I used to watch your videos back in 2018 or so, i didn't remember this channel but something popped in my head, glad to see that you're fine and still uploading videos.
Finally a good review on this cosmic, magic band. I stumbled upon them about a month ago on KEXP and fell in love at once! Everything about them is a total aesthetics: unusual outfits, stylish music videos, exquisite jewelry, mystyrious masks, even their moves and beautiful hands and fingers of all members and unearthly music of course - all fits tigether. I've never seen anything more beautiful and mesmerizing before. They capture all the senses at once, so I want not only to listen to them but to watch as well. They immediately became my new fav band. I dream to get on their live perfomance, though it will be a big challenge for me, considering the fact I am in the country under strict Western sanctions and I have noone to go with by now:(
Discovered them just 2 days ago. Great great band! I really appreciate the fact that they focus completely on the music even "erasing" their identity with the mask. It's so noble and refreshing in these times when appearing is the most important thing. Another band that I'm obssesed with is Heartworms. Saw them live one month ago.I really recomand them. I'd suggest their single "Retributions of an awful life" as the song of the day
Hey Jarret Thank you for commenting on my record player unboxing video I appreciate it. pretty soon I'm gonna make a video of me testing records on it since in the video I didn't have the belt all the way over the gold pulley but the problem is fixed
Discovered them the just a couple of days ago. Bough both albums on vinyl in an instant. Did the same with Pure Reason Revolution’s latest release. Might be the album of the year for me.
Hey Jarret... thnks for the vid, you are so right..got all their vinyl myself.! ..like Khruangbins ... there is a difference, but also don't rule out the band BALTHVS , from Columbia... see them on UA-cam and you will know .. 😊🙏🏻🤗... what a night will that be when all three would play in one venue.. 😁🙌. ..saw khruangbin already live and going to see BALTHVS in Amsterdam.....waiting for Glass Beams in the future... 🤗🙏🏻 keep the psycho-indian-columbian-thai vibe alive ! 👍🏻😎 Cheers Erik
Great review my friend. Always cool to find new bands. One thing I'll say towards the band, not you, their statement about why they cover the faces is a joke lol. As if 3 regular looking dude would draw MORE ATTENTION than the mask. The Earons started in in the 80s, Daft Punk took it on after, and they are trying to use it now. Which is fine, I just hate those kind of foolish lies. People will focus LESS on my face with a gold light fixer hanging off of it LOL!!!
I, for one like seeing the faces behind the voices when it comes to musicians. Those masks are interesting though, I guess it would be no different than KISS wearing their face paint or the Village People in their costumes.
Thank you for watching Mrhoffame! Yeah, I guess Earons, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, and SIA kinda started this trend of being anonymous musicians...they walked so Glass Beams could run, so to speak. But overall, yes, the quality of the music is most important. :)
That "anonymity" thing can work well. Those that can remember (or read a lot about rock history) will remember the "Led Zeppelin IV" album. After being slammed for years by the music critics who called them a "hype", Jimmy Page decided that their next album would not feature the band name anywhere on the album. In fact, it didn't even have the label's name or catalog number on it. Nothing at all, and it sold nearly half a million copies within the first week of its release, and went on to sell 25 million copies to date in the US alone. "Mystery", indeed.
I JUST HEARD " ONE RAGA TO THE DISCO " YEAH THAT MUSIC IS NOT FOR ME I CAN SEE WHO IT WOULD APPEAL BUT NOT FOR ME AT ALL I'D NEVER HEAR THAT AGAIN BUT THANKS FOR THE 411
If you dig masked musicians, you might also dig the German neo-classical composer and pianist Lambert. Like this band, no one knows what he really looks like, either. Peace.
Hey music fans, I want to recommend 2 vinyl releases to you. Medieval Death LP and free DVD and the Mordicus “Rights ‘n Trials” LP. If you want to know more Google [Medieval Death LP and free DVD + Mordicus “Rights ‘n Trials” LP], then check audio, videos etc. \m/
I am having a hard time seeing the similarity between Khruangbin and Glass Beams that people are seeing. Glass Beams is instrumental and much more eastern-influenced. I dont find Khruangin very psychedelic either.
Awesome finally have a song of they day thank you Jarrett,
Great to see you back making videos
Thank YOU for watching! More good stuff on the way!

Great recommendation, checked them out while working, reminds me of a more funky Mdou Moctar
Thanks for the heads up. I listened. Ehh I thought they were ok. I could take it in small doses. I need more meat to my music.
Check out Charanjit Singh - Synthesizing: Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat. Without doubt the root of all of this.
I'm glad you have your P.O. Box address linked in the description because I want to send you some records that I think you'll like

Had a listen, got a bit bored, turned it off, not my cup of tea I guess.
