Back around 1999 I sent Koko a card in the mail offering condolence when her partner passed. Gorilla Foundation sent me a letter, saying they read the card to her, in sign language. They said she sat and listened thoughtfully, then reached out and touched the card with her finger.
I understand. My mom died of cancer in 1994, just months after Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and just months before "Bewitched" star, Elizabeth Montgomery - two classy ladies I followed and were also around the same age at the time.
Saddam Hussein I think she was mourning her best friend Michael's death, another gorilla who could speak in sign language, infact, this is the first time in six months since Michael's death that she finally smiled and laughed.
It seems like a lot of people believe that Robin Williams ended his life because of clear cut depression; this was not the case. He had an advanced and horrible form of dementia called Lewy body dementia that was only discovered after his death. I believe his doctors had diagnosed him with Parkinson’s disease a few months before he died, but that did not necessarily explain his changes in mood, personality, sleep and general thinking. He supposedly started suffering from extreme fear and anxiety, then paranoia and eventually delusional looping. These symptoms combined with severe insomnia and even hallucinations made life an absolute nightmare for Robin towards the end. His wife described his situation as “Imagined fear on fire”. Robin was truly suffering, and I think people need to understand that this was not as simple as “he was sad inside and couldn’t handle it anymore”. There is a great CNN profile done on Robin and his disease that I highly recommend. It will break your heart to read, but it gave me some peace and understanding that helped me come to terms with Robin’s untimely passing. Idk if anyone will ever read this, but I felt it needed to be said after seeing so many comments misunderstanding Robin’s decision.
He changed my life as a child struggling with depression. He was the light to me. To know that light would never return, and left in that particular way, always shattered me a bit. I will always appreciate you and others who share this. Thank you and I wish you well. 🤍
Robin’s struggles is why we, as a society, need to allow people to choose euthanasia over severe suffering. We do this for the animals we love; but it can’t be done for people? His death would have been so much less traumatic if he was able to choose, and be able to have his loved ones say goodbye.
Well, I read it and I want to thank you. I was about to comment on how it moved me to see him SO happy, knowing he was so unhappy in the winter of his life. While your comment didn’t change that, it did change everything. ❤️
He’ suffered from depression for decades. His family said so. Depression is a brain chemical imbalances that many people suffer from. Young and old. That occurred long before anything he else had.
What makes this REALLY amazing is that Koko's companion, Michael had recently died and her handlers state that meeting Robin Williams was the very first time she'd smiled since Michaels death. Robin Williams broke Koko's depression and we're all able to catch that moment via this video.

