    LP60XBT owner here. 3 years old now, working great. Fulfilled it's promise by upgrading the conical stylus with LP Gear's elliptical, specially made for turntables like this which is something people like Jarrett and Paul Rigby recommend. This Fluance is beautiful, it's got to be said. I think this is Jarrett's upgraded turntable after his built like a tank LP120. Thanks for the Christmas recommendations Jarrett, I see the LP60X and this Fluance always make your list, and for good reason.

    Please do a video just on the earth cable and options available to earth the turntable. I use a vintage amplifier which does have an earth terminal i can screw my cable into, unfortunately my modern audio technica LP120XUSB turntable cable has one of those 2 fork spade type connectors which is not compatible with the earth terminal on the back of my vintage amp. I have tried to connect it anyway but it doesn't work. I think the earth stopped working on this amp years ago. My work around is to occasionally touch the earth terminal to pipe work in my home or the screw holding the power face plate to the wall to cancel the buzz. If i leave the earth cable connected the buzz builds and builds. So i leave it disconnected until it starts to buzz which may take a few days, tap the terminal once or twice on a pipe or the face plate screw, and it cancels the buzz
    I know this sounds ridiculous, im 55 and have always had a turntable all my life, but this crazy method does work, however I'd like a permanent less fussy solution.

    • @vinyleyezz
      @vinyleyezz  17 днів тому

      Hey Paul! Got your messages, thank you for your patience. You said you have the following setup: Fluance RT83, a Moukey Amp, and a Denon AVR 683 Receiver. The reason you're not hearing any sound coming out of your Denon receiver, is because there is no preamp in your setup. From what I've found online, The Moukey is a Stereo 2 Channel Amplifier, not a Preamp. So basically, you have 2 amps and no preamp in the setup. Also the Fluance RT83 doesn't come with a built-in preamp either, unless you buy one from them separately. So if you just swap the Moukey Amp, with a Simple Fluance PA10 Preamp, and then connect it to the LINE INPUT on your Denon Receiver, you'll be good to go! After that you'll hear the music loud and clear! Good luck!

    I just purchased the RT81. Not the +. Also I needed decent shelf speakers so picked up those as well. Although this is a lower model, I really have enjoyed it so far. It did not come with all those bells and whistles as the one here does. I’ve been having some issues with the tracking properly on certain albums. I did not know about aligning the needle cartridge so I will be on top of that today.

  • @Downhuman74

    Had my eye on one of these for a while but I'm just not a fan of belt drive. Too fussy, and I don't think it gives that much of an advantage over a proper direct drive when you take into account maintenance for the belt and such. Although, I do like that Fluance doesn't require you to reposition the belt to change speeds. I like that swanky acrylic platter on the 85, too. Basically it comes down to the cart, and that's what you're really paying for with the Fluance -- the VM95E with headshell is 100 dollars by itself so that should give a good idea of what you're getting. I had to take my 45 year-old Technics SL-1300 offline for some maintenance and upgrades and I chose the Audio-Technica AT-LP5X to replace it as my daily driver. A great deck and now I have something that will do easy vinyl rips if I want to.

  • @31cify
    @31cify 5 місяців тому

    I'me really digging the blue acrylic mat I replaced the felt with on my LP60X. I find there to be more clarity in sound. Bass, midrange and high frequencies all seem just that bit more pronounced and cleaner with the acrylic. Of course, this Fluance is a step above, but a lot of decent starter turntables always have a bit more capacity for making replacements to optimise performance, and the 60X is definitely one of them.
