The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1: • MIND-BLOWN!! Our First...
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: • One Hell of a Ride !!!...
The Hunger Games: • We Slept on this movie...
In the books, Katniss never wanted a relationship or children for fear of the Hunger Games. So her and Peeta having kids at the end is really significant. It meant she finally feels at peace
I am happy for her, to find peace after what she has been through
every girl says that n she a thot for kissing gale n Peeta da goat
@@Gdgoat222 She's not a thot for simply kissing 2 people she deeply cared for, now if she was sleeping with them then yeah.
@@XxXDestroyer in the context of the movie she’s a thot for that
@@Gdgoat222 She was selfish for that, and clearly confused. It's nothing I've heard anyone label someone a thot over lol.
Fun fact in the book Peeta makes Annie and Finnick's wedding cake!
i mean who else in 13 would even consider making a cake & it probably brought him comfort as the bakers boy
So something I missed my first time watching, Katniss tucked a nightlock pill in her chest piece before going to kill Coin. She fully intended to kill herself but Peeta knocked it from her before she was pulled away. It's such a subtle thing but I love the small detail.
ohh didn’t realize that either, going to have to go back and check !
RIP Finnick. He was my favorite character. I think in all of YA fiction, his death stuck with me the longest.
Him and Rue. Those deaths hit me so HARD.
omg yes!!! Finnick and Rues death definitely got me so madddd
the last chapter in the book explains why Katniss ultimately chose Peeta ... Suzanne Collins did such an amazing job with these books, but especially this ending ...
Peeta and I grow back together. There are still moments when he clutches the back of a chair and hangs on until the flashbacks are over. I wake screaming from nightmares of mutts and lost children. But his arms are there to comfort me. And eventually his lips. On the night I feel that thing again, the hunger that overtook me on the beach, I know this would have happened anyway. That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.
So after, when he whispers, “You love me. Real or not real?”
I tell him, “Real.”
ohhh yes that was beautiful 😢
making me cry @@Dai.Natreacts and I read the books a few times each (except the prequel)
Also, the epilogue made me cry when I first read it ...
They play in the Meadow. The dancing girl with the dark hair and blue eyes. The boy with blond curls and gray eyes, struggling to keep up with her on his chubby toddler legs. It took five, ten, fifteen years for me to agree. But Peeta wanted them so badly. When I first felt her stirring inside of me, I was consumed with a terror that felt as old as life itself. Only the joy of holding her in my arms could tame it. Carrying him was easier, but not much.
The questions are just beginning. The arenas have been completely destroyed, the memorials have been built, there are no more Hunger Games. But they still teach about them at school, and the girl knows we played a role in them. The boy will know in a few years. how can I tell them about that world without frightning them to death? My children, who take the words of the song for granted:
Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet snd tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
My children, who don't know they play on a graveyard.
Peeta says it will be okay. We have each other. And the book. We can make them understand in a way that will make them braver. But one day I'll have to explain about my nightmares. Why they came. Why they won't ever really go away. I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in anything because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years.
But there are much worse games to play.
🥹🥹🥹 ok i really need to read this book
I love you for putting this passage here 😭❤️
@@Dai.Natreacts best description of life with ptsd I've seen in a while.
Some people have already quoted the book that Gale and Katniss are both fire and I'd like to add something more to that. I read that the love triangle (as annoying as they tend to be) is a metaphor. Gale represents war and Peeta represents peace. Ultimately that's why she chooses him in the end.
Took 15 years for katniss to feel safe to have children. So they were in their 30s in that last scene. It's still not a happy ending. Peeta still deals with his flashbacks and katniss still deals with nightmares and the lost of her sister. But the ending is bittersweet cuz they survived together and can live in a different panem
omgggg he still has the flashbacks?!? damnnn
@@Dai.Natreacts yes, he never recovered from that. Katniss in the book said that he hold on to the back of the chair until the flashbacks are over.