I have always found peace in the idea of there being a place that eventually all souls go to once they have been rehabilitated from their broken ways. A place of infinite good, infinite realities, emotions you can never experience in life, and satisfaction, nothing ever bad. Some place where even the worse of people are now 100% good souls, and enemies of the past life have become eternal friends. A big reunion with people you never even knew in life. Some place with that kind of reality. A relaxing image, isn't it?
Robin didn't die because of depression. He took his life so his family, friends and fans wouldn't see him become extremely ill. He had Lewy Body Dementia. Just because somebody takes their life, it doesn't mean they had depression.
Koko had HIM giggling, the man who could make people double over with laughter, but who rarely laughed himself. He looked out of his own head and into the moment, and looked better for it.
What's amazing is how there's no sign of condescension in either Robin Williams or Koko. Robin treats Koko just like a person, and Koko endures Robin's poor ape skills with perfect dignity and patience. This is a beautiful video. We talk about "all of us" being part of the human race, but our affinity with the "rest" of life goes far deeper than our own species.
He was very brave to get down on her level. Koko was a very kind and loving gorilla, but any animal that size could injure you severely without meaning to.
You’re all wrong koko and Robin Williams are the staple of all that is good in the human race. Yes koko isn’t human but she demonstrated more humanity than most humans will ever do in their lives. RIP to the Legends
If nothing else had ever already convinced me of the intelligence of gorillas, Koko putting on Robin's glasses and going to look out the window to see how they worked for her would have been more than enough. Robin has always had one of the kindest faces I have ever seen on a human being, it's no wonder Koko liked him. The world truly lost something special and became a little darker when he died.
The reality is. Only those that believe in and accept JESUS CHRIST are saved. We don’t know if robin Williams did or not……. I will automatically block ANYONE that sends rude or abusive comments. I will also report. I will NOT be abused for speaking GODS TRUTH. GOD BLESS. XXXX
Koko’s realisation of robin’s death is one of the saddest things I have ever watched. Even something of another species was touched by this incredible person, and it touches me
Yea. I mean we see it today with afrcn mericans. When we live together with another species many times the other species is not able to live in our modern societies seen in hoods, brasil parts etc.
Humankind is one ‘species’, people all over the world just have different features. Just like you, you are probably chubby and not the brightest in the bunch.
When Koko looks at the movie case, points then looks at Robin, then facepalms like "I knew it was you, I just kinda forgot a little bit" precious, rip to Koko the good human gorilla
That hug at the end, she sensed he needed it. Easy with hindsight to see things differently, but I bet Koko sensed Robin's sadness. I could see it in his eyes.
On the bright side, we're blessed with documentation of two amazing beings, who liver within the same time as us, interacting with each other. That alone is amazing.
Koko's Gorilla instinct was able to detect Robin's humorous nature and beautiful soul (she has no concept of his fame)...you can't get any more pure than that. I looked at the other celebrity meetings with Koko and nothing compares to how engaging she was with Robin. What a marvelous day that must have been for him. RIP.
Sunshine Water Totally agree. She seemed more indifferent to the other celebrities, but totally taken with Robin. I think KoKo sensed his compassion and that's what she responded to. She clearly enjoyed their time together.
*Sunshine Water* I know it's been a while now since the tragedy of Robin Williams' death. I wanted to say though, that I really appreciate your comments, as I have just come to this page and am touched by all the kind comments praising and commemorating the wonderful life of a comic and seriously good dramatic artist, that we all will miss incredibly for decades to come. I am glad that you wrote it down here, that other celebrities had nothing on Mr. Williams' ability to totally charm and make a real bond with Koko the gorilla. I really hope it was one of the most marvelous days of his precious life. R.I.P.
I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone. (Robin Williams ) R.I.P man... 😔💔
_On Monday, Aug. 11, the day news broke of Williams' passing, Koko and Penny and Ron (Drs. Patterson and Cohn) were together when phone calls started coming in about the sad event. After the first call, Koko came to Dr. Patterson with an inquiring look on her face. Dr. Patterson explained that "we have lost a dear friend, Robin Williams." Koko was quiet and looked very thoughtful._ _More phone calls about the news came in, and Koko overheard one from a former colleague who had worked with Williams while he filmed a public service announcement for The Gorilla Foundation (based on his visit with Koko) in 2003. The colleague's voice broke at the end of the conversation. About a half an hour later, Koko signed to Penny: "CRY LIP" (LIP is Koko's sign for woman)._ _At the end of the day, Koko became very somber, with her head bowed and her lip quivering._
Koko understands death. She was greatly saddened when her beloved cat All-Ball passed away and mourned him for many days. She would have understood that her friend Robin Williams was now passed away and would never be coming back. Thanks for sharing.
@@seanchukwuezi3079He had Lewy Body Dementia, a terribly ravaging, painful and scary condition. He chose to go on his schedule. Euthanasia should be legal for anyone of sound mind.
