I'm probably in the Minority but I think MELTDOWN is one of the greatest Rock instrumental records ever, so full of blues rock aggression and coherent melodies, still listensnto it regularly
Vinnie is number one guitar master for me as a person and musican ,amazing guitarist and such a cool guy, true inspiration..every song from him is just great!
You can learn so much from VM's work upon each listening....so versatile, melodic, crafty, inventive and fresh regardless the production style. A true composer, song-stylist and inspiring force to be reckoned with. Much respect and gratitude extended to this man. Thank you Premier Guitar for this.
This is the absolute truth. The other 2 being Rising Force ( almost all instrumental ) and Maximum Security. If we are talking about neoclasical shred...this is it. The Shred Trinity
I actually tabbed out his first 2 instructional videos 3 nps 3 string grouping Pattern of 9 is a great alternate picking exercise, The great thing about the first instructional was he plays a riff then plays it in all positions
A kick ass Dickey Betts album was "Let's all get Together" Best $3.50 i ever spent! No one even knows that album exists. Richard makes his knowledge of the Whole Half diminished Scale very apparent on song 6 or 7. Such a kick ass CD
I wish I knew what that guitar was that he was attatched to back in the day. When his signature Ibanez came out I looked for one forever alas never found.
I gotta say, I have played more strat copies than any other guitar. I had to like them to some extent but I have never bought one. I was always given or traded them. ..but honestly I like odd shaped guitars. I bought a Jackson Kelly, I was given a BC Rich Mocking Bird years ago. My first guitar was a copy of an Explorer with odd cut outs, yellow and black tiger stripe. lol ..but I didn't buy it either. lol
Every time I see an interview with Vinny Moore, I'm taking aback for a few seconds thinking "didn't he die?!", only to remember that it was Gary Moore who did.
The two albums he mentioned, VH 1 and Machine Head. It's no coincidence he named exactly those two. Those that know, KNOW. There's 3 Bibles when it comes to mastering guitar. VH1, Machine Head and Petrucci's video Rock Discipline. You learn all 3 and slave and bust your ass over them and you too will be getting the pick of the litter when it comes to single mothers on the weekends. Be wise though, leave them at the club...for your own good. The No Bullshit/Tell It Like It Is Philosopher has spoken!

Mind's Eye still blows my mind!
Been a fan of Vinny for close to 30+ years. Since Shrapnel. A great player and seems like a down to earth, cool dude.
After 30 years, every time I listen to Mind's Eye it blows me away; boom
I'm probably in the Minority but I think MELTDOWN is one of the greatest Rock instrumental records ever, so full of blues rock aggression and coherent melodies, still listensnto it regularly
I agree! All his albums are amazing but to me Meltdown is something else

Minds Eye is in the top 3 instrumental albums ever. And I got & still have & watch Vinnies first instructional video.
This is the absolute truth. The other 2 being Rising Force ( almost all instrumental ) and Maximum Security. If we are talking about neoclasical shred...this is it. The Shred Trinity
Was always fascinated by the Ibanez strat copy with the humbuckers, the white one he used on that instructional dvd back in the day
Yep me too. I wanted that guitar, and Tony MacAlpine's BC Rich from his Maximum Security album.

Vinnie the big one
I liked his unaccompanied solo on Vicious Rumours , that was great
The SRV strat has 1600 frets ! shred machine!
Vinnie is a true and awesome guitar legend 🎸 I salute him. 👏
This guy's vocabulary on the guitar has evolved more dramatically than most of his neoclassical Shrapnel brethren in the 80s
Yep. He always had a very strong blues roots. That's why.
@@RossBradleyAudio he's come a long way from his high-gain, whammy-whanging debut, for sure. particularly in losing the pick.
It's a real shame that Meltdown isn't on spotify.
The amazing Vinman!
Happy Birthday to the man!
Vinnie is the one and only guitar player who understands a lot about music. My dream is to get at least one lesson from the master!!!
