    Hi Timmy! My husband and i are Seniors who really enjoy your videos! As a Mom this video had me really worried about your safety. Thank God you finally arrived at your cabin. We have some thoughts that would be helpful:
    Please show viewers on a map where you are going, especially these remote places. 2nd- please tell us what time of day it is and temperature throughout the video. 3rd-please make a video of this same route in the summer so we can see the terrain in clear weather.
    4th- Thank you for your videos in Alaska. My father was stationed in Anchorage on his last tour in the military. He was a big hunter and outdoor guy and would have enjoyed your videos. Sadly he passed away in 2014 but is buried in Arlington National Cemetery as a war hero. My sisters and I went to Anchorage in 1971 and is was amazing.
    Thank you again. I can see you work very hard and are extremely smart and skilled in your survival knowledge. God Bless you. Please be careful.

    The transmission in your truck is a E40D. There are 4 gears and a locking torque converter. The brake light switch sends a signal to the trans so that it knows to release the converter. You're still in top gear (4th - Overdrive) but with the converter unlocked, it's just working like an old school trans, that didn't have a locking converter. The trans will run warmer (no problem in Alaska, not even in summer) but it will run higher rpms and use more fuel. It was well worth the effort to fix your short in the trailer wiring right then anyway, just so you didn't use more fuel than you needed... and had working brake lights for traffic.
    The chainsaw is running good, but you should carry a small screwdriver with you along with the bar wrench, so you make adjustments to the carb on the fly.
    Here, all you had to do was turn the I screw (idle) up, just a touch and it would have stayed running once started. (The I screw, unlike the other two, doesn't effect the air/ fuel mixture, so you don't have to worry about harming anything, if your unsure what your doing.)

      @@mohunter68 He said it wasn't going into 5th gear. A common misconception of a torque converter not locking. Not everyone (most people) know the name of the transmissions in their vehicles. E (electronic) 4 (gears) OD (overdrive).
      And most people don't know the difference between a gear change and the lock up of the converter either. To most, it just feels like another gear (especially if it's got a shift kit in it, like I run in my diesel trucks, both w/ this trans.)

    • @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism
      @Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism 4 місяці тому +10

      @@gagegruenhagen4299 It would still be an E4OD (4R100 w/ mods to convert it back) - 4 speed trans w/ locking converter.
      The ZF-5 is a 5 speed that came in these trucks, but it's a manual trans.

    Can I give you a hint about your first aid kit? Borrow or buy a cheap vacuum sealer, and seal the contents in plastic bags (except a pair of cheap scissors, to cut the bags open). The bags will stay sealed indefinitely and the contents won't get wet even if the kit gets soaked.
    I’d use multiple small bags - one for gauze, tape, and bandages, one for ointments and creams, one for pills. That way you don't need to unseal the tape if all you need is a Benadryl or a couple of Aleve.

    The snowmobile has got to be one of the most abused machines on the planet. They are rode hard and put away wet and for the most part are left out side. But it never fails to amaze me that they will start up on just a few pulls on the rope. In the coldest weather and run like there’s no tomorrow.

    Why did it take so long to stumble on your channel Tim? It was challenging the past few years to find great entertainment which in my opinion has to be educational. This channel is an A+. One Bite does not give 10's s so to be fair and leave some room in case, I give your channel a 9.1/10. The world is changing for the better but slower than I anticipated. I thought the normies were not as in haze as I initially thought. Some predict that we may have another decade or so before an Awakening to what is really been going on vs the mainstream propaganda mind program to really hurt us all in the end. That program did not and will not succeed. We passed all of that years ago. We are in the transition and are on the correct timeline. This does not mean that we do not get one hell of a happy ride along this journey. Thank you for what you are doing. Pro Human future wins

    Awesome video as always Timmy. This is a epic adventure even if things don't work the way you plan you'll have a story for later around the campfire. Duck tape and zip ties can fix all most anything.

    Epic! One tool that may be worth carrying if the chainsaw gets finicky in cold weather is a silky saws katanaboy 500mm folding saw. I use one to cut down Christmas trees each year and it makes fairly quick work out of tree trunks and folds down to a pretty compact package.

    You two are a trip. Going up in the wilderness far from everything, but you both still need your fancy coffee and sandwiches. I look forward to seeing all of your new video's. No snow on the ground here Mn this winter and highs in 40's and 50's. So seeing all of this snow is nice...
