To be fair Quidd had just lost his stock so he was going to have respawn immunity, and the bomb can explode while she's holding it if it gets attacked so in that scenario it was probably smarter to throw it away instead of risking having it blow up while you're holding it. If I had to guess what Mute was trying to pull, I would say that he was probably looking for a Stitch.
Neither of the other replies are acknowledging that this was against Dabuz, so it's worth noting that gravitational pull exists. If Dabuz managed to get the bomb himself, that could've easily been a disaster for Muteace, so he wanted to play it a bit safer.
