@@ThunderMesaStudio hi dave. Loving the new railroad. But inspired by the old one! Adding the “Giant Canyon” or Cãnòn as it were on our railroad based on your techniques. So far so good. As it’s 1:20.3 scale it’s big. 5’x4’x12’ tall! But a mixture of sandstone cliff and pine forest.

Dave, I really like this style of video, working on multiple little projects at once. Really great editing and filming.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the long single build videos too but this was a nice change of pace. It’s coming together! We love to see it!

This has been great build more please. When that's finished and on display for all to see awesome. You are inspiring so many people to just have fun with a layout and enjoy the build. That is what in like to do come up with a story as I build it. See you next time and great hat and shirt you had on today.
    GOD BLESS 🚂💖👻💖🚂💖💀💖

Actually there were suspension bridges used for railroads, most notably the Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge. The suspension design is no longer used as they were expensive for the railroads to build and maintain, and have been replaced with other styles.

Is that a boatman or an escapee? Again great build. I thought of a detail. What about a reddish eyeball lens on the Porter's light? Something you can remove if you change locos.

    Dave,
    Great job.
The added stalagmites give the perception of teeth or fangs which distinctively adds to the horror.
An idea to add to the final phase. How about thin line black light paints to the rear walls of cadaver cavern. Based on the complimentary colors of the paint vs. lighting it would give the walls the look of marbleized vanes, blood flow, volcanic hot spot streams, and/or lighting bolts. The effect would depend on the mix of light & paint hues, as well as, the frequency of lighting flash, if any.
I'm awaiting the final tour of the river. I'm curious as to how the wakes work out. Or should it be a DEAD RIVER of the dead?????
For FULL DISCLOSURE I must admit I had to laugh😂 till I had to pee. The use of a casket crossing your river Sticks, instead of a classic Viking styled row boat, IS hysterical.😆😅🤣😭.
    Awaiting your next episode.

Your imagination and creativity is off the charts! I've been subscribed for a while now and this project is epic!
Yes, I don't think it really matters what kind or where you get your coffin. I've never heard anyone complain.
    Great job, Dave. Sensational work.

Dear Dave, very cool episode, love the caverns!
Did you have a UV light on the Gruesome Gulch layout, while you were adding the rocks and bridges? Almost seemed like the pink foam shone through the paint.
Anyway, love this entire project, very cool idea to this visual story. Cheerio

Dave, GG is coming along so nicely, well done! The more I see your videos the more I am impressed at how you so effectively "sell" the scenes. The ferry pilot is a fantastic touch. I would be nervous about riding across the river on top of a closed box though. Very unstable. If only there was a way to sit down inside ... ( I do appreciate that time for such flourishes is fast escaping though.) Again, thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks for sharing this video and the steps taken to create the world of Gruesome Gulch. Small question - did you ever consider adding the tree roots from the tree on the surface above the caverns? The roots logically should punch down into the caverns.

    Hi Dave
It is really coming together now glad to hear the finished (if these things ever are) layout will have coffin handles on it.
Suspension bridges have been used on the real railways so not such a leap into the unreal engine. Would the wire brush thing work for sand stone or lime stone type texture?. Yes adding paint does mess with the drying time as does PVA glue, but PVA glue mixed in seems to help with areas that are prone to cracking.
But given your layouts do get seen by the public on a regular basis that extended drying time could be a problem for you, given I have had dying times as long as a week for plaster with paint and PVA glue in it.
How do you manage to keep the work area so clean mine usually looks like a bomb hit it until I get around to cleaning things up.
I am wondering if a Charon like figure in a decrepit boat would have looked better than a skeleton on a coffin.
    regards John
