    At 19:18 the shrubbery and tree growth to the right shows the course of the Axholme Joint Railway which served the Marshlands area, with Stations at Eastoft, Luddington and terminating at Fockerby on one branch and Crowle, Belton, Epworth (Home of the Wesleys) and Haxey on the other branch. At Haxey it connected with the Doncaster to Lincoln Line (Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway). The line only branched off when coming from Goole. After formal closure in 1965 it was used as a 'long siding'to take heavy parts over the Stainforth and Keadby canal at Crowle during the construction of Keadby Coal Fired Power station which opened in 1952. Lots of the track route remains and some of it is regularly used by walkers. 19:26 Marks the approximate location of the signal box and where the Marshland Junction would have been. There is still a Viaduct over the Folly and South Engine Drain south of Crowle. Lots to explore if you are in the area.

      It depends which end you are. The fan end is noisier than the other. Also they are far worse when under heavy load.

      Here it is on the later leg of that trip. You can just see the Go-pro mount on the centre window towards the bottom left (as you look at it). ua-cam.com/video/Gcy0pDqpzR0/v-deo.html

    Congrats on your GoPro. It records without the irritating barrel distortion. A great vid, I look forward to the other parts.

    I can fully understand the reasons a lot of audio wasn't recorded, but did you loop sections of the audio recorded from the rear cab? - there seems to be a little click and the recorded sound seems very repetitive? - Nice video though

    Thanks for sharing but the journey felt really slow and can only guess you had the camera zoomed in somewhat, just takes the sensation of realtime speed.

    • @RailMart
      @RailMart  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. I wasnt on the journey. The camera was set to standard view. But yes it is a slow journey. Maximum permitted speed 60mph which on a train does seem painfully slow!

    Great video, but the AWS sounds (bells & beros etc) were not heard only a couple of times? But the engine sound was constant

    • @RailMart
      @RailMart  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. In the description I explain why. "In cab sounds were recorded at both ends as Drivers were under instruction so a lot of talking was taking place in the lead cab. That is why there are some bits without AWS etc."

  • @kevinfisher4221
    @kevinfisher4221 3 роки тому +1

    NO AWS sound some times

    That strange poping/ticking sound 🤨, something in the loco interfering with your camera?
