I like that there are no side-to-side obstacle avoidance sensors. As a real estate photographer, sometimes I have to take off and land from cramped locations (out of public view - sometimes neighbors get upset when they see a drone flying around). When landing, I can crab sideways into my landing area without setting off the sensors and land without having to completely disable obstacle avoidance. And yes! In 2023 this is STILL a great value and the best choice for professional photography and video in my space.
@@scottyaaa They say that the Air 2S can fly 18.5 km on a single battery, and as far as 12 km from the controller. Personally, I cannot attest to this because I never fly very far. The drone is always within eyesight.
Thank you for this 'no-nonsense' detailed features review. I just skipped through 4 other channels' 'reviews' that drove me away with their attempts to create annoying Netflix dramas.
I just got this drone. I need to go fly it. LOL. Seems like a killer drone!! Hopefully I don't lose it like I did my mavic pro. May it RIP. Losing power at about 300 feet in the middle of a forest is no good.
I had this drone for like a month before I used it. I was scared it'd crash lol. I'm new to all this. Worked out pretty well. The obstacle avoidance system definitely saved it from crashing into trees. Good luck!
I made a huge error in judgement and crashed my Air 2 into swift river. I just replaced it with the 2S and it's significantly better primarily with the camera (as if the Air 2 wasn't enough). The upper sensor the 2S has may have prevented the crash with my Air 2. Nice video!
Saving starts now if I'm hoping to bring the Air 2S with me on my next travel! How good it must be to be able to fly this drone on picturesque locations!
I just bought the DJI mavic air to about 4 months ago. It was my first drone. I mostly got it for photography and found my pictures to not be what I bargained for. As soon as I unboxed 2S yesterday and put up in the sky I could see a difference immediately!! I have to say the differences between these drones on paper looks good but when you actually do a side-by-side comparison of the images afterwards it is just substantial how much better this one is especially if you're taking stills. That wanted sensor is perfect for doing photography! And not only that I did some video of my wife t-shirt business As We Lay them out on the ground and we did an advertisement in the clarity is just superb. The only problem is that I'm having is with both drones not going past about 3,000 feet. I live in the United States and I've tried every single setting period from automatic to 2.4 gigahertz to 5.8 gigahertz manual
All DJI drones are programed with max flight height of 500m from take off, including the FPV, regardless the drones are capable of flying much higher, DJI does not want you hit anything up in the sky. Legally speaking tho, in most situations you are not suppose to fly higher than 122m.
IMO, you and one other Tuber do the best drone reviews. You’re informative, concise and comprehensive enough for a non-techie guy like me, thanks Jeven.
The units you refer to as Mega BYTES per second is actually Mega BITS per second. 1 BYTE = 7 or 8 BITS depending on hardware & engineering. A MEGABYTE is 7-8x larger than a MEGABIT. When looking at abbreviations...the BYTE gets an uppercase B whereas the BIT gets a lowercase b. MB/s vs Mb/s. Big difference.
Your videos look amazing! One note for you: it's megaBITS per second, not megabytes. They're two completely different measures. A lowercase b as in Mbps is bits; an uppercase B would be MBps as in megabytes but that's rarely if ever used. You'd more commonly see MB as an abbreviation for MegaBytes without the "per second" attached. Summary: Mbps is megabits per second.
would love to see DJI bring into their controller lines some type of control lock for when your alone trying to get a shot and just need to pocket the controller or put it into your bag
Thanks Jeven, really appreciate your in-depth content. It inspired me to buy a DJI Air 2 for work, I own a real estate firm. This drone definitely was a step up . Thanks Bro👍🏿
The flying characteristics out of the box are amazing. Sensors? I don't use them because in general they hinder flight and I also shut off the volume so that I and anyone else around me don't have to listen to beep, beep, beep, beep.... The only time I would use the sensors is if I ever used an intelligent mode.
Not in the least bit excited for the 2S but way more excited to consider a DJI Pocket 3 with a 1 inch sensor since DJI tends to pair them together and leap frog them. In the order of Mavic Air/OSMO Pocket, Air 2/Pocket2. So lets hope for 2S/Pocket 3 to continue the tradition of sharing the same sensor. And with that Moaz screen competition, lets see if DJI will use that accessory port to include a flippy screen and a 1 inch sensor!!!!
If it only had sensors on the sides i will definitely buy it! It something that i really want in this drones! You worry less about crashing and avoid reapairs
I almost hit the add to cart on this drone, everything look great so far with this drone with 1" CMOS 20MP sensor, new OcuSync (2.4/5.8GHz), etc. except for the active tracking - sensing system failed! I was waiting for this drone for my biking but after watching the test run by DC Rainmaker, I therefore conclude that Skydio still the best in market for obstacle avoidance technology.

data transfer rates are measured in "bits." It should be megabits per second. megabytes would be insane rate but that's a storage unit.
