    I'm curious about having to turn the bike on during the oil fill. I've never heard that before. When you look through the site glass after you ran the bike for a minute, the oil hasn't "gone down". You pumped the oil throughout the engine. You need to let the oil settle in the pan again to get an accurate reading so you don't overfill. Check the glass by taking the bike off the stand and stand it straight up.

      So when I first filled the oil without turning the bike on and running it, I had poured 2 bottles of oil (2quarts) into the fill tank. You can see in the video that the oil level was just right on the top line. The Ninja 500 oil tank holds 2.1 quarts. That’s why I ran the bike for a minute so the oil can be pumped throughout the engine and filter as well. Yes you are correct about needing to let the oil settle back down. I did not overfill it but the manual says, “Fill the engine up to the upper level line with good quality engine oil specified in the table.” Page 170

    Great video.
    Nice and simple.
    Just want your opinion.
    I am looking at getting the exact bike in white too.
    Do you think the 500 is to much power for a begginer never ridin a bike before ever?
    I was thinking about getting the yamaha r3 but i think it will get boring as I get better at riding.
    Also is there a way to increase the screen brightness?
    Do you have any problems with the screen in the sun? As in not being able to view it?

    • @Zankiz
      @Zankiz  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you for the feedback! The Ninja 500 is perfect for beginner riders. I’d get it over the R3. Although a lot of people I’ve seen upgrade within months of purchasing the Ninja 500 because they want more power. I got this bike instead of a bigger bike because it’s light, nimble, perfect for daily commuting and around the corners, insurance is cheap compared to 600ccs, and I also plan to track this bike in the future. I’ve never had any issues not being able to see the screen in the sun. The screen is bright.

      I too have the new 500 and it goes to 110mph very quick if you need to faster than that get a bigger bike.
      But your choice top speed vs cornering top speed.
      500 is very forgiving of bad line choices and I also feel safe knowing that I won't wreck from a false neutral.

      If you don't add oil to the filter before installing it'll take longer to prime the filter. Not exactly catastrophic failure inducing but why skip such a small step?

      @gunsnsails Місяць тому +1

      @@Qrides no worries. Real easy for both cars and motorcycles and trucks. As was mentioned before, make sure the little rubber gasket is lubricated so it doesn't stick or melt to the engine. Filling it up (half or all the way) just allows that filter to instantly prime itself and allow the oil to immediately start flowing through the engine.
