That was fun! The beets were a surprise, but a great idea for austere times. Thanks for all your research and subsequent reenactment, both makeup-wise and clothing. Red is definitely your color!

I've never tried these hacks from the 40s and it was so nice to see you put them to the test, they do work and you look beautiful in the authentic 40s makeup (and without it too)! 🥰🥰

So happy to see your video pop up today! Using soot as eye shadow definitely gives a deeper meaning to the term "smokey eye", doesn't it? My grandmother, who knew a lot about herbs, used alkanet root mixed with Vaseline to create lip color. Alkanet root creates the most gorgeous rosy burgundy color & is rather long lasting. I still use it today with a little coconut oil & glycerin to make my own lip gloss. Excellent video & great tips for vintage beauty looks. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Have a wonderful day!

A new video of you; that’s great! 😃 Like the Christmas tree with the cards in it. Pretty red dress and so nice to see you put on 40s make up! Looks good 👍🏻💋❤

Thanks so much for bringing this information to life! Really interesting and great to see it in practice!

These hacks seem like things that women of the time would have learned from their mothers or grandmothers, who would have done their make up like this when they were young and the make up industry didn't exist yet.

Really enjoy these historical lookbacks and educational videos that bring to life what women used to do. Super cool ❤ thank you for making this one!

Lovely to see you again 🌷The mascara and beets really work so well. 💐

Yes! Yes! Women werent' weaking insane amounts of make-up at all times, I get annoyed with how it is always portrayed that way, how supposedly historically accurate tutorials will put on pounds of make-up.
