Chipper Jones, 2018 MLB Hall of Famer...
Montreal needs to come back into the league! Enjoyed watching Vlad!
Andre Galarraga.. how can you hate him? Such an amazing person and loves the sport we all share the same love for. As a Braves fan, it was awesome to see him in a Braves uniform and blast home runs left and right almost every single night
Damn shame he isn’t in the hall of fame.
Watching this in June of 2021, the baby in Al Leiter's hands is currently a top 3 MLB prospect in the College World Series for Vanderbilt. Pitched a 15 K, CG a few days ago.
The last MLB ASG to date to be televised on a network that wasn't FOX
NBC would broadcast there last MLB game that October, Game 2 2000 ALCS Mariners/Yankees. A real shame. Baseball belongs on NBC
*Game 6
They should alternate on NBC, ABC and CBS i remember it seemed better on those networks.
Yes, damn how we miss the good old days, we didn't know how good we had it without Joe Buck making a mess out of everything!
Bob wickman was 31 and a pro player all while looking like a 45 year old beer delivery man. Gotta love it
Letting the kids go on the field with their dads during the intros was a nice touch. ❤️
Darryl Kile (DK57) was little when I watched him pitch, brings back memories to so many seeing him on the mound, who knew that 2 years later he would suddenly die and never appear in an all-star game again. God bless DK
He had that iconic curveball.
This was the end of the time period when Atlanta was a center of the baseball universe from 1991-2000. They were in the playoffs every year, the World Series 5 times, on national TV all the time, had the 1996 Olympic baseball tournament, and I believe they had the best record in MLB at the time of this game. They stumbled down the stretch this season and lost in the first round of the playoffs for the first time, and while they made the playoffs a few more times they weren't the big draw they had been.
Some universe, 18 division wins and 1 crown. Pathetic
I remember the night that the slide with Alex Cora and A-Rod happened. My grandma rented a hotel room on the beach as a summer gift for me and I got to bring a friend even though it was only about 15 minutes from our house haha in Florida. But I remember the dodgers were playing the Mariners and it was on TV at 10 at night and because it was summer time and I was at the hotel I got to watch the game and I was so happy to see Sheffield play and then that happened. That was a really fun weekend that I will treasure forever. I lost my grandma during covid in 2020. But whether it was taking me to baseball practice, cheering for me at my games, or rolling a baseball down the hallway in her house so I can get better at fielding, there are so many amazing memories with her that I will treasure forever. And even though that was a scary night for a rod, that whole night and weekend will be a memory that I will never forget
The good ol days and to think I was 34 when this game was played the 2000 world series was even better smh
Algo bonito todos los hijos están ahí en familia unidos en un solo propósito jugar béisbol muy lindo ...
1:53:17-1:54:24.; Bob Costas taught me something new... I remember watching this game as a kid, but, I don't think I caught the part where that stat was made mention of.
Costas has always been a straight shooter and in retrospect I think he knew what was up, guys juicing basically since the strike shortened year ('94) like MLB turned a blind eye cause bigger offense brought in fans/$$$ Looking back I really do think he was pointing it out, I mean those stats don't just increase like that and no way a coincidence it happened when they were trying to win fans back
Yeah 4 in a row lets keep this winning roll rolling cal ripkens last all-star wow what a way to finish it with a homer a true fan delight he's unbelievable unforgettable a truly great baseball players he deserves the honors com😅Ng to him and tony Quinn another absolute great player as well I loved watching this game an most memorable all star game that's for sure
Kind of an odd way to introduce the all stars.
Yea every other year they've done it by team I believe
Go Tribe!
A little disjointed, but I actually liked all the kids on the field. Baseball needs to appeal to kids any way it can
I'm surprised Pedro didn't start the game
MLB or somebody needs to upload the 2000 home run derrby
YES
ua-cam.com/video/0op1C5bAgvg/v-deo.html
Wow 3 Chicago White sox players on all star team and all 3 were not on the world series championship team 5 years later but 2 AL starters were members of the 05 championship team
That baby Al Leiter is holding is Jack Leiter, right?
Yup, sure is. Must’ve been about three months old. (And I definitely do not feel ancient at all. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go shoo some durned kids off my lawn 👴🏽 LOL).
Now Hall of famers that were selected to that game:
Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, Ivan Rodriguez, Roberto Alomar, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Vladimir Guerrero, Barry Larkin, Pedro Martinez, Trevor Hoffman, Edgar Martinez,
Both managers are in too.
Earlier Today Sailor Moon S on Toonami was the Purity Chalice the Revival of Uranus and Neptune and the DEATH of Eugeal a member of Bureau of Bad Behavior.
The music at the very start is the same as Ken Griffey Jr.s segment on the All Century Team
those hats are siiiiiiick
The last ASG not called by Joe Buck
The real killer. Some won't even watch after this one
Welcome back to Atlanta for the 2021 All Star Game !
