I think it sold for around 40k Canadian. I especially love the beautiful leather buttoned padded ceiling. It had a 5-speed standard stick. It also came with slanted factory smoked windows. A true classic Volva. I was only 22 years old in the Summer of 79 . I love my job but not my Germand born sale manager boss. Ironically, the owner of Meray Motors of Oakville was Austrian and was a great gentleman. I, to this day, l wish l have asked the owner if l could start as a junior salesman. I was living with an older brother with some serious gabling problems, and l was also dealing with the passing of my Dad that year. Two iconic cars from my childhood I have seen in the last two days are being brought back to the modern era. Yesterday I was on UA-cam and found out that MG were bringing out the MGB GT. And today the Volvo P1800. I love them both

I highly doubt this version of the P1800 would last 250,000 miles. Any car with digital anything is planned obsolescence. Things will break and there will be no replacement parts to keep the car going. So, it's a no for me. I would rather have the original 1962 model with all its analog, mechanical systems to take me 3 million miles.

The 1971 P1800 (for less than $3000 US) in Light Blue was a really classic piece of automotive art, I only wish at the time I had the foresight to pick one up.
