    Eight years in the making, the Tone of the Gods is Jason Dorne's labour of love, a hybrid of his favourite tone generators - Schaffer, Benson, JTM45, Jan Ray and more... all of these names get a mention here but they have been tweaked and modded to Jason's taste. You get a preamp feeding an overdrive feeding a high voltage boost with 3-band EQ, all attenuated by a Master volume at the end of the chain. Each component can be used separately or together with the others and all have high quality, silent relay footswitches. There's a trim pot on the rear of the pedal for further tone manipulation and the whole package comes in a very tough copper coloured case. The Tone of the Gods is a New Zealand export built to rock, boost, drive, and rock some more!

    I spent five minutes for the first time after receiving this pedal and with minimal tweaking, I was very impressed with how this sounds!

    I just wanna say that, whatever guitars, amps or pedals, Brett always sounds amazing. Always!! I don't know why and how. You always sound great, man!! The people on UA-cam are not doing you justice. Only the 66.6k people do. You sound so much better than those guitar channels with hundreds k or even millions of subscribers. Keep up the good work! I pray one day you will reach millions of subscribers and views. That's what you deserved!! Rock n roll 🤘🤘

    A REAL Amp in a Box

    Hey Brett, here’s an idea for you since you often mix hardware with software (axe fx3), it would be interesting to get the axe in 4CM into a clean tube amp, and then use the axe preamp (with power section turned off) models, to show we can use the axe for effects, but we can also send digital preamps models into a real tube amp and have more than just 1 clean channel, and bring 200+ amp models into a real hardware tube amp and cab. I haven’t seen much youtube videos that shows that use to add an axe fix (or FM3) to a real tube amp to not only brings effect (pre/post amp), but also amp models, maybe even some W/D/W with the real tube amp for Dry and fractal amp and effects for Wet. That’s kind of stuff... This is actually what I plan to do once I receive my Axe FX3 :)

    I was braced for sticker shock, but was pleasantly surprised! 🙂 Boutique tone at a workingman's price. Good stuff!

    interesting one Brett fella, It is not my cup of tea but I could see/hear it as something that I'd grab for players that are totally not into most of the gear I love and use myself as an audio engineer, I'm sure you will understand why I'm interested in things that gear wise that are not for my own grubby needs.
    Nice demonstration as you always deliver, all the very best your way, cheers!

    I can imagine that sounding truly stunning into an amp like the Victory V40 which is fairly neutral sounding and would allow this pedal to show off its full range of capabilities. Not that it doesn't sound great as demonstrated here mind you.

      @kevinjohnbetts 3 роки тому

      @@ToneOFTheGods Obviously it depends on how it's set. There are so many gain and tone-shaping capabilities on the pedal that dialled in correctly it should sound great through anything. My thinking is that the less 'colour' there is in the amp the more range you have with the pedal to create your sound. If I still had my V40 this pedal would replace three on my board quite easily and might just be left on 90% of the time.

    The only thing I dislike about the pedal is the order of the footswitches. I wish it was Grind - Boost - Master - Preamp, which would fit more with the order of the circuits.

    There is a Burgman pedal demo where he brings out the original Hot Wired pedal near the end to add dirt. He mentions how he held onto it all these years, and "that should tell you something" or something like that. Can someone tell me which demo that was??? Thanks!

    Nice tone. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to try out pedals yourself. All music stores are starting to disappear because of the internet stores. Terrible. Saturday used to be a fun day out to go to a music store. Try out guitars and effects. Meeting fellow musicians. Then you were still looking forward to going to the store.
