Back when we were kids we wanted ever more realistic graphics. But other than racing, flight sims and a couple other genres, I'd way rather developers try to push boundaries with stuff like this. Not to be one of those "it was better in my day" fogies, but I think old games were way more fun BECAUSE of their unrealism. The graphics in this game are utterly amazing.
i totally agree with you of course i think modern gaming is great but the "realism" of it all force a certain level of seriousness i think, games on on ps1 and 2 and older used to have this goofiness in them like tekken 3 with gon or prince of persia with funny videos and weapons you unlock thankfully we still have indie devs bringing us this type of games
It seems great but I can't imagine it has much replay value. Once you've played through and seen all it has to offer, that's pretty much it. Still, it does seem like a decent buy, especially considering it's on sale right now.

15:15 That Macho Man Randy Savage impersonator sounds incredible. If he was still alive, he would’ve loved to see all the homages to his iconic performances in pop culture. Back when I was much younger, it would’ve much easier for me to get through this game, but it became more difficult for me beginning with that boss fight. Your play through is fantastic, though, especially after the difficulty ramps up considerably after the first section of the game.
They did such an incredible job at the pixel art that it counts among the few titles that does not necessarily need reshading to look "CRT-Good" or rather should I say here, "Dos-Good". And in terms of direction, art and scripted-event, it borrow as much from old codes as it pushed it a good notch forward, somehow becoming the best of two world. This is not simply 90s Run & Gun platforming, but does not try to be a true 2.5D either, as it retains the core mechanisms and tech of old-school 2D, still, there obviously so much more depth to everything going on. A marvelous piece, that game is.
This game is basically Contra: shattered soldier, meets Escape From NY movie. If you ever seen that movie and played Contra Shattered Soldier, then you can easily see where the idea for this game came from. Of course there's others you can mix and match to get this, but "CSS" is definitely a big part of this game's design.

I think the bounty hunters were framed for killing miss rose , the killer was just another bounty hunter who has a voice changing got a misson to kill miss rose .
@iampanax I'd say memorable bosses in terms of personality is one of the strongest aspects of the game. Second best aspect is developers finding ways how bounty hunters manage to reply to intimidating Wolfmother without losing their cool, demonstrating that they're experts on the job.
I Think this i fairly easily best platform/shooter game ever (and no only in cyberpunk style). Music is very good, gameplay superior, graphics amazing and so is voice acting.... and the best of all is game atmosphere and creativity that want you to keep going. Any more games like this?

This game seems to be a bit overlooked. Kickass atmosphere, smooth gameplay, excellent retro pixels and amazing sound design.
I normally don't play side scrolling shooters but I just had a feeling that this game would be great. I'm glad I got to play it

This is a wonderful game that takes you into a journey in time. A dive back to the 80s, excellent.
The Easter Eggs in this game alone are worth it. Love the Blade Runner, Terminator and The Running Man references. My personal favorite is 1:54:33
