    you did a very nice thing , which almost all ignore or do not do is,,,, that you have shown what are you up to, what finally you are going to do so that we do not have to see blindly what is happening and what is going to be the end result. That's really a very welcome thing.. And Nice workmanship and very skilled job.. AND.. THANKS FOR NO MUSIC

    Your attention to detail is amazing. Congratulations! I want to upholster my car headliner and pillars with alcantara and these videos helped me understand that there's need for patience and it's better to work in small batches rather than try to do a whole piece at once. Thank you!

      +Almehdi Maceraty You guessed right...much of this knowledge is priceless despite of being mute videos. Hopefully, in a month at most we will have ready for sale the first course of a series related to how to leather-wrap steering-wheels...English spoken, HD videos, no texts on screen...it will be displayed on a new website.

      yes, i can now open a shop in my country to earn much money after training a couple of months on your videos ! of course am not going to do that because it will need a big change in my life/plans, but it can be useful to make my own car looks sophisticated, or even omeone's close to me.
      mute videos are most demanded for me, i always try to skip several minuts in very long videos where the maker is explaining as much as the viewer would look stupid.. timelaps/muted videos are the best if you ask me.. but i do support you if planning any new ideas and technics, and projects too, good luck :)

    Cesar......I pull my hat and bow....wow !!!!! Very nice super clean work, super precise stitching....you are a man of detail and precision. Great work, not sure about the color choice, but that is of course customer related. I have tried my hand on some foam stitching and very, very simple upholstery....unfortunately I sold my ADLER 267, so all I got now is my ADLER 105-64 for my Holster and Belt work I do......Love your work and your eye for detail, wow !! Thanks for this video!!!

    Muchas felicidades también para su hijo por las magníficas tomas que hace con la cámara de vídeo. Es muy difícil obtener tomas perfectas cuando otra persona está trabajando y él siempre lo consigue. Gracias a su profesionalidad con la cámara estos tutoriales son inmensamente útiles ;-)

      hola cesar..soy muy curioso y manual se manejar la maquina de coser y coser a mano, en mi colegio hace ya mucho tiempo lo aprendi y me gusta hacer cosas diferentes..... la pregunta es ..... como se puede sacar un molde para un tablero completo de una camionetica vieja que tengo... es de muchos cortes rectos....puede ser unos tips... gracias.....esas perillas par la palanca de cambios esta espectacular...me he visto los dos de la perilla y el de la palanca de freno jejejej llevo mis o
      horitas viendo tu trabajo

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 років тому

      Creo que para sacar ese molde vas a tener que usar 'vinil estirable' para poder dar forma a las partes redondeadas(puntos de pegamento amarillo hacen que el molde permanezca en su lugar)...en las partes planas no será necesario estirar...poner marquitas que sirven para igualar las piezas a la hora de coser...puedes hilvanar con grapas delgadas o costuras a mano en esos puntos.
      En este video apliqué el método en unas coderas: min 2:03 a 3:06

    Hello, I enjoy your videos and have a question about applying vinyl to abs panels. I restored a 1955 f100 truck with modern 1996 police interceptor drive train. I purchased a nice interior abs molded kit for headliner , rear panels and door panels. I installed the vinyl to match the leather on the seats I plan to recover. but the glue turned loose and came off the abs. I used high quality 3m spray adhesive. I have done upholstery work for years but never on abs. what do you suggest I need to prep the abs with? Thanks so much! and thanks for all the videos. David

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 років тому

      Hello David, I've realized most of 'glue sprayers' are not strong enough. It's different the spraying of 'yellow glue' applied by a 'spraying gun' and air compressor or by hand with a brush.
      TBH I do not have experience on abs plastics. But I could give an idea to improve the adherence of glue product. I have used a trick on another projects.
      It consists in applying a coat of glue as a 'primer' and let it dry hard for one day...then, I could proceed to stick the vinyl the readitional way we know.
      I think the main idea to solve this issue is 'prepare' the surface of that 'slippery/oily plastic'. There are products used as 'primers' to paint cars/plastics which could help to 'prepare' the surface and get a better adherence.
      It would be advisable to practice on small areas to be sure.
      I've heard about 'yellow glues' in USA some upholsterers use:
      www.dap.com/dap-products-ph/weldwood-landau-top-trim-high-heat-resistant-contact-cement/
      angelusdirect.com/products/all-purpose-shoe-cement
      www.ebay.es/itm/Petronios-Master-All-Purpose-Cement-Glue-Shoe-Repair-Adhesive-Glue-4-oz-/112032405167
      www.homedepot.com/p/DAP-Weldwood-32-fl-oz-Original-Contact-Cement-00272/100125525
      Hope it helps,
      Cesar

    • @davidkrebs6195
      @davidkrebs6195 8 років тому

      Thanks. I spray cars and have a plastic adhesive promoter but I was concerned about the adhesive for the vinyl holding to it. I also found spray paint made to adhere to plastics and thought that may be a good base. Believe it or not it is a latex paint for vinyl siding. It's a little rough as it's satin. And it sticks to the spray shield and siding so well I had to sand it off. Thanks for the advise. I'm a JW and do volunteer work after retirement so I don't want to spend a lot of money on a sewing machine. Walking foot machines are hard to find used in a price range I can afford. Thanks

      David Krebs hello i know ita late but from experience, the surface needs to be prepped a much as much as possible in order to adhere to abs. I mean like not "light" sanding but heavy scoring and scratches is the only way. At least that's what we used to do and it helped. Keep up your service brother!

    Great job. Could you please tell us what material you used to make the small door panel.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 років тому

      I used a 'hard cardboard' as a base and a softer/ thinner one on top to form the reliefs...besides, I added some 'eva foam' to give the 'softy touch'.
      BTW, these products are shoemaker's supplies.

      +ТВВ ТВВ Thanks for appreciating my job! ...Interesting question! ...In fact, the 'real door panel' was glued all over (black leather) its surface to help give the shape it has...except the texturized grey panel. I'd like to add that the 'yellow glue' I use is a 'solvent based glue' and it sticks very hard when it dries.

Perfectly understood in ALL 54 countries!! Even your dog in the background can be perfectly understood by all. Until you finally fed him or her. Gotta love this. I just try to do my best and inspire some other people to perform this beautiful craft... Hopefully, I would like to have the full of knowledge trajectory acquired through the years you already have.
      Regarding your question, different trade marks, here in Mexico 2000, 5000, 3080 and weldwood from Home Depot also used to stick formica.
      As you are in USA, please, check:

    thanks for sharing the video.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 років тому +3

      For the real big MBenz panel I only used automotive leather(basket weaved design in grey and embossed grain black) 'yellow glue', and thick polyester threads as decorative. I just used the same pad the panel has...I only cut the pad to the botton on the 'low relief strip' where the joint was glued down.
      It is advisable to glue up the whole area of the panel to leather material.
      For the small samples, they were made from scratch. I used a hard cardboard as a base, then for the high and low reliefs some thinner and softer cardboard(insole cardboard shoemakers use) and an addition of 'eva material' as a pad to add more softness to the touch; and of course leather material and yellow glue.
