    Even before this video i've noticed:
    before - i would yawn and "fatigue" quit often in the gym in the first 15 mins
    now (while taking PreJym) I don't yawn AT ALL... and before i know it, 2 hours have passed and i'm still killing it and want more, but reality hits me that i have to get home and prepare for work...
    after watching this video, it all makes sense to me now.

    Had life threatening severe insulin resistance due to a life time of eating almost only carbs and sugars (fruit, starches, breads, and limited amounts of refined sugary crap, and I stupidly did not question my diet until later into my twenties when I began to seriously research nutrition). If I eat an apple or banana (or worse, candy/cookies), all the energy in my body disappears and I feel like fainting (literally). My breathing slows down dramatically and heart rate increases, and I easily slip in and out of consciousness (my condition is a rare form, so I am not generalising this to others). It's a living hell. But if I eat meat, eggs, dairy, or unflavoured whey isolate, I feel perfectly fine. Combined with exercise and fasting, a high animal based diet (which, as you pointed out, includes leucine) helped put my insulin resistance into remission. So if you stop eating the real triggers of insulin résistance (or at least greatly minimize them), exercise, sleep properly, eat healthy, etc., then leucine should not (at least from my experience) make insulin resistance worse. Just my experience. Thanks Doc!

    5-6:00 min: Apparently it is correct that leucine taken before exercises are being used as fuel and hence spare our glycogen deposits. This concept makes exercises rather expensive and for the most of us (for whom economy is not unimportant) it clearly is not a proper concept.
    NB: I do believe there is a proper use of leucine in the reconstitutional phase after work out.

    L Leucine really does work. But I emplor you, do not take it right before a workout. You will be dragged, sluggish, and weak. That's what you will feel taking it right before a workout. After a workout is when you should take this supplement. Trust me, I've been taking it at various times to test for results. I'm telling you, after a workout is when you should take it, preferably mixed with a whey protein. You'll thank me later.

    You've got to get to the point and address the subject of leucine efficiently. I feel like addressing the criticism of other brands/companies vs bringing direct and useful information is low value. How many people care about the truth about Leucine vs some claim by a new company on the block? 14 mins is too long, you could have condensed this into 5 and instantly increased the value to your viewers. Love your products and I loved your workout plan on bodybuilding.

    well i also study biochemistry and the problem with branch chain amino acids is because they can block the tryptophan they can also cause depression because they take up tryptophans spot so the serotonin is lowered so its a double edge sword .you can either take branch chain amino acids and get good muscles and be a bit down or depressed or dont take it be happy but not get the muscle building benefits .if it was me wanting to build muscle id just eat eggs .eggs have certain acids that increase testosterone and build muscle faster than any supplement .eggs truly are the king of bodybuilding foods without eggs in your diet forget weight training thats how important eggs are i ate 3 eggs a day for 2 months and my testosterone actually doubled it was insane to see such a result from eggs alone.

    • @bryano2130
      @bryano2130 6 років тому +2

      Jason Thai BCAA's do cause the inhibition for tryptophan, yes. However, tryptophan and other alpha amino acids aren't the only ways to increase serotonin. Also, if you know biochemistry, you know that serotonin is very similar in structure to dopamine, which is very similar to norepinephrine. Stimulants, such as the caffeine in Jym pre will cause a spike in norepinephrine, which mixed with an intense workout, will increase dopamine as well. Given the similarities in these structures, they can be altered and sent through the same neurotransmitters as serotonin. Hence why Adderal is such a commonly used drug for depression instead of just SSRI's or SNRI's. Unfortunately, those spike cortisol, which WILL have an impact on muscle mass. If you're truly worried about serotonin reuptake, then when you finish at the gym, stay out in the sunlight for a good 20 minutes or so. Take your shake and glucose (I use gummy bears because of the protein per serving, and they're delicious) and go for a walk. Not only will the natural light increase serotonin production, but you're also further allowing the nutrition you just took in to go through your metabolic pathways. I walk my dogs every single time I get home, and just the consistency helps balance neurotransmitters and reduces cortisol dramatically. It's not intensive, so I'm not losing what I just worked for, and it feels great. Eggs are outstanding, but chances of them being the reason your testosterone was doubled its unlikely, unless you didn't eat fats whatsoever before. Remember, fats are crucial in hormonal production. Chances are, there was something else in your regiment that might have done so, such as hitting legs if you hadn't normally done that, or getting enough sleep, taking aspartemic acid, etc. Don't kick BCAA's to the curb, they're still very important for producing muscle mass and density, and there's many alternatives you can consider when worrying about your limbic pathways and endocrine system. Kudos for the improvement brother, may your goals come with many challenges, and each of them provide a learning experience.

    I get all of my protein from plants and dairy... I am ripped and lean as fuck. I don't care what anyone says, vegetarians can build amazing muscles. The secret: dairy. Milk is the highest natural source of leucine, not only that but the protein in milk breaks down into signalling peptides, which stimulate muscle-growth like none other! Milk is the most anabolic substance on Earth. Whole-milk and a low-fat starch-based diet to bulk... and skim-milk and a low-fat starch-based diet to cut... BOOM, you're golden boi!

Can anybody tell me if I’m really getting a lot of this from the L-Leucine(Vegan)? And what’s the deference between Animal and Vegan Leucine? And how do I no what to order what to call it to find Animal braised Leucine? Been using branched aminos for years now including L tyrosine NEVER experienced energy. Just incredible recovery and fastest muscle gain. L carnitine and L argenine is the only aminos that gives me incredible pump and energy and its dirt cheap for good quality too. I never buy these from GNC or in small expensive tubs. Even at 30 dollars it would be incredibly over priced.

  • @guydecervens
    @guydecervens 6 років тому +1

    You should buy your leucine from Europe. It's $50/Kg over here. I don't know how much you are taking for a 'serving' but $34 for twenty "servings' is stupid. Labs here recommend that you take 2-5g for 'acute' usage, so that 200 - 500 servings for $50 ; or $0.2 to $0.5 per serving if you are taking large amounts. I hardly think that a company charging $35 or $70 a tub for 20 servings of sugar and leucine will find that too expensive, especially since they will be buying in bulk and so getting it a lot cheaper than $50 per kilo.

    I really hope you reply or anyone because I have a presentation on Muscle protein synthesis in two days.. I just have one question.
    Glucose is the preferred energy source by the body, meaning if our bodies have a choice between using ketones and glucose, they'll go for glucose first.
    But the BCAA leucine is ketogenic as opposed to glucogenic.. Why would the body use those aminos that convert to ketones for energy before glycogen?

    I pay less than 70 for a pound of great quality pure branch chained aminos and lucine. None GMO no additives micro filtered if i want too. Last nearly half a year i take it 4 times a day. 60 bucks for just a month Lucien is deff taking advantage of the fitness community.

    Please develope some type of supplement geared toward the Military. Long missions, calorie burning during extreme ruck trails in Afghanistan or cold training in Alaska. Arctic MRE's are too carb high. Maybe a water mixable powder. Easy to consume and benefits the mission.