I appreciate the upload, but the frequency and number of the ads makes this very difficult to watch
1:09 damn dude be rockin his cup. Nowadays players be all flat pants.
I was going to check this game out because the wikepidia page said the starting outfield for the National league was supposed to be Bonds, Griffey, and Sosa. What happened? Not that Guerrero is chopped liver.
59:55-1:00:03.; What was Bob Costas referring to as pertains to inflation & salaries?...
0:25-16:30.; Does anybody know, exactly what song/songs those were that played during the introductions?
grande edgardo
1:41:53.; Funny how audible that was, especially hearing it on the TV.
Jeter starting over Nomar despite Nomar having better numbers, yet Torre said it wasn't favoritism.. sure.
Gorgeous singer of the Canadian anthem.
Fox team is always missed. McCarver/Brenley blows out Morgan. Torre beats Cox...again! Where have those Yankees gone?
The first All-Star game of the 21st century.
I mean the last of the 20th
Its funny that costas says that tim hudson rubs people the wrong way and now hes considered to be a great guy
+Aaron Hernandez Hey, you're supposed to be on jail!!
Nathan Woodrueff 9
champion konerko
I was at this game, on the way in a MLB official grabbed me by the arm, i thought i was getting tossed or something lol. I had my Yankees jersey on, he asked me if i would like to ask Reggie Jackson and Gary Sheffield a question each on the Jumb-tron before the game. Me and 2 other guys. LOL i was scared to death. Wish i could somehow find that footage.
Title spoiler dang.
14:00 a galarraga walking around with no kids . ladies.
With respect, simply torturous
avisail
40:12-40:32.; How come there was no audio, here?
This just showed up in my feed and I'm a bit disappointed because I probably would have watched this game except you spoiled the outcome in the title. I watch this game 24 years ago but I don't remember the outcome.
David Wells is about 270
The longest intro of all time
how the heck did Jeter start at shortstop for the AL over Arod and Nomar? 30:07
can u provide 2000 and 2001 All Star Futures Game full game video?
Jeter plays like its whiffle ball in the back yard. So self assured and confident-meant to be. Only the Babe was more destined to be a BIG LEAGUER.
Ken Griffey Jr had that same confidence when he was hitting..like he knew he was about to enihalate that shit
One deep, wrong to say 'only', Griffey yes, and others, but having Ken Sr, to lead your way made it easier for Jr.
@@one7deep7savage7 annihilate*
David Wells looking like Bubba Ray Dudley, just needs blue camo, and nerd glasses
It's a bit irritating that they removed 90% of the graphics, and the scoreboard from the screen. Cut out those dugout conversations, as well.
@ 20:15 while Brandy is singing the national anthem,...it shows Barry Larkin w/ his little son (appears to be around 7,or 8yrs.old) who went on to star in the ncaa, playing basketball for the u.of Miami(fl),..and now plays in the NBA,....for the Jazz,....lol,...just think its weird,...this game doesn't seem all that long ago to me,...but guess I'm wrong, cause' he done been in the NBA for a few years,..smh,...lol!!,...im old af!
Brad Richardson. Yeah that’s Shane Larkin and he was on the Celtics this past season not the Jazz (he’s currently a free agent at the moment). Still crazy to watch this 18 years later and now notice that lol
Little kids giving the older kids high fives were funny the kids were like I can't Reece his hand
35:15 What did he say?
tim anderson
cat mickey
What a terrible intro...people always feel like they have to do something different...
Steroid era.
Reach not Reece
goilito no hitter jose abreu
beatrice walgreens
vince jennie
marvin
When the Expos still existed...and the Nationals didnt...lol good times
4:40 THE BABY IS LIKE OMG WHERE AM I DUDE
Yawning. Haha gana take a very good man to make her happy _)
12:02 little kids giving high fives was funny give them a high five
Played little league and it was the worse doing this after a game. Sone kids hit your wrist , some hit your hand very hard, some spit on there hand. Some would walk thru mumbling bad game bad game
anybody know the introduction theme
I do
Eric Selvig what is it
That’s the Yankees commercial wen they announce the promotional giveaways to certain gms
joe korean
10:34-10:40; "see my hands are clean, i didnt take roids"
2:12:58 this is about as much as Costas could get away with saying
@44:48 ......filth
Compare a game called by Costas to one called by Buck. Who made the decision to switch? Hope they got fired.
2:13:02. Shh a congressional hearing may happen with a comment like this ha
hated this player intro
Hey chipper can u believe in 15-20 years.your early sports card will be worth a fortune ?
Hahah. Yes a 90s card. In a industry where they make so many they aren't worth the paper they're printed on
Which one? 91’ Bowman rookie in my opinion is beautiful..
MLB or somebody needs to upload the 2000 home run derrby