Al M they show love and thoughts just like us humans thats why Its so amazing they can think like us even have personality they think about there own life they have enough brains to realize that they have a soul and so do we. This connection between human and gorillas you can see how much she likes to be tickled but any dog can asked to get pet but the difference Is so responds with her loving it and showing how much it means to her by smiling since she cant use her words.
technically they don't because I don't think souls exist. however I would agree if you mean that there are plenty of animals that are more compassionate, peaceful and caring than a lot of humans. that is a definite truth
Animals don't hate? First, you just called humans "highly evolved" which isn't true. We are equally evolved to any organism on this planet. Second, we don't know if animals feel an emotion called "hate." They could, or they could not. That's not a philosophical case for the moral superiority of animals it's a case for neurological differences between animals and humans.
There has never been a celebrity death that has effected me more then Robbin Williams... Ever since the first time I saw him in Flubber, I just absolutely adored the man. From everything I saw myself, to everything I read about him, he was just universally loved. But the funniest and most adored people also unfortunately happen to be the most empty and depressed, which has been well known for a long time (ie. Pagliacci) It just hurts even worse though whenever I see a video of Robin, because it just reminds me that I will never be as good of a human as he was, and I will never get to meet him. RIP man...
I don't know if this helps, but I think you should read what his wife told later about the Lewy body disease he had (and the public didn't know about). That disease has symptoms that could make anybody depressed, even the strongest of us, and it has no cure. So the fact that he committed suicide doesn't mean that he suffered all his life, just that he faced something terrible at the end of it.
Same he showed so much joy in his movies. Any movie he was in was amazing. I feel like I lost a part of my childhood when I heard he passed. To this day my heartaches because had pain that no one saw. I didn't know him personally but his acting was phenomenal and heartfelt. I just wish he could've been around a little longer. R.I.P. Robin Williams
'I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.'
i think some of the things that hollywood does really got to him, and he forgot how to be the way that we are. he forgot how to live without guilt. but he had to know that there are people that always love him, and i think that he truly believed that the love we have and had for him, was fake because of the behind the scenes things he may have had to do against his own morality just to be in hollywood. But the reality is I dont care, he made my life better on many occasions just re watching his movies. if he had to travel through hell to shed the light of heaven, then his trip was worth it. and he should not have guilt. his path was his, and only his.
I suffer from chemical depression, as well as an extremely painful medical condition. Bad combination! My capacity for love is the only thing that holds me here. I love my people more than I hate my pain, but I realize a day may come when my mind convinces me otherwise. I know I run the risk of losing my fight every single day. It pains me greatly to know Robin Williams lost his battle, but for me, it doesn't overshadow all the good he created in the world. I look at his end, not as a failure, but as a very human moment where his mind overwhelmed his heart.
@@Mexsipuedoperez thank you so much; you matter too - you just made a stranger smile and feel kindness :-) Thank you for that; take good care of yourself, and never lose that beautiful compassion of yours.
@@jameslatimer1432 Its completely possible she recognized him from the movie. They taught her sign language you know... She'd be able to tell them limitedly.
she is incredibly amazing. I love watching videos of her. I fight depression as hard as I can and fight with even worse emotional and mental crap. when I watch these videos she makes all that go away even if it is for just a short while.
Man I hate admitting that depression and suicide is a bad decease... But it is and can be a deadly one. I'm glad there are animals and people out there that help take some of if away even if it is temporarily taken away.
I have to think what words I can possibly say to truly express watching this video. This is not the first time I have watched this but I can honestly say this is the first time I actually understand what was happening to both Koko and Robin. Robin has the most beautiful facial expressions. We all have seen Robin's comedy and his movies so we would naturally would expect him to crack off a few "one liners" during his meeting Koko. Completely fooled me. What I saw was this huge very powerful creature look into Robin's eyes with such interest in him. Then I see Robin feeling completely comfortable and at ease. That without anything else, is quite impressive. Then you see both of them sharing a common trait, that I had not noticed before. The way the expressions between both Robin and Koko, had been seen millions of times before, but not like this. This connection is different though because the feelings and expressions were reversed!!!!! What I mean is Robin Williams is so famous and fans are so crazy over Robin but now it is Robin who is completely star struck over meeting and connecting with Koko. Koko is so much in love with Robin. I have been so emotional watching this love and trust between them both. This is truly a private and touching moment in the lives of us all. Thank you so much for allowing us to witness something we don't get the chance to experience too much. God Bless you Robin. God Bless you Koko as well. Hopefully both of you are still together in your after life!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What's actually really sad is that when he died, they told the gorilla and she legitimately signed "cry" and was very depressed for the rest of the day );
