Fantastic question Sinni89. Although it's important to be able to execute each technique, it's how you use them together that will make your scratching interesting, musical, and your own style. There's infinite ways for a turntablist to express themselves over a beat, in the same way a rapper can with words. Remember, scratching is a language and any language takes practice to become fluent. I'm trying to give everyone a headstart in my tutorials by showing the techniques...
I love the way you explain your tutorials. the fact that you use one record or drop helps out a lot you have no idea. I searched all over to find good tutorials. Veiwing you tutorials steped up man Djing skills!
The record may need a little nudge forward when you're cutting really fast to counter the momentum of being span backwards. You hand also needs to stay on the record until it is ready to play forwards, otherwise it will carry on spinning backwards longer than you want it to. Try not to push the record too hard or the sound will be sped up and sound distorted. With practice, you'll find the right amount of force to use. Remember, when you're cutting fast, the record is being pulled backwards
Ive never seen a video on youtube thats made the processes of scratching so clear to me :) The combinations section is a stroke of genius with the titles. Ive always been completely clueless when it comes to scratching but youve given me the confidfence and the clear knowledge of what you need to do to actually make me think I can do this :) THANKYOU :)
i have been a turntablist for a while and i still find tutorials like this helpfull. i just like watching other expierienced dj's explain this stuff. i can't wait till you get to beat jugglin'
Thank you!! I'm just starting and your way of explaining makes it SO EASIER! First of your videos that I'm watching, old one with that, but definitely will go through others :)
DJ Angelo Just want to say thank you so much for making these vids available. I've started on my scratch journey and been learning alot from your tutorials. Mad Respect for you making this available to help others. Thank you!
These tutorials are really helping me lay proper solid foundations. I refuse to move on to the next lesson until I know and feel I have grasped the one that came before it regardless of how long it takes to practise it. 6th Aug 2023. Thanks for these Tutorials @DJAngelo

I have to agree with others, your tutorials are very systematic, effective and easy to understand. You did a great job man! DVD would probably be a good idea, although I wouldnt buy it since the videos are available for free on youtube :P I wish you a lot of succes in life and thank you sincerely.

Great tutorials. Best ever, its so amazing seeing the building blocks of a scratch technique & then you get to hear what it becomes when built on! No turntables yet though but i guess the Numark HDXs will suffice? nice one!
DjAngelo, thank you so much for sharing with us the things you know. Your tutorials are well done and very understandable. Keep on because at least some of us will watch them all for shore(and i'm not even a hip hop dj). By the way, could you tell me the name of the song and artist that you are scratching to? Because you use some cool, deep and smooth sounds(the only kind of hip hop i like). Thank you again and stay well.PEACE
DJAngelo, thanks for the vids they are really useful. Do you recommend practising the different scratch techniques while consciously thinking about what combination of techniques you use (like at 7:07 in this vid)? Or just freestyle and see what you come up with?
Hey man, thx to all of that massive information. Only thing I missed is, u said you use your record hand for scratching. But do I use my dominant hand in the cross fader or on the record, like I'm right handed person Cheers man
Great video man, thanks for the help. Was wondering if you have any other lessons to learn from, I'm very new at this, and need to learn for both my turntables, & my DJ Controller, as well. Big Ups, Respect, and Much Love homie..... :)
Thx for your vids, they are definitely very clear and helpful. I was wondering if you could comment on something. I have Vestax PDX-300 TTs. When I am cutting fast, I find that my platter doesn't get up to speed fast enough. I've since tried it on a friend's Technics 1200s and still the same problem. Am I supposed to give the platter a little quick nudge with my finger to help it spin forward? Thanks!
@DJAngeloUK dis refers to tut1but focusing on ya markers on the records help alot in precision cutting.....man you one bad mama jama...thanks teach..fo learnin me...I 've been practicing wit yo tuts for 4months and I;m still on 4tears cuz I;m being patient and really want to get da practice in for each one before moving forward..practice and enjoy..dats my model...thanks again dogy dog

Thx for your vids, they are definitely very clear and helpful. I was wondering if you could comment on something. I have Vestax PDX-300 TTs. Am I supposed to give the platter a little quick nudge with my finger to help it spin forward?
Thanks!
