What I’d like to know is where did he think he was going to go? When you decided to steal a construction truck with a sign attached to it, you were doomed.
Could have been worse. He could have stolen one of those vehicles from the airport that say FOLLOW ME on them.

I doubt he was going anywhere. The truck most likley had GPS in it so it would have been tracked anyway.
I be wondering the same thing when I see things like this happen. Most criminals nowadays be watching too many movies programmed in em since birth.

The problem is the store will be liable for injury. Yes, the shoplifter could sue the store for injury, worst if shoplifting is not proven. Give you an idea that bearcat fully equipped is about 27000 lbs designed with bulletproof glass and body, specifically for SWAT , and the truck is about 4000 lbs. That truck stood no chance.
Good thing the suspect tossed the gun before hand to get rid of evidence or else he might've shot the dog.

The Lenco Bearcat does have a definite advantage, but there's no need to exaggerate so much. The Bearcat is 17,550 lbs & the highways dept truck is a dually F-350 (at minimum), so between the 6800 lb bare chassis-cab, the custom steel deck & cargo that dually would tip the scales around 10,000 lbs. Suggesting a dually F350 is 4000 lbs only works if you meant kilograms

Dogs cannot make educated decisions about their safety or others, are frequently not trained well enough, and should not be legal to use for police work. Frankly they are frequently used in an illegal manor by police to gain entry to search vehicles.