(about effie) “she grew on me” you’re not the only one! effie actually isn’t in the mockingjay book at all until the very end when katniss sees her again and you learn she was imprisoned and presumably tortured. but effie was such a fan favorite character when the first one came out and after catching fire came out and elizabeth banks was absolutely stellar at the character, suzanne collins (the author) insisted on her being in mockingjay saying there’s no way that effie could not be in the last two films.
oh nice!! We didn’t like her at first 😭
@Dai.Natreacts many of us didn't but she grew on audiences when Catching Fire came out
It was Gale and that Scientist guy who came up with the idea to use those little bombs, and then when people came to help them, let off a lage bomb etc..
I wanted a happy ending for Finnick, so bad. He was always the one to step up and give his best when needed. Stuck being the capitols toy for a decade only to die horribly during a mission that ended in failure.
Omg yessss! Just got married, it wasn’t right !!!
I read hoe abused he was by the capitol since he was 15 right?? I heard He was being trafficked by them idk if I read that wrong
HIs death was quite sad, but.. "a mission that ended in failure"? Buh wha-?
The mission succeeded tho lol. They stopped the games and the capitols tyranny.
In the books, Johanna actually trained with Katniss to go fight too, but ended up not going due to her morphling addiction & PTSD. I get why they couldn't fit this storyline into the movie, but imo it's a good add to the story when you read the book + it adds to Katniss's and Johanna's bond. ☺️
yeah that would had been cool too add to the movie !!
I had to re-read the roundtable vote for the hunger games at the end like 3 times to understand why Katniss and Haymitch voted for the games. I think Coin was less obvious of a villain in the books.
Gale was designing those kinds of bombs...she counted on him to take care of Prim...the whole ordeal was to protect Prim....Katniss volunteering, all of it!
The fact that it took fifteen years for Katniss and Peeta to have a family of their own.
The trauma was real
smh that’s crazy, I can’t blame her though
I thought that the first time. Then realize they were 30ish years old. And that made me just remember how young they actually were in the hunger games… more so than it made me surprised at the fact that they waited 15 years.
@@vjones4769With all they went through, it's easy for me to forget they are only 16/17 going through all of this!! I can't imagine how my 16/17 year old self would have fared in their situation. They're just children at the forefront of a revolution! Putting all that into perspective, I'm not surprised they waited so long.
Gale killed Prim, once you see his true colors in this movie and go back and watch. You see all these red flags, Peeta was willing to give his life so katniss could be with gale. Peeta and katniss were always better for each other.
Finnick’s death in the book pissed me off just as much as the movie bc there was no time to mourn him. If i remember right, it was maybe three or four sentences covering his actual death. And it was arguably even more infuriating while reading because he had so much more depth in the books.
smh i can’t get over his death! still pissed off about it
The “You Were Right” vid after every time you were right cracks me up!!!
You know, I love Katniss and Peeta's relationship. They're truly the only ones who can fully understand each other and their trauma. It's a shame that even 15+ years later, Katniss is STILL having nightmares from The Games and the dead tributes she had to kill. Meanwhile, Peeta still has moments of trying to figure out what's real and what's not from The Capitol's torture on him. It's honestly very sad but the fact they have each other, they'll be alright. They're much stronger together. I'm glad they were able to find peace with each other and their children.
"They're all brainwashed to believe that where they live is the best of the best, and they're gonna fight for it." 😬 Sounds familiar.
WHAT an ending right?? A lot of horrible tragic things happened, but they created a bright future for all and ended a decades old reign of tyranny. A lot of emotion in this one lol so glad you guys loved the series!! Fun fact on the ending, the kids who played Katniss and Peetas children are actually Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) nephews in real life so the baby is extremely comfortable with her, such a cute lil baby with those chubby cheeks!! Looking forward to more content from you guys!! Have a great weekend :)
omg! so emotional!!! oh wooww!!! didn’t know that! That’s cool to put her nephews in there
Prim was a part of that medical team. She must have been acting as a medic there. Remember in one of the previous movies she said that District 13 accepted (?) her into studying to become a doctor?
