I purchased this and received it last night. The instructions are pretty vague and typed really small, not where I could read them easily. So, I am happy to have found this and another video that in more in depth, on how to access the various features.
I've never owned or operated a gimbal before, but this gentleman has got me up and running. I spent about an hour, going through the hardware and the app (software) and I am using a cheap, Amazon purchased phone, the TCL 40 X 5g, and it works fine. Bar none, the best value I've purchased in a long time. I paired it with a Bear Vlogger Wireless mic set (the type that plugs into your phone, making my phone nearly 7.5" and it still mounted fine. I did have to use the Horizontal Adjustment found in the App, via the Cameras settings. That worked perfect. I haven't used all the features. Going out tomorrow to try the a/b panning function. For filming B-rolls for Vlogging was my intention of getting a gimbal, but now I think I'm going to have to buy a second phone, because I can see me running around with this thing going all the time.

Nice job on the review - clearly and amply detailed, more so than most user manuals. Of all the gimbals I've taken a look at, this one grabbed my attention most. This seems like a decent gimbal to work with, in the beginning and as one advances in skill.
Thank you. Yes, that is a great point. It's a gimbal that can grow with the user. I like the fact that one can use this simply as a gimbal or with more advanced features like face and object tracking and manual focus. The ability to extend the gimbal is really my favorite feature. That distance comes in handy in a lot of filming situations.
@@GreatDayForAHike I just unpacked and set it up tonight. After about 5 minutes of getting a handle on balancing it (following your suggestions), I shot a couple of quick indoor videos with both front and main cameras (iPhone 11 Pro Max) without much of an idea of what I was doing. It was actually quite fun just experimenting. I've never used a gimbal before, and I can already envision an added level of professionalism, going forward. Thank you.

I just got my gimbal today and I haven't toyed with it yet but u said it can take a wireless mic. I have looked high and low for a mic for this gimbal. no luck! Do you know if there is an after market mic for this gimbal or where I can find the mic for this gimbal?

Thanks. It takes a bit of practice to get the smooth zoom.
How do you connect an external microphone to the usb c port on your cell phone the gimbal arm is blocking it ?
Good question. There is sufficient room for the cable due to the cable not sticking out much from the phone before it bends (it’s flexible). When using this gimbal I connect the lightning end of the cable into my phone first, mount the phone, and then plug the USB-c end into the gimbal.
Is this able to do things when I do gestures (e.g. zoom)
Great question. I am not certain of this. It may depend on the phone model and compatibility.

Thank you for your feedback. My aim was to explore the major features of this gimbal and provide a summary without providing too much detail. With the light I have confirmed that level 1 is good if it’s a dark, overcast day or low light in the morning or evening. Level 2 and 3 are great for when it is dark.
With the audio, the built-in mic on the gimbal seems to give a richer, more-full sound vs using the iPhone audio. I expect this is partly because the gimbal also blocks some of the built-in mics on the iPhone.
It has a hard time balancing when turned on and I followed ur steps! I’m using an iPhone 15 pro max which is slimmer and shorter then the 14 pro max but it hits the sides of the gimble as it try’s to rotate
I recommend testing balancing it as close to balanced as possible while giving it room to swivel and see if this helps. The balance doesn't have to be perfect due to the strength of the motors, but close to balanced while still allowing the needed movement is usually okay.
@@GreatDayForAHikeI got it to work , you should point out that the mouth for the phone can be adjusted from horizontal to vertical before mounting. That’s what helped me balance it correctly and for it to work correctly!

At ~ 2:15 when you were mounting, IF there is no interference with the phone buttons, it is better to "bottom out" the bottom of the phone to the gimbal head so as to give you the SAME mounting point - BEFORE you remember a reference number adjusting the balance.... As filmed, there is about a 1/4 inch gap between the phone bottom and the gimbal head and this would also help the center of gravity when balancing.... AND at ~ 4:50, "you can use pretty much any video app", OK, tell me ONE that will also work with the AOCHUAN brand gimbal....
I just got this gimbal today and I can’t get it to go into portrait no matter the setting.
Same I can’t do it ethier and I keep thing I was mouthing it wrong but it won’t go in portrait