+philxcorexinxurxface not sure about the case with RW, but a cat that the gorilla adopted as a pet in the 80s was hit by a car and died. when the gorilla was told, it signalled a variety of gestures that meant things along the line of crying and sadness. if the gorilla remembered RW and was sincere and not just repeating expected behaviour, then it is not that far fetched that it genuinely felt sadness and communicated it as described.
+Volound apes do remember. There's no way it can be confirmed 100% that Koko knew , but they are incredibly intelligent. I'm in awe of them & chimps especially .
+No Name The man was going crazy because of Parkinson's and dementia dude. He also lived a relatively full life to the age of 63, and I'm sure that his family loves him enough to understand why he did what he did. Losing yourself when you are already prone to depression would be devastating to your sanity as well.
You were so gifted, your comedy even made a sad gorilla happy. Not just excellent, but original as well. Your legacy will not just be the smiles you gave, but a big step in taking the stigma away from mental illness. Perhaps one day mental illness will be treated as it should be, the same as any other illness. There will never be another like you, RIP Robin Williams.
I thought Robin Williams was going to overdue to it with his comedic routines in playing with Koko, instead he was quite (the wise thing to do) and allowed for Koko to greet him and listen and feel her gestures of communication before hamming it up. Thus allowed her to be herself. He did this by letting her take the lead which is what a good listener would do in any interview or 1st time meeting one another, which is probably why she opened up more freely. In that regard Robin Williams was truly one of a kind, this meeting of Koko also said a lot about Robin Williams as well. Two gentle souls.
For those who talk about the negative, please watch ALL of Koko's story. You can check the channel. She was born in a zoo and, I believe, abandoned by her mother. She wasn't just taken away. Anyway, let's be positive and enjoy this fantastic creature of God.
+Jan Turner she shouldn't have been in a zoo in the first place, their habitats should be what we're fighting for but I understand what you're saying. Two lovely creatures, Koko & Robin Williams RIP !
Jan Turner So very true Jan. Gorillas, Chimps, Elephants, Dogs and many other of Gods Creatures are incredibly intelligent, and unbelievably Social beings. Actually I have seen the animals I mentioned, grieve for their family members or dear friend. It breaks your heart. But that's the price you pay when deciding to open your heart up to an animal, and care enough to take the time it takes, to know and understand
God bless you, too! And THANK YOU PFCthomas for your service! My dad was in the Air Force 22 years. I was born on a base and grew up on bases. A big Koko hug. :)
Koko brought me here. To watch a video of Koko and Robin Williams together brought tears to my eyes, just pure innocence and happiness. RIP to both of them.
RIP to an absolutely hairy animal. RIP to Koko too. lol. Both of these intelligent creatures blessed many with their presence. Robin will always be a legend.
I like to think of Koko now somewhere with her gentle and dear friends Robin Williams and Mister Rogers, as well as fellow gorillas, "little brother" Michael (who she grew up with and who Williams is cheering her up about in this video) and even Harambe, the gorilla martyr.
Stev M Absolutely! It's just so sad that someone who tried to make the world a happier place for all us had pain that he apparently thought he couldn't live with.
It is so much harder to watch this video when your eyes are full of tears and your heart full of love and condolence for both of these two stellar beings. RIP to both of them. They will never stop being missed. Thank you, Penny, for giving us Koko. Thank you world for giving us the incomparable Robin Williams. They're companions in heaven, no doubt and how wonderful that must be for them both.
"You are the prefect Animal to do it".. remember we kill for living.. we destroy the planet... we are ANIMALS more than they are actualy.... sadly.. not a similar...
This was one of the finest things I've seen on youtube!..amazing how Koko warms up to Robin Williams!...I'd love to see much much more of this kind of video!.
I sell videogames and movies sometimes on Amazon. About 7 years ago I got an order for Scooby Doo and Aloha (something like that) movie. The order was from Koko and I googled it and realized who it was for. I was like wow this is freaking awesome! Anyway, that was the coolest order I have ever gotten and sent her a few more cartoons with it.
This man… he can take time out of his busy schedule to make a cute little gorilla happy. You can tell he wasn't forced to do this. He enjoyed it. Koko signed (according to most reports) she was sad, and she signed cry. R.I.P Robin Williams.
eye duppz who wouldn't enjoy that that is a very special animal she's very intelligent and inquisitive she would be an incredible joy to spend time with.
As someone who is suffering from depression, daily and from childhood, I know the answer better than anyone, and yet I still ask, "Why, Robin? Why??" in my heart. I couldn't function yesterday, I have no words, I''ll miss him more than I can say; I know so many people feel the same.