Yeah, we know why she was there we were just in the moment and mad she was there with all that was going on
Yes but she was still to young to be out in the field she was put there to die! 😢
@@mistyb1183 Right!!!!
@@Dai.Natreacts part of the reason Katniss turns against Coin is that she realizes that to be on the front lines you had to be 14 and Prim was only 13 at the time which means that Coin had to authorize her to be there. Once Katniss realizes that she had heard the “bomb the children and then bomb the medics” plan from Gale earlier in the books/movies she realizes that Coin purposely used Gale’s plan to kill Prim and gain control. By killing Prim she killed Katniss’ motivation since everything she did was to protect Prim and now she’s gone so she has no meaning or drive to stand against Coin.
Prim was a trained as front line nurse, hence why she was a first response caller after the bombs went off 😢
I wish they'd found a way to kepp my favorite line from the book
"My children, who dont know they play on a graveyard."
ive erased finnick's death from my memory, in my reality he is still alive with his wife Annie and their son raising sheep on a lovely farm.
right !!!!!
Damn if y’all where directing the movie half the cast would be dead in the first few minutes lol.
I hate when my eyes just start burning out of the blue 😂 I always cry when Finnick dies.
😂😂 yesss i hate that part!!
also love pointing this out in case ppl miss it but after she shot coin katniss went to take the night lock pill she put in her suit but peeta knocked it out and saved her just like she did to him with the night lock berries in the first film
43:51 also Katniss saying “for prim” was a clue of what she was planning. Because it was Coin, not Snow. She only said yes because she knew in the end, it wouldn’t matter. I think she says yes to allow coin to trust her.. it’s been a bit since I’ve reread. I have read 3 times though, lol.
You two are a lovely couple! I enjoyed watching Hunger Games with you! Looking forward to more from you! Maze Runner maybe?
Thank you!! Yes, Maze Runner coming soon!
4:31 I wish bro. Because Katniss was basically trying to save Prim’s life, without even knowing she was. Stupid Gale. “I don’t know” yes you do gale. The WHOLE bomb idea was yours. Beetee just made it..
Edit: I’m just gonna clarify and say, he came up with the idea of a parachute bomb to trick people, and he also suggested the delayed 2nd bomb… he killed prim and had the nerve to say “I don’t know”. You do.
I love that in to book she explains that Gale has a "fire" in him and that's not what she needed because she has "fire" herself . And what she needed was that dandelion in the sun that was Peta. ..or something like that 😅 it's been years since I read it. Totally Loved it though ❤️🥺😢☺️
I have watched this movie so many times and never, until now, noticed that the mutts in the sewer where whispering Katniss's name. I feel like an idiot! I just always heard breathing.
😂😂
Finnick makes a good point about Annie. She didn't know what was real or imagined, so she asked. Good advice for Peeta.
I just want to note that Finnick saved ALL their lives while they were upstairs decompressing and drying off he was devoured 🤬
EXACTLY!!! Katniss literally looked at him climbing up the ladder, she definitely could had shot the arrow at the mutt that grabbed him it was only one at that time. She could had helped 😒
It happens differently in the books. Katniss doesn’t realize he’s not behind her until she’s at the top of the ladder. And she’s out of arrows Gale is injured, peeta doesn’t have a weapon. Finnick is being ripped apart so Katniss uses the Holo to blow him up before he’s tortured to death and to slow down the mutts.
@@jessicamedley3454 yeah I prefer the book version tbh. I feel like in the film versions it's like 'oh they all just kinda left him to fend for himself' but in the book version he's literally decapitated, and there was nothing any of them could do. Even though there are so many heartbreaking deaths in this series, Finnicks death has always got to me the most 💔
Tigress is someone's cousin. explains it in the prequel
0:03 I’m sitting here about to press play, and yall, I am PRAYING you don’t skip the end song. So many others do. It means so much..💔❤️
Edit: I’m HURT
Gale created bombs, but he didn't tell Coin to use them on penned-in civilians.
