I just used this to reinstall my latest drivers and now it's back to normal again! Thanks! (never gonna update through GFE anymore)
Yeah,Lies of P was working perfectly on my PC.After the GFE Update, I started experiencing a lot of FPS drops. I hope it gets fixed, if it does, I will never use GFE again.

Mine is Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Turbo (Dual Ball, 8GB GDDR6 Memory). I have 2 choices - Asus web site download (for exactly my gfx card) OR should I delete it and install nVidia GeForce RTX 2080 (no Turbo, just SUPER as a choice)? Even both cards are nVidia's, this is Asus manufactured (just a bit worse than other manufacturer, according to reviews). What to do?

Appreciate the easy step by step! Been having issues with my rtx3080ti and games crashing. Tried lots of troubleshooting, none worked so far. Tried uninstalling drivers via windows and it wouldn’t remove for some reason, so I used this route. Hopefully this solves my problem! I really hope it isn’t a hardware issue
@@lurkinhehe unfortunately didn't fix my issue. It may actually be a hardware issue. I read that there were capacitor issues with an early run of 3080ti's. Luckily I should still be under warranty with my gpu so i'll be swapping mine out.
Maybe try a different PCI-E slot depending on how many you have/if you have a riser. I just fixed mine that way using DDU first. Also make sure your OS is all up to date and your motherboard as well.
I'm having some real issues. I tried doing everything you said and I'm still getting problems. All my games will crash eventually and my computer has been blue screening all day.

Hey there ! In the more recent versions of DDU, there is a separate tab called "Intel Specific Options" at this stage 3:56. If I want to simply perform a clean uninstall and reinstallation of my Nvidia drivers, should this option be checked ? Please help.

Did it work? Games crashing for me to now that I just plugged in a 3080. Drivers are up to date.. gpu usage is low in games then it crashes

In task manager before using this my you usage was idle at 80-100% after following your steps I’m idle below 10% I think helped big time for me!