This video in a way was haunting. Not in a bad way. Koko, this sweet gorilla instantly took to Robin. She saw his face, felt his heart and she KNEW he was hurting. People claim animals have no "feelings" or can remember or sense things. To them I say BS! I grew up in a alcoholic home. There were nights of fear, crying, hiding. It is a viciously cruel disease. My little dogs, they were brother and sister, they KNEW when I was sad, afraid, upset. Animals can have a bond with people, some better than others, and some people just have a way about them as well. Robin Williams had that with Koko. You could see she was gentle with him. Showed him love and affection right off. She in my opinion felt his sadness and fear. Not fear of her so much, but Robin's fear of the future, the "unknown". She sensed his sadness and pain. Robin gave so much joy to people. Millions love him! They adored his comedy acts, his characters, and his flat out love of laughter. What hurts me is inside this extremely funny man was crying in pain. I knew a sweet and beautiful woman. She was just turning 23. She worked near my home. Then later she worked with me. I was a overnight supervisor and she was my customer service. I was in charge of getting everything ready for morning, she was in charge of the front end. We had a blast together. We'd joke, laugh, talk about everything and anything! I'd cover her brakes and 99.9% she'd sit with me and we'd talk. She was amazing. I knew her brother, he was incredibly smart. He went to my school. A couple years younger than me. But I knew him mainly from school and her. Then one day she didn't come into work. I had to cover the front end. No problem. The next day, same thing. She called in the first night but the next, nothing. She NEVER did that, she was always on time and at work. By the third day we had a new overnight person. She had been there before so she knew the routine. That next night I found out she had killed herself. This incredibly warm, sweet, funny, adorable, and beautiful woman who I loved working with, talking to, and just liked everything about her, she was dead. I was so sad, lost, angry, depressed, and mostly confused. I didn't understand how or why? She always was so happy. She always had a happy-go-lucky attitude and smile. She always SEEMED like she was great. Hidden was a sadness I didn't know about. I think back and wonder, if maybe I'd reached out more. Maybe told her more personal things about me, and how she made me feel. Maybe? This pain inside was so painful she'd rather not live than deal with it. Now Robin was one of the funniest people on the planet. He was a comedic genius! His name on the marquee meant you were seeing a LEGEND, AN ICON, a BRILLIANT COMEDIAN, and a GREAT PERSON! It's sad that there can be pain so brutal, so cruel, that people don't want to live. When I see people making comments telling people to do just that, it sickens me. Life is so precious. I wished at one point that I'd just die. I couldn't do it, but I felt that empty and alone. It is a very real, and very terrifying feeling. We need to look at this gorilla, a primate, yet she had more love and heart than 90% of the people on line! Sad, very sad!
I truly understand your feelings, and I've got a philosphy about all of this. I believe that there's a better world beyond this one, and I believe that God is going to somehow make it all...all of it...right. I truly believe this because I had an NDE, near-death experience, left my body and came eyeball to eyeball with God Himself. The real one. It was wonderful and even though I'd spent the previous two years as drugged out as I could get, I could tangibly feel and see to the core of my DNA that He really liked me, loved me, adored me. Everything is going to be all right one day and it's not so far away anymore.
Seven years after.... and it's my birthday... and this is the first video I picked... As Robin is still missed...dearly so is Koko... a beautiful being that I shall never forget, I wish I could have spent a single second knowing Koko...
awww this is the sweetest video ever and before I go any further she is just adorable and sweet ,love the part where took off robin's glasses and put it on her awwwwwww .
*In loving memory of Robin Williams* - much loved and missed comedian and all round entertainer. I notice that now these ill informed, crude and uncomplimentary comments that you all mention here have now been deleted from this thread. Hopefully those that wrote them had an attack of conscience and realised how distasteful they were being. Possibly not - as people can be incredibly dense, but to all those who defended and honoured his memory - you did right, you know it, and let's hope that somehow, somewhere, Mr Williams knows it too. Much love.
Fuckyouman, 100‰ correct, i too am dealing with depression this last 12 years. Its a pure bitch. Had a cancer scare 8years before that when I was 28years old now I am 49years old last Friday
PlayZone300 But that doesn't change the fact that animals act out against other animals. It isn't necessary for a gorilla to rip your face open for shaking it's hand, but the gorilla doesn't know that. This is why we shouldn't compare animals with humanity. Animals other than humans are just not smart enough to understand the things that we do.
+Joe Sal If you truly believe animals don't know how much strength to use for certain things you do not know much about science and biology. Most animals do of course, but especially mammals and ESPECIALLY advanced primates. How do you think a dog knows how soft to bite when wanting to simply play with you versus when wanting to inflict pain for defense? How do you think Koko knows how to gently handle a kitten or turn on a faucet or hug Penny without crushing them? You have to stop thinking there is some magic line that separates humans from all other animals. It is all on a spectrum and we are just at the top intellectually.
Dear uploader, I am amazed, To pick someone a genius such as Robin Williams for this program was genius itself. Thank you for the great memories!!!!!!!!! This is Beautiful, many thanks.
this genuinely made me smile with so much joy. Just seeing two amazing creatures having fun and enjoying every moment. Love is real, the love we have for each creature has dissolved over the years of our race. But I do believe we are getting back on track to connecting with our fellow neighbors on this big home we call earth.

