Lol, I've told you gonna like it. =) Totally worth of 2 years of constant suggesting =) Anyway, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Song of the year so far.
Its the soundtrack for it.
Glad to see that you stayed around, Mark! Awesome! 😀.
I loved the extreme death metal. I have to say though, that even though I love clean vocals, this somewhat set off my Power Metal detector. Still a great mix overall though. And that name - it took my memory right to Excaliber. I love that movie, I have to give them points just for the band name!
😀👍
I would recommend Hold your Children Close And Pray For Oblivion, Screaming Of The Unborn and More Of Fire than Blood
Great stuff!😆🤘
Yoooo. Anaal Nathrakh are absolute stalwarts of the British extreme metal scene how did you not know about them? I swear I held off suggesting them to you because I assumed you were all over them and didn't need introducing. Birmingham's finest. For like 20 years.
Dave Hunt is an absolute monster on vocals, he can go to all sort of extremes from Operatic to straight up gut wrenching squeals without effects laid on.
You could possibly say that they're a band that you listen to and instantly know it's Anaal Nathrakh just from the sound of the guitars. And I am absolutely fine with it, because the sound is perfect for me
So glad you did this. Now unfortunately you have to go through their entire back catalogue but damn you're going to enjoy it. Try "forging towards the sunset"
Ooh found a new band I wonder if they've done anything else. Wait 11 albums!
@@PNW "Eschaton" and "Hell Is Empty..." were the first albums by them that I heard, but you can't go wrong with any of their stuff really.
@@PNW well worth listening to studio and live versions of 'forging toward the sunset' back to back, just because the only difference is the balancing of levels of microphone on vocals. It's damned impressive watching the live version once you know the studio version.
Also, this is a relatively subtle song and message from them. 'On being a slave' is kinda the same message but without the hope or celebration of joy in this one. I'm not taking the piss either. As brick to the face as this song is, it's comparatively subtle and optimistic
@@matthewgodding777 Anything that ends with 'I'm not taking the piss' shows that you read that back to yourself and thought 'that doesn't sound right' 😁
"In the Constellation of the Black Widow" is still glorious.
Scary to think I've been listening to these for 20 years now. Even scarier to think they're still evolving and mutating. Wonderful.
I would recommend checking some of their older stuff, maybe 'in the constellation of the black widow'
You get a sub for that vicar joke alone 😂
Glad you enjoyed them. AN are probably my favourite metal band. The juxtaposition between extremity and melody is something that really does it for me, and I don't think there's a band that does it better. Also, well done for not being a hack and deliberately mispronouncing Anaal as anal. It's like every second video about them at this point.
It’s between this track and Humanity’s Last Breath Earthless for track of the year for me! Great react, gentlemen!
Great stuff. Got baited thinking there might be a new album for a second though.
There is a new album, it just isn't out yet, October 2nd
@@PNW Hooray for future me then!
I fucking love this band. Also check out More Of Fire than Blood from their 2009 album
They have more melodic songs aswell, obscene as cancer, forging towards the sunset, hold your Children Close and pray for oblivion amongst others. Im not that good with their older stuff though. Really looking forward to this album, his Cleans gets better and better!
I saw lots of big bands concerts but live you have to go to Nile , My Dying bride or this fucking guys.
It's beautiful, its ugly, it's simply the best and simultaneously the worst, and in its abhorrence to the rules of music, somehow perfection is produced. I tried to put it into words, I don't know if it was good enough though. I really dig this song, and band as a whole.
Emtonbed wolverine blues, see you next year
If you want to know why this band was going to top all extreme metal of all time, check this out: ua-cam.com/video/xX3Wa7RS3DQ/v-deo.html