Why don't they put Snow and Coin in the hunger games instead of children/teens? Funny, that.
It happened to me, also. I love to read, but I thought the series was like a stupid Twilight series, so I never paid attention to it. My brother insisted and almost forced me to read the books, and boy, was I wrong. Great writing. The films made a bigger Gale and Peeta triangle issue than the books. Katniss was in survival mode 100% of the time. She was tough because she had to be the primary breadwinner in her family and was always thinking about how to protect the ones she cared about and survive. Love is a luxury that she can't afford in this environment and she spends no minute on it. The books are really harsh but beyond what I could have imagined. The films are one of the best adaptations I've seen, and I'm happy they took the series seriously and paid careful attention to detail.
Oh, the books are amazing. The story, the creativity of the author. Im a bookworm and im more of a english literature type of gal but these have to be in my top favs. The storyline, the characters, the settings, EVERYTHING took me in. And it has been one of the most impactful stories in my life bc even though it was fiction doesnt mean it cant exist. "These things happen in war" oh yes they do, the war with rights, the war for peace, world wars, slavery, the holocaust, drug cartel wars, North Korea regime, ukraine-russia war, etc. The games arent that fiction in a way. These things have happened in or out of war but especially in oppression of brutal tyranny. These books completely blew me away and changed my perspective and matured me. Which is odd bc during those times a lot of mature audiences slept on it bc they compared it to twilight with the whole love triangle thing, which was promoted so much for public popularity. I remember fangirling over josh hutcherson and everything but as i got older, i got to appreciate the story more for what it was. Completely different. And the first one was big but it still had a indie feel to it, kinda like twilight, like, experiment low budget-ish films. The first one did so great that they invested in the rest and thats why catching fire was waaaaaay different in cinematography. It was also mostly a young fanbase bc the main characters in the novels are teens and children too. The movies were made perfectly for the ones who read the books. For a while and to this day, people think its ridiculous when they say that their favorite books are the hunger games trilogy but bc they were and are so popular uh hell yeah as they should (theyre not mine but theyre up there). They actually arent that bad at all. The way it engulfs you into the story ugh it's so brilliant yet so tragic. That's why some people, after so many years, are still fans. Ive seen it rise in popularity lately, reaction channels reacting to it and im here for it. I CANT WAIT for the new series coming soon. There's so much i wanna know more in detail, how did it start, who started it and why did it lead to that. How are people desentisized. How is that the "norm". I NEED MOREEEE.
Anyways, xo. ❤
The baby was played by Jennifer's niece/nephew, I'm not sure about the older kid
Snow isn't their one enemy; their enemy is the system (which he helps to keep in place--although, honestly, he sabotages himself as much as anything).
In the book everything was fine they were all getting away from the mutts and they were on the letter when a month attacked Finnic, and basically bit his neck and Katniss killed him as a mercy kill, and it also killed all the months by using the hollow
That's Tigris snow .. snows cousin
You liked Gale, you were ok with him saying "is war" as an excuse to kill people who don't deserve it, you would've vote yes to the new Hunger Games with the capitol's children (wich is exactly how this all started)??? Ok......
And yes, it was actually Gale's idea to dobble bomb the capitol's children.
P.S. love your videos!!
No i wouldn’t want children to be involved they are innocent, but I would had LOVED to see the Capitol adults be in the hunger games 🤷🏻♀️ and thank you for the support!! ❤
Do the harry potter series
I've loved watching your reactions to this series. If any one of you are a reader, the books are awesome!
thank you !!
Really enjoyed your Hunger Games reactions. You guys should watch 'Maze Runner' & 'Lord of The Rings', both are based off of books as well
Thank you! Much appreciated!! Yes we have been getting Maze Runner Requests so that maybe just be the next film series we do for ya!
That kiss between Effie and Haymitch wasn't in the script. Noice reaction. I'd love to team up for a reaction.
