My Monsoon Engineer run crashed last night on wave 77. So sad but it has become a case of pinballing across the small bubble and watching everything explode at 15fps. So many red items thanks to the rusted key :)
Hey Woolie, do you feel like they have changed the difficulty scaling at all with this update? My friends and I have been having a harder time getting consistent runs ever since the DLC dropped
I feel like its not only the void doing more dps, fire takes three times longer to go away than usual, and sometimes it just keeps going till you die, some enemies feel a little strong like the new boss construct melts you if you're in his line of fire and don't have really strong item to kill him fast. Probably will be patched overtime with people's feedback
The main thing for me is I feel like I can’t find nearly as many as items as before but maybe that’s because I’ve been playing mostly railgunner with slower movement speed
ye, it feels like nobody tested shit. I can still get god runs but its way less frequent. I haven't gotten a single got run while playing with my friend in over 10 tries.
My very first Simulacrum run was with a Loader (cause she's bae) and I've gotten omega lucky with a Gasoline printer right off the bat. Then I found the Ignition Tank and everything was dying without me even touching anyone C: I've reached wave 51 and died to my own stupidity - there was a Malachite Alpha Construct lodged in between the wall and the floor and he was covered in spikes. I thought I'd punch him without actually touching those but got instagibbed.
Did a run last night with a friend, in the end we had so much stuff going on he was de-synced and behind by three waves when we finally decided to just die. It took him three minutes to 'die' and see the game ending screen after I had already 'lost the game'. It was very weird.
7:46 I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person thinking that Don't get me wrong the DLC is fantastic for so many reasons but in that current state of the Simulacrum, I don't really enjoy the mode that much, I wish we had the "struggling phase" way longer in that mode like in regular runs. That's definitely a very good addition to the game, but I feel like it's might get stale very quickly if the snowball is that strong everytime. anyway great video as usual (sorry if my english isn't that great, it's not my first language, still learning)
You get to what I personally consider to be the boring part of RoR2 really quick in this mode, where you just hold left click and circle strafe while jumping, waiting for the mass of particle effects in front of you to die down
Btw if anyone doesnt know, safer spaces when not activated couts as a debuff, so you can reset the cooldown on it with blast shower(i tried this in game and it works)
@@lesixX speaking of the coat. It doesnt stop afflictions from the tonic so i would say the raincoat is pretty lame. Its only truly good utility is malachites or however you write it.
@Blammo The issue with it is that it scales really bad due to making you a sitting duck whilst casting it. No amount of syngery can fix that over the escape button of alt R.
Imma be honest, I love the new dlc EXCEPT the fucking collapse debuff that can literally 3 tap you unless you have a raincoat. I've lost so many good runs because some voidtouched stone titan instantly gets me 3-4 stacks and bom, d e d please nerf :)

I did a run as merc last night for the simulacrum, got to 136 then the game softlocked me, said 2 enemies left and the markers for them were midair couldn't finish the wave, had to stand outside for like 5 minutes because the void clover maid a bunch of items into dios, which became void dios. Still got pretty far tho, the void glasses are actually overpowered.
Me and my buddies were doing this. I was running a wungus, n'k with a bunch of gasoline and funny green fire item. There were 57 leaf, icbm, and stuff but not the point. Everything died instantly every time

I made it to wave 99 and deliberately threw because I got bored. Was running power mode double nailgun mul-t with like 30 stacks of void glasses that I actually picked up on accident. Prior to that I was running a crit build but I didn't know what the void glasses actually were until I picked them up so woopsie-daisy. Eventually just started sprinting into corners to keep the wungus going with rack procs killing everything for me until I finally died at wave 99.
started a simulacrum run with acrid since hes busted on it and got 3 red items in a row by wave 60 where i called it quits i had a god build like 8 reds 4 yellows and hella other items that were god tier on acrid and by themselves
I got to 110 on my third run but i just suicide because i was getting too blinded by the explosions, shame that we cant just save and continue when the eyes stop bleeding
This update brought my new favourite combo, mercenary + hellfire tincture + gesture + ben's raincoat + ignition tank, you're literally a walking dissaster. You get no debuf's that you usually would, and you deal so much damage.
Plasma shrimp is literally broken for the engineer, I did a simulacrum run and I reached like wave 120 before I needed to go somewhere else. The chonky purple crabs are literally killed less than a second after they spawn. PS. I have a Benthic bloom too, and it gave me 7 fuckin Dios, 11 Desk plants and 6 Happiest Masks. I literally had more difficulty dying than staying alive lmao, I literally stay outside the sphere and I am outhealing the damage received (plus some topaz brooches) If I didn't need to go out of the house, I would have continued the run
with the streaming pc could you maybe record your sessions on the other pc without the music so you don't have to lose your mind editing? I know thats what Teo does, records game audio and voice separately
So... Woolie, I think I need your help with something! As far as I know, when you get 'too strong' for the game, it just stops summoning monsters. Yesterday I reached wave 50 and the game just stopped spawning creatures. I couldn't unlock the last survivor because of that! Today the same happened on wave 35. Maybe you can use your Mr. Stream powers to, maybe, suggest to Big Momma Hopoo to kinda... Change that? I dunno. Juuust saying. Throwing out on the wind, you know? Also, amazing content, as always. I could see you slowly dying on the inside on the first death.
@@goodtyme I got some super stupid runs. If you get the wumbus and you know how to move around, you can get WAY more items than you should have by that point. I love the mode, but I think some of the new items (Void ones especially) need some tuning, one alone is enough to break the game.
Wungus + Razor Wire makes this a joke. Or Engineer Bungus Razor Wire. Turns out the gas does lower damage then the monsters do. I actually almost made it to wave 100 on Monsoon but... well lets say the enemies decided to stop spawning and I was stuck there waiting forever. Made me realize that since this happens at high scaling or with swarms in the normal mode... it is a forced run killer when it inevitably happens in this mode.

I stopped playing Void Fiend just because if you get healing to survive in late game it feels like you lose half their kit and just get a subpar character with no good moves.

yeah its 100% WAY HARDER. Those jumping rats (Blind Vermin) that can spawn as early as stage 2 are so fast and the do SO MUCH DAMAGE its insane.

i had an insane loader run in simulacrum but had to end it at 104 because my pc would almost break every boss round

Had a similar setup, but after 60 waves it just for boring, so I quit. It's not like there's a top player list or anything like that

Usually it's because there's too much stuff that can't despawn. In my case, it was Ghor's Tome.

Nah there aren't enough abilities to pick, already unlocked the 3 new ones for Railgunner and the Void Boy doesn't have any alternative ones
