Rave review compared to the way you roasted the Ride 17. Small tweaks can make a big difference. The Ride 18 will probably be among the most durable shoes in that category, too. The idea of no weirdness, nothing wrong with it, just gets out of the way, is underrated. Ironically, I keep grabbing the Superblast 1 lately for the same reason: comfortable, protective, no weirdness. Not particularly exciting but it gets the job done every day and it's reliable.
Hahaha yeah I was not a fan of that 17. I'm glad that superblast has become such a favorite for you - I know it was relegated to nursing only duty for a while there 😂
@@supwell Once I got my stamina back, I needed something reliable and protective to cover me for longer miles with more force going down. I've been wearing the Mach 6 for work lately because I had some foot pain and the medial support in that shoe helps.
I'm 6'6" 210lbs and got 600 miles out of my first pair of 17's. Picked up another on a black Fri sale. Are they the end all be all... No. For my HM training up to 15 miles, they work for my all my easier runs.
Saucony was my shoe starting in the 70s until skechers came out with hyperburst..that was a revelation of what a midsole can be..Saucony has always been quality and the uppers have always been comfortable..they never went into those plastic uppers like many have..until Saucony went with the new insoles I bought the last years close outs to get the insoles then gave away the shoes..they had the best insoles on the market for me..they did have a decent running shoe with the Axon but then discontinued it..be careful on the ice/snow..😊

Is this the same insole from the Triumph 21? So, the pwrun+ insole? Also: Superblast 1 or 2? My 1s are basically brand new. The 2 i got 2nd hand after supposedly just 2 treadmill runs and they sink in much more with my now fat 92kg. Wouldn't want the SB2 any "softer".
@@ramandas1929 I've heard multiple times by now that people put those insole in a "boring" shoe to make it better, for example into the Triumph 22. Those insoles should be easier to get seperately!
@ I found they really came alive after 30 miles, beaded TPU needs some break in typically. I have about 210 miles on my pair right now and they still feel great. I will say they never felt hot to me, but the other shoes in my rotation are the Vomero 17 and the Adizero SL2. Both of those have much less ventilation.
@@aprichman wow great info, guess I'll give them more miles then. The upper is vert comfy, just the harshness of the sole put me off... I'll have to hide my 1080s to give the ride 17 a chance haha I tried sl2s in the store, the midsole felt narrow to me... Haven't tried the vomero 17s
Also, if you’re a fan of the triumph 21, does it make sense to have that and the Ride 18? Basically same specs except one is 8mm one is 10mm but similar stacks and uppers?
Honestly I would prob use them both for the same type of runs - so not sure there's a place for both in the rotation. But after first run seems like it would be a great replacement
Way softer. Closest shoes I've found to endorphin shift 3 with the firm feel and rocker are the Kinvara pro and hoka Skyflow - Skyflow is prob the best replacement since it also has a lower drop
Not sure if it's the same category? But Ride 17 or the Vomero 17? Would use for daily runs and long runs. Have the Speed 4 for faster runs. Also have the Velocity nitro 3 as well, but that don't suit me super well. Lacking a bit of stability.
VN3 not stable enough? It is firm enough for me for my now fat 92kg and i think the outsole is also at least standard width. It is not super wide like a Superblast/Nimbus/Kayano and those other max stacked big boys.
@philipppuchner1115 Thanks, should have been clearer. VN3 is fine for me on shorter and faster runs. But want something a bit more stable on longer and slower runs.Great that they are working for you.
@@atlasthegracious Ok! :) Don't get the Nimbus 26 if you run on your forefoot. Hard slapping and very loud slapping noise what makes you feel if you are too stupid to run! I am not overexaggerating. For heelstrike, walking etc fine and super comfy shoe :) Since I switched from heelstrike (which in combination with soft high stacked shoes gave me meniscus problems) to forefoot strike (ideally i try to land more midfoot) i went from liking the Nimbus to absolutely hating the Nimbus and therefore sell it. If you plan going for he Nimbus 26, you may as well go for the Kayano 31 (or last model 30) since it is the same shoe and you don't notice much difference, but the Kayano has this anti pronation support IF you overly pronate so if your ankles go too much on the inside. if not, you do not realize that this is supposed to be a stability shoe. Anyway, both are big and clunky but very comfy :) Since here is winter I wouldn't want anything else than Pumagrip anyway, so all those other shoes are basically pointless. Also funny in the video that this Yowana guy seemed to never have seen snow or winter before in his life. But - i had to look up on google maps where this North Carolina is on the american continent - since North Carolina starts where Spain ends (from north to south), so basically, North Carolina is as south as Marokko is, it is no suprise to me. And now also his skin colour ;)
Love that same gum sole on the Triumph 21 RFG but it's slippy in the rain, as you say, so its a dry weather shoe only sadly. Its a shame but i probably have to avoid Saucony until they can improve their outsoles.
Canon rebel t6i with the stock lens for everything beside the running. For the running parts I just upgraded to GoPro hero 13 - used hero 8 up until about a month or two ago
As a runner this guy should know compounds of the foams by now. PwrRun+ feels firm but it's soft in the long run. Then the Fresh Foam which he loves so much feels soft but bottoms out in the long run big time. By the way people who review Nike's Invincible as performing shoes can't be taken seriously
One of the trade-offs for getting a review for nearly every shoe coming out is that we don't always get a lifetime mileage update, especially if he doesn't love the shoe. However, I'd say he easily knows as much or more about the foams than any other reviewer I've seen (and isn't afraid to call out the marketing jargon if the product is subpar). Go Slugs
If you think the Nike Invincible isn't a performance shoe then I'm not sure if you can be taken seriously. It has been one of my favorite shoes of the last year, my favorite being the Invincible 1.
