The idea of a hybrid drone is to multiply its flight time. 20 litres of gasoline provides a full day of flight time, it would require 160kg of LiPo batteries to achieve the same.

Also CO2-neutral synthetic fuels are coming that will make it less of an issue in the future.

@@avartek6314 --- not to mention that lifting 160kg of LiPo batteries off the ground is very difficult and greatly reduces flight times
