I can't believe it! This tune is in the Sher "World's Greatest Fake Book" and I taught it to my college jazz ensemble. We will be performing it in about 3 weeks. Four vocalists, 4 horns, 2 keyboards, and the rhythm section. And Herbie pulls it out last year in Brazil!!
Absolutely amazing beautiful and brother herb is one of the greatest still around. Meeting the man in real time real life was an excellent opportunity and moment in my life great great experience 👍
Herbie was playing by feel and wanted to loosen up things but the band let him down especially in the first 3 minutes. That's not to say they didn't play amazingly . . . It was just all in the wrong places 😞
Good times at São Paulo city. Great.
Justin Brown also plays w/ Thundercat
Cool seeing him with Hancock
Checking out this gem again after Anomalie did his own version of it. Herbie is 🔥🔥
LeverActionRadical, Anomalie's cover of this tune is what brought me to Herbie's incredible performance of this gem, live in Brasil! 😎
This is one of my favorite songs of all time...so sick...the arrangements and that bass line
Svp enregistrement Machine
That harmonica solo man... amazing
Try listening to "The Sail" with Gregoire Maret, this man! Only good stuff

He pulled it out last night in Dublin's National Concert Hall! What a night. He's still as good as ever.

The studio version, with James Levi, and Paul Jackson on bass, can't be touched. James Genus here though, is pretty damn good.