I disagree with your take on Lieutenant Jackson - she was second-in-command to Boggs & their unit had been assigned a specific mission. She was just doing her job & after Boggs' untimely demise, she was responsible for their unit. Sure, pulling the gun on them may have seemed rash & threatening but it makes sense in the context. The reality is, if anything goes wrong, Jackson is the one who would have to answer to their superiors, assuming she even survived the ordeal.
Katniss was the one who decided to go rogue to kill Snow, deceiving the entire unit about her true intentions so she could get revenge on Snow (little did she know they already suspected). Which is understandable, & we as an audience are partial to Katniss as the ones who are witnessing her story, but it doesn't change the fact that Katniss knowingly dragged her unit into her revenge mission, risking the lives of her fellow soldiers in the process, which resulted in those specific casualties. Katniss should have transferred security clearance to Jackson but for the sake of the plot, that didn't happen.
But Lieutenant Jackson was a good soldier - despite all this, she remained clear-headed & rational. She also chose to put her ego aside for the sake of helping Katniss, despite knowing that Katniss lied to her face, remained loyal to her fellow soldiers & looked out for them as best she could under the circumstances, right up until her death. I doubt most people would be so generous under those circumstances.
Jackson wasn't the most prominent character but she was a real one like Boggs, Finnick, Cressida, Pollux & a few of the others. She was also a lot more empathetic, understanding, selfless & way less reckless than characters like Gale (who is one of the most unlikeable characters in the series imho).
#jacksondeservedbetter
We can agree with that. She was doing her job. With Boggs saying “don’t trust them”and her pulling out that gun we were looking at her sideways
@@Dai.Natreacts That is totally fair. I always attributed that line to Coin & the people in power but in a world like that, being suspicious of anyone & anything is very understandable, especially when they are new characters.
Yall should react to the trailers they were hella lit
Gale and the propaganda filmmaker would be interesting, actually.
you should react to the new Hunger Games movie! it's a prequel that follows a young Snow and it's very interesting!
Honestly would be okay with Katniss ending up with neither of them or both of them; I guess that's a little beyond YA, though.
That was a wild ride watching this with you! Now you’re ready for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, coming to theatres in November!
Yes we look forward to watching it!Glad you enjoys our reaction to this series !!
Wtf? Its was obvious that Pit didnt have reason to kill her after she killed Coin, on my memory you are first who talk about such strange theory)
Yeah, Finnick was rough. Prim too. Her death pissed me off when I read the book.
Peeta saving her from suicide after she kill Coin
That dust is sneaky. 😆
😂😂
Yall love these reviews! Please watch the new prequel that came out about Snow 😅
I needed to watch this! But since I'm in Brazil it's so late! I'll be watching it tomorrow though 😀
I would highly recommend reading the books there are way better than the movies and the movies are fantastic plus the books will answer your questions 😃
yesss I see! another commenter put a little snippet of the book and i’m just okay yes I need to read this!
@@Dai.Natreacts I promise you you will not be able to put them down even though you've already seen the movies

She sounded like that one character in Us for a minute there.
Finnick's death was trash, they could have helped him. It's straight up bullshit, you mean to tell me that no one could have stepped up to save him?
EXACTLY!!!!
Finnick was one of my most loved characters and I hate that he died in both the book and movie versions, but in the book it's done with a little more sense. He was decapitated and they couldn't do anything to save him, plus Katniss was kinda disorientated by the smell of the roses and she had no arrows left, Peeta had no weapon and Gale was injured. But in the movies it comes across like they kinda just left him to fend for himself whilst they are all catching their breaths which is just the worst because Finnick was such a great character with a genuine heart who would help anyone. He deserved his happy ending so much.
I finally got a chance to finish watching your reaction to the Hunger Games. You were sooooo crying Nat! Great reaction as usual. I saw that you are going to do LOR after Harry Potter. I'm so there for that!