Robin’s struggles is why we, as a society, need to allow people to choose euthanasia over severe suffering. We do this for the animals we love; but it can’t be done for people? His death would have been so much less traumatic if he was able to choose, and be able to have his loved ones say goodbye.

She saw Robin. Not like the rest of us. Saw a kind soul. Maybe even saw the pain the rest of us didn’t see. Animals are more in-tune than we are.
That’s what I was thinking. She seemed to truly see him.
@@madisonhartwick8114 Animals can sometimes do that. In tune way more than we are. Too much noise in the world for us.
Completely agree
Absolutely.
Robin didn't die because of depression. He took his life so his family, friends and fans wouldn't see him become extremely ill. He had Lewy Body Dementia. Just because somebody takes their life, it doesn't mean they had depression.
Two of the purest souls having a tickle

Beautifully said.
Perfectly put
Can I take a moment to talk about the fact that Robin Williams was such an influential person, that his death saddened a Gorilla.
I can't watch his movies anymore because his death was a problem for me. But I enjoy this video.
Koko had HIM giggling, the man who could make people double over with laughter, but who rarely laughed himself. He looked out of his own head and into the moment, and looked better for it.
he was such a wonderful man
Lilith Valentine Aw really?

Very nice thought.
No need to be rude. I thought Robin's ape skills were pretty much ok, especially for a first encounter.

He’s looking in her eyes and showing his teeth, she’s incredibly tolerant.
He was very brave to get down on her level. Koko was a very kind and loving gorilla, but any animal that size could injure you severely without meaning to.
This man was a treasure and the world got a little darker when we lost him
Name a more iconic duo, I'll wait. There will never be another Koko or Robin.

Jakk Frost ...yes, as it will soon enough when Koko dies. : (

When Koko looks at the movie case, points then looks at Robin, then facepalms like "I knew it was you, I just kinda forgot a little bit" precious, rip to Koko the good human gorilla

@@MonkeyBonkeyI think Ms. Doubtfire
That hug at the end, she sensed he needed it. Easy with hindsight to see things differently, but I bet Koko sensed Robin's sadness. I could see it in his eyes.
Koko is a female, you dork.
Robin Williams I was talking about "His eyes" so fuck off calling me a dork.
most people like getting hugs, it's not surprising to see in the video.

RIP.
Sunshine Water
Totally agree.
Koko new Williams from TV, or so she indicated.

Koko knew that she was dealing with someone wonderful . So did Robin. Such a beautiful video. Thank you.
The fact that they're both sitting there laughing and tickling each other is just truly remarkable. Two unique individuals
_On Monday, Aug. 11, the day news broke of Williams' passing, Koko and Penny and Ron (Drs. Patterson and Cohn) were together when phone calls started coming in about the sad event. After the first call, Koko came to Dr. Patterson with an inquiring look on her face. Dr. Patterson explained that "we have lost a dear friend, Robin Williams." Koko was quiet and looked very thoughtful._
_More phone calls about the news came in, and Koko overheard one from a former colleague who had worked with Williams while he filmed a public service announcement for The Gorilla Foundation (based on his visit with Koko) in 2003. The colleague's voice broke at the end of the conversation. About a half an hour later, Koko signed to Penny: "CRY LIP" (LIP is Koko's sign for woman)._
_At the end of the day, Koko became very somber, with her head bowed and her lip quivering._

Koko understands death. She was greatly saddened when her beloved cat All-Ball passed away and mourned him for many days. She would have understood that her friend Robin Williams was now passed away and would never be coming back. Thanks for sharing.

