Chaos at Peterborough but the freight got through.

- I went to Peterborough to film the last days of class 91 working the only diagram where a 91 goes to Edinburgh and back to London, and some other 91 workings.
But due to the overhead wires coming down at Biggleswade all trains finished and started at this station or got cancelled. I was told 91101 did the damage to the overhead wires.
Love these freight flow films,all good for model reference as to what pulled what and when,thanks for this kind of video.

Thanks Tony I used to take photos of nameplates before I got into videoing, so I have books of them which I might show one day.

Yes the driver it a good job with some sounds, plus it’s busy with sheds.
The temptation to hop aboard the empty freight trains and get a free ride to... Random.
It would be very bumpy, don’t think you would be able to hold on.

so with the main wires down you did very well indeed even getting the freight working out of Big'wade.. Peterborough is becoming a popular station for spotters and is handy for me. Nice to view this video mate.. cheers
Yes that was interesting that the freight coming up the ECML got past the obstruction 66005, and yes there was a few spotters about. Cheers Keith.

antman09ful1 I was at Doncaster same day, it was a mess getting back to York.
If I didn't know better I'd swear the OLE on this route was made from cotton thread and candy floss, such is the regularity with which it fails. I am not a frequent traveler to London but even so I've been affected by this issue a number of times. A shame about the 91s.
You would have thought the DMUs and Bi-mode IET sets could have traversed the March/Ely line to rejoin the ECML south or Cambridge...? Thats what I recall happening 3 years ago.
Yes I believe that line does get affected to many times with overhead wire problems, and they did send only two units via March but nothing came from London on that day. Thanks for your interest.

That was a good long spell there Mike! Sometimes those days when things go wrong on the network throw up some interesting movements, but it seems it just cost you some 91s. Still,.plenty of freight and a couple of bonus Class 37 workings to enjoy.

Interesting selection from a busy seesion at Peterborough. Ironic that you went there to film 91’s and it was a 91 that caused the issue with the overheads.

excellent shots of container freight👍 to see container freight i would have to go to London or further as there is no container freight through Kent even though we have the channel tunnel I like the convoy of rhtt i wonder if that was the 12 that came to tonbridge West yard as they came from Peterborough but when it arrived it had a class 66 sadly i missed it
That was a different train Barry, the 37 went to Stowmarket.

I use four different camcorders, I sure this day it was the Panasonic X920 Alan which you cannot buy new anymore.
Well it seems to me that there is quite a few who flout the YELLOW LINE Rule.
Ohhhhh and they STILL haven't sorted the Breaking issue with those Grand Central Darth Vader trains yet.

Yes if they are going North they go that way Sam.
Does the Bow-Heck also pick up at Biggleswade or are they seperate trains?

Great video but why didn't the gent in the blue top and balck pants stand with you, not in your line of sight as he did twice? Blocking someone else is something many Australian railway enthusiasts try to avoid doing. Pleasing to see much freight moving. I need to travel on that heritage railway at Peterborough if we are ever let out of our island continent.
Well thanks first for watching my video, yes like you I do my best not to stand in someone's shot, but it does happen very much, but that guy was there before me to be fair.

Why do some Class 66s seem to have different idle speeds? Some idle much faster than the ones we get in Rugby
Edit: Listen at 19:50 and again at 21:10, same sounding engine, just different speed
