  • What is gold spot price? How much is one ounce of gold worth? What is the premium on one oz of gold? For that answers to all of these questions, I went to an expert. Sherrie is the owner of a coin shop just south of Chicago in Oak Forest, IL called Collector's Gallery. She's been a silver and gold dealer for over 30 years. The lady knows her precious metals! Whether you're just curious about learning about buying your first gold coin or gold bullion or a seasoned investor, this video will be helpful!
    As always, THANKS FOR WATCHING!

We all see plenty of dealer interviews on the various stacking channels, but Sherrie is a breath of fresh air and is just fun to chat with. Thanks for bringing her to us, and I hope we get to see more of her in the future. Interesting to see your closing credits with channel members listed. I hope it'll inspire some more of our community here to join up!! Always the good stuff here! Thanks T!

i have discovered the nature of money that would provoke the gold and cryptocurrencies market crash. If you buy put options on gold and with your influence make my theory on money known provoking the gold market crash you would become rich. Being everything else the same a country with no gold is wealthier than a country with gold that protects the mineral inside a vault. Being everything else the same imagine a country with a baker, a fishmonger and a singer with no gold and another with a baker, a fishmonger and a guard to protect gold inside a vault. Which one lives better? Which one is wealthier? The country with no gold is wealthier because the baker and fishmonger get entertained by the singer for their money but the country with gold have to work to pay the guard to protect a mineral that offers no wellbeing or wealth because is useless inside a vault. An analogy would be an innocent kid after saving his pocket money buys a bicycle and his father tells him that he can store the bicycle in a garage unused to sell it in the future, but the rent of the garage would cost him some of his pocket money or he can use and enjoy the bicycle. Which option would the kid choose? There is not benefit in buying to sell because no value is added. Do you understand? The gold becomes wealth when is used, sparing the cost of protection. Because gold is increasingly more expensive to dig out as there is less underground and is increasingly cheaper as there is more on offer overground there would be a point when nobody would be mining the mineral. How much cost the taxpayers to protect gold? Cryptocurrencies are a number but money is transferable debt, a number and a name.

T, love the content especially when you visit different LCS for an expert point of view. Could you do a video with a shop owner on store etiquette? I encounter new collectors/stackers doing all sort of crazy things such as looking over another customers shoulder, reaching for and grabbing other customer's coin and demanding the store to test their PMs without any intension to sell to the store. I think this might make a good video because more and more people are buying PMs.

One thing to consider when buying PM's... What is your exit strategy? Just about every country these days have government cash payment reporting requirements. Here in Australia spend more than $5000 cash and a permanent record is kept with the merchant. $10,000 cash and it is reported to the government. So one needs to consider how below the radar they want to fly... given Gold (as an example) is a long term investment, you don't want to find that in the future your 1 ounce coin cashed in is flagged by the government and suddenly you are under government scrutiny. This is why I buy small amounts for personal use. My company buys much larger amounts.

What I’ve been doing, myself, is I save $125 out of my paycheck every week, which is $500/Month. Then I save up for four months until I have roughly $2000-$2200, and I’ll take that money and buy a one ounce gold coin, and if there is any money left over I’ll buy some Junk Silver, like Circulated Morgans or Mercury Dimes or Silver Roosevelt Dimes.
By keeping to this schedule, I’m able to buy three ounces of Gold and several ounces of Silver every single year, and that adds up quickly over the course of five or seven years..

@@TtheSilverStacker Yes, it definitely takes a lot of discipline to stick closely to a budget. I cut corners to a certain extent, although I definitely don’t deprive myself. I’m lucky to have an income wherein I can (just barely) afford to save an average of $125 a week, and I still live fairly comfortably… I just don’t trust all this constant printing of more and more and more artificial Fiat Currency, so I like to take a pile of this increasingly worthless Fiat Paper Currency down to my LCS every four months or so and pick up a slug of Gold and possibly a couple more slugs of Silver, if there’s any Fiat Paper Currency left over after trading a stack of it for THE REAL THING, Gold…

In the U.S. the spot price is usually set on the COMEX, and is traded as a future. At one time each contract was for 400 troy oz's in gold "good delivery bars"; the contracts for silver are/were for 5000 oz's. You have to be a member of COMEX to do the trading. In the past I sold some silver, and a little gold, at the then "spot" price. But that "spot" was over four times what I purchased the bullion for years prior - at retail.

as Sherry pointed out there are so many stops along the way before it gets into her hands, kind of like a New York drug dealer lol jk so it makes me think and I know this is probably not a popular opinion with LCS owners because it would make them unnecessary an obsolete but wouldn't it be a lot nicer if we could just get straight from the refineries and mints directly without having to have a middleman (authorized purchasers etc) and without having to buy in bulk would be truly better. In this day and age there's no reason we couldn't order direct.. just think it would save a lot of for US everyday stackers.

Spot price is the paper price, it’s becoming irrelevant in comparison to the physical price. It’s how they manipulate gold and silver, they flood the market with paper gold and silver to smash down the price. I wish this ladies coin shop was close to my house as I think she has very good prices. If she’s gonna follow spot price then she’s short changing herself but I will be happy to give her my garbage fiat dollar for her real money. Lol
