Best ever On30 channel. Bachmann is bringing the Heisler back, so after that news and watching your channel I am reinvigorated to make a small layout

The technique that you used to assemble the Tunnel portal is genius. I never thoug to assemble it on my drawing. If learned so much from your channel.

I found your channel last week while I was home sick. I haven’t been into model trains for many years, but your videos have inspired me to get back into the hobby. I appreciate your approach for using it as a means for “believable” storytelling instead of realistic operations.

Very nice Dave. I like the tip of setting the tunnel portal first. I did it opposit on my last layout and it was a pain to set them. I am building a new layout now so I will be trying your technique. Everytime I watch your videos I learn a little more.

Excellent! One detail suggestion. As you filled the retaining wall with rocks/gravel/dust, a little should fall directly on the track and shade it in a line across the track. Anything bigger than a pebble, they'll clean off but not gravel and dust so there should be a definite red stripe.

It's good to see ya Dave. I noticed you haven't had a couple of videos on the days you generally have them. Me and my wife were worried that something had happened to you. We really enjoy your videos and your funny personality.

For your wash, I've found that it works far better to use acrylic art inks rather than paint. It mixes with water a lot better and flows a lot more smoothly. You also don't need to worry about the wash "breaking" on you, and there's not the real risk of tide marks

It’s always such an inspiration to see an expert craftsman and artist like you at work! I’m also on the On30 railroading Facebook group - you may have seen some of my recent posts like my Banta wooden cab conversion of a Porter On30 0-4-2 of a few days ago. I only came into this hobby about two years ago - obviously lots to learn. My small “Black Dog Drift Mine” layout started just something that my young grandson could enjoy with me - but I soon became addicted. So a massive HUGE thanks to you for all you’ve done for this wonderful hobby; and for the tons of YT videos you’ve put out which have SO helped guide people like me in the right direction. I haven’t reached your high standards yet probably never will but this is my first ever railroad layout and I’m sure my working will become more refined over time - but HEY, it’s my railroad where “anything goes” is OK and I’m enjoying it. 🧨⛏🧨⛏🇬🇧🚂

Hiya, I had major surgery in February, and whilst I was stuck at home recovering, I was driven mad with pain and boredom....then I found your channel. I'm not really a model train enthusiast, but I do love a good diorama, and your approach to the scenery and buildings has been informative and inspiring. Thank you for helping me to remain sane while recovering 😊

Dave, are you incorporating this layout into the new Thunder Mesa, or is it a stand alone layout? As always still enjoying the videos, Thanks.

There’s just something about a D&RGW bumblebee rumbling through the red rocks of Arizona that feels both odd and right at the same time. But of course, THEY WERE GREEN (to those who know the memes).

Some sort of back curtain on rear of tunnel as it is too bright at the back. Maybe some one inch slightly over lapping cloth.

Nice to see another video, Dave, this is an interesting project, i really like the tunnel making process, i would use it on my layout, however all the layout sections and structures are now in a storage unit as i lost the lease on my shop.
Not fun but sometimes that's life. Hope to have a new location soon.