37:53 President Coin sent Primrose in there to die because Primo was not old enough. She should’ve been still training.
thats not true, it was an unfortunate coincidence. prim would have been on the field as 13 would want as many medics as possible to tend to the rebels. the fact it was a coincidence speaks to gales indifference to civilian death. it makes his responsibility for prims death even more unbearable. he doesnt care if civilians get in the way, he believes they are just collateral damage, even prim.
@@bobatea5695 she had her killed so she can control Katniss
Great journey guys, what's next?
Thank you!! We haven been getting a lot of suggestion for Maze Runner so we are leaning towards that
Katniss has been in two Hunger Games (one when she was sixteen, I guess), which were annual events. And this war stuff should have taken awhile up to this point. She should be maybe eighteen by now?
Thx for the reaction
Annie, whom Finnick marries, was chosen by lot to go to the Hunger Games with the returning "victors," but her grandmother, another former champion, volunteered to go in her place. Finnick (as you saw) tried hard to take care of Mags until she sacrificed herself to the poison fog.
One of my favourite reactions of you guys! The 'Youre Right' fact and fiction clip after all the 'WRONG' last movie had me, once again, laughing. I kinda wish you guys continue that as a recurring thing its hilarious. Some fo the comments you makeare so hilarious lol, but too many to pick out! I love Nats imitation of flirting women she does hahah
Ik im late to this video but i noticed no one in the comments mentioned this. Philp hoffman died before the filming of this movie they used technology to inpose his face on another actor like they did with paul walker for the fast and furious movie
I love watching you guys are so entertaining!!
Thank you!! We are so glad you’re enjoying it!!

Yes OMG!!!! Knowing I got to wake up early ass in the morning… I’m watching yall before Im TKO
I think some times people forget that Katniss is like 16-17 through all this... while Gale is 18-19.. so as a grown man what he needs to do is just let Katniss go. Its clear that shes highly traumatized and STILL A YOUNG TEEN. I honestly don't blame Katniss for being confused. And honestly Gale was very butthurt. Damn near constantly. He should've picked himself up, realized Katniss is literally LEADING a revolution and shut up. Idk.. my feelings towards Gale are VERY aggressive. I find that man SO annoying. Katniss is literally running around helping EVERYONE and all Gale does is think about himself and pity himself.
One I thought I was the only one he was so manipulative like he knew she didn’t like/love him like that and would only show him love and the attention he wanted when he acted sad etc so it’s like sometimes he would purposely do it just to get a kiss or something and like they were legit in battle everyday and since her games and he always took everything about her and peeta to heart or mad everything about peeta to make her feel guilty it was so annoying he always complained or was to agressive for no reason I didn’t like him since the first movie from when he legit got upset about her doing whatever she had to do to servive I’m happy she pushed him out of her life cause he was always so angry and his anger turned him into exactly what he wanted to protect people from without realizing it
her sister was a medic thats why she went in bc even tho the rebels bombed them they still wanted to follow in with help
Those are Mutts. Prisoners they mutate into weapons.
Considering Peeta said on TV that he didn't have anyone so Katniss should be the one to live, I'm surprised his family was speaking to him.
His family was pretty abusive so while he cared for them, he knew where his priorities were
I did see some dust - I have that happen to me sometimes too…
I believe Effie isn't even in the last book as much as the movie. If possible if ya'll havent't seen Mazerunner please could yall check it out maybe?😎😎
yes we will !!

Thank you for bleeping out most of your swear words. It is appropriated. 😊
Sadly Katniss's friend Plutarch(a real Greek philosopher) with the red hair who left her the letter( Phillip Seymore Hoffman) Oscar winner for Best Actor for Capote died of a Heroin overdose during filming which is why you don't see him in Part 2 of Mockingjay. The hate you have for President Snow(Donald Sutherland) shows he did an excellent job. On the flip side, check out the Oscar winning film for Best Picture and Supporting Actor which he stars called Ordinary People which is AMAZING. His son is action tv/movie star Kiefer Sutherland from Stand by Me,The Lost Boys, and the tv series 24.
Oh nice, we will check those films out!
It’s called Mockingjay, not Mocking Bird😂
