"I've already worked on making this not line up" ;-) Many people that sell on ebay have this down to an ART! And that's the way they sell them. Either that, or they are just so full of crud that there isn't a stop in the typewriter that is actually connecting metal to metal.
Yes, you are so right. I have had some questions that start with. They said the typewriter was adjusted, cleaned and in good working condition so why aren't the letters straight when I type upper and lower case letters together.
@@thevintagetype4358 Yup, I have had no complaints on any I've sold, but the way the mail treats them, I hold my breath every time. I actually have gotten a lot of very happy people saying it's nice to actually get what they paid for. ;-) And that particular adjustment is such a simple straightforward procedure on pretty much all the models I've worked on so far. When I started this I quickly came to the conclusion that you don't try to trouble shoot, and certainly not to adjust much of anything UNTIL you get the thing spotless, because that one procedure seems to take care of about 80-90% of the problems all by itself.

great explanation - Thanks
Always fun to watch
Thank you Andrew!

I can set the caps and figs fine, but my small letters are mis-aligned. How do I adjust the position of the small letters?
Hi Tom, can you send a picture or quick video so I can see what the problem is that you are having. Info@thevintagetype.com
