People saying demons ….. really don’t understand, the amount of creative intelligence, as well as emotional intelligence people have can lead them down a negative thought train, that needs slowing down/blanking out. Drink and drugs are not the right things, but very unfortunately they work better than anything (short term) short term solution to a long term problem, but it gets you through a day.
Thanks for this upload. Surprised there's no comments. This is weird with Coxon as I remember some French show telling Peter obviously after this that Graham had referred to him as 'as a worthless junkie' Peter pulled off 'surprised but not bothered' look really well but you could tell it hurt him. I wonder if something was lost in translation or was there a story of a fall out after?🤔 this just brought it back to me. 2022 now, Peter off the gear, married and still making music. Love to see it.
I’m wondering.. and hoping that they meant BEFORE actually working with him. he seemed always fond of Peter after 2009. Genuinely hoping they got lost in translation, maybe even mixed people up on top of that 😮💨
@@SlavicRusa Yeah, that's where I'm confused..I'm a diehard Libs/Peter fan and I know Coxon worked with him on his first 'solo' album. I actually tried to find out afterwards but there seems to be no mention of it..(the French TV show where its said to him is definitely still up though..he was with the 'shambles at the time) kinda weird coming from a man that played on a song called "beetlebum" too...the English press especially treated Peter terribly..like far beyond being nasty..paying ppl to set him up and shit. I know he didn't help himself, but can you imagine that sort of shit going on now during this golden age of the 'mental health' get out clause..Peter (as I'm sure you know may have destroyed his mind and body for a long time but the eyes never lie and you could tell those digs hurt him) anyway it's great to see him return to form and some normalcy..will never not respect the man for his art
It’s underrated no doubt, up their with graham coxens solo record. As a forest record it’s an amazing bag of ideas (most songs) but the more finished songs are absolutely beautiful. Couldn’t think of a better producer for that job 👌 good call
Whoever said he was terrible? I've always thought he was incredible, even through all the media frenzy and the crazy years. As a person, a musician and a poet, I think he's utterly honest and open and himself. His music, his unique style may not be to everyone's taste but I love it
Fuck I hate sport bikes, I dont understand risking your life to travel on something that is imposible to look cool on, in fact the extreme antithesis of any conceivable pleasing asthetic. But its fast bro! 🤡
How many songs have you written mate? Could you get paid an enormous amount of money to reform an old band and do one performance for that cash? Pete is a very talented man who had drugs problems, I listened to his new stuff with Fredric Lo and it is really very good. It is eassy to criticise, but where are your talents?
This is my favourite album, played it to death, still love and listen to it to this day ❤❤❤
agreed, my favourite album of all time!
A Masterpiece
Can't help but to adore this man. New to me but embodies ALL the best rock I grew up with.
The man has his demons, don’t we all. He’s the kind of guy who will play outside a Greggs on a cold January morning for a coffee and a sausage roll❤👌
Aye, or wouldn't turn down Public (cash) donations, but he'd be strumming away & singing regardless the legend.
This man is a genius...
In my top 3 albums of all time
Awe, cheers 4 this. Utter genius Album eh + a 👍The Bracket is surely justified tbf the classic (❤️)
thank you so much for posting this!!

I'm glad you enjoyed this video! HIs solo album is among his best works and it was good to see him discuss it
I reckon it was a little bit lost in translation www.nme.com/news/music/pete-doherty-151-1320439 :)

His speaking voice is actually relaxing
Great Musician Pete
It’s still a fucking great record. As a first solo album is a fantastic bag of songs
Pete was super famous around the end of libertines /babyshambles followed all that plus I was on the smack then also 15 years clean now boom 💥
A great first debut record the lyrics w chord progressions are good Amy was supposed to be on 1939 returning

What a masterpiece
thanx for uploading this :)
Graham and Peter 💫
We need that Amy Winehouse Version of 1939!
I read in "A likely lad" he said the phone with the recording was lost 😔
tes paroles sont de purs rêves. D'étranges ombres scintillent dans un ciel nuageux
Siiick
Hes not terrible, not as bad as people let on
He’s incredible
He’s not horrible

Is it true pete stole the down payment money from other band members flat? That's why libertiens splitup
Keith Richard's son😂

Coxon is no where near .as real as peter . Good guitarist...so what
Are you referring to Graham Coxon?
arguably the most overrated artist of all time. Shame he did more varieties of drugs than he did musical chords.
I’m sorry you think that.
@@growlerthe2nd712 change my mind.
He’s cool, man, he knows what’s up