I'm fairly certain animals have souls. People, I occasionally have doubts about.
of course animals have a sould and btw humans are animals too
There's no proof of this so called "soul" in either animals or human.
People are people. Animals are people. That's simple.
It’s hard to understand why he left the world. We so desperately needed people like him. The ones who bring laughter and love.
I love Robin Williams. So did Koko.
Poor Robin was diagnosed with a bad case of dementia. I wouldn't want to live with that. No dignity or life. Just a burden. Sad but true...
$35 million in alimony payments may have something to do with it.
@zyklon b that's really great thought
You and millions of us out here who loved him! It is a cup that will never be filled.
I bet this is in Robin Williams top 20 moments in his life. Lucky man!
You will never lose, contact anyone when you feel like that. Even me if you so desire.

The way the expressions between both Robin and Koko, had been
seen millions of times before, but not like this. This connection is different though because the feelings and expressions were reversed!!!!! What I mean is Robin Williams is so famous and fans are so crazy over Robin but now it is Robin who is completely star struck over meeting and connecting with Koko. Koko is so much in love with Robin.
I have been so emotional watching this love and trust between them both. This is truly a private and touching moment in the lives of us all. Thank you so much for allowing us to witness something we don't get the chance to experience too much. God Bless you Robin. God Bless you Koko as well. What's actually really sad is that when he died, they told the gorilla and she legitimately signed "cry" and was very depressed for the rest of the day );
+philxcorexinxurxface not sure about the case with RW, but a cat that the gorilla adopted as a pet in the 80s was hit by a car and died. when the gorilla was told, it signalled a variety of gestures that meant things along the line of crying and sadness. if the gorilla remembered RW and was sincere and not just repeating expected behaviour, then it is not that far fetched that it genuinely felt sadness and communicated it as described.

Just incredible...I think she sensed his sadness too. Wanting him to be happy. Beautiful moment in time
This video in a way was haunting.

Possibly not - as people can be incredibly dense, but to all those who defended and honoured his memory - you did right, you know it, and let's hope that somehow, somewhere, Mr Williams knows it too. Much love.
Tears are rolling down my face this very instant after watching this video. What sweethearts they both were. R.I.P. Koko and Robin.
Is it possible to watch this without smiling?
Sarah Weller smiling, in tears
Yes, if you're a poacher.
Fuckyouman, 100‰ correct, i too am dealing with depression this last 12 years. Its a pure bitch. Had a cancer scare 8years before that when I was 28years old now I am 49years old last Friday
It's a sad world we live in where animals are more humane than humanity.
that's the fucking truth.
that animal would rip robin to shreds if he got outa line though.
Joe Sal But animals only act against others to survive. Human being is concentraded to reach more and more, even if it hurts others.
You could tell Koko nearly had the same level of love and appreciation for Robin that his fans did. That's how incredible and bright his soul was.
Dear uploader, I am amazed,
To pick someone a genius such as Robin Williams for this program was genius itself.
Thank you for the great memories!!!!!!!!!
This is Beautiful, many thanks.
this genuinely made me smile with so much joy. Just seeing two amazing creatures having fun and enjoying every moment. Love is real, the love we have for each creature has dissolved over the years of our race. But I do believe we are getting back on track to connecting with our fellow neighbors on this big home we call earth.
oh man that is incredible!
*****
yeah i remember that i saw that too
***** Yes, Koko had a kitten that was hit by a car. She cried and later on they brought her a couple of kittens to choose from and she took TWO. :)
*****
two is better than one!
okay
Hope For Humanity Talking about Williams death?
They're playing in heaven together, absolutely. That moment @4:12 brings me to tears
Breaks my heart every time I see Robin Williams. In addition to the humor and talent, he was such a kind, gentle and giving human being. It's no wonder why he and Koko connected so well. God Bless both of them.
RIP Koko . You taught us more than we taught you.
Robin Williams finally met someone hairier then himself:-)
ha! i was thinking the same thing. good thing he wore a shirt or else the viewer would have a hard time trying to identify who is who
lol, i KNEW someone was going to take that joke, damn you!
Clearly none of you have ever seen a middle eastern
- A middle eastern girl who experiences the unfortunate societal expectation that women should be hairless
Oh Robin, you're so hairy she thought you were her man :0) Will miss you.
I loved this man. It still makes me cry that he is gone, but he left such a legacy. He also left us with a lesson. If your loved ones are displaying unusual behavior, please intervene. You could save a life and a heartbreak.
