I've owned the 2020 RX 450h Sport Performance version for 7 months, and am surprised how much I like it. Getting to the "love" stage. Traded in a 2020 Subaru Outback XT turbo 5 speed manual and expected a much more sluggish and soft cornering experience, but it's not at all a problem. MPG averaging 27.6, I've learned to be careful where I gas up. If the octane rating of the pump is wrong (not getting the gas you're paying for), MPG will be worse. It needs at least 91 octane to excel. The outdoor temperature does matter. Did you reset your MPG meter when you started driving? Has to be done at every refill/drive to know your actual MPG. No way you can compare this to the Highlander. This is a better ride, especially when you set the dial to Sport + and totally quiet in the cabin. In Sport + you can really push this around curves. Even more fun in Sport + Performance setting, but you'll lose some MPG there. Cabin is much quieter than the Highlander, and it has NO TURBO. That's a good thing. Engine kicks in seamlessly when needed, I can barely tell it went on. As for how far away you are from car ahead of you in cruise control, that distance can be adjusted. Overall a great vehicle.
The gas mileage on V6 Hybrids is night and day between summer and winter. My 2012 Highlander got 35-37 mpg all summer long, as soon as temps stayed under 40F, started dropping to 23-28, with no change in driving habits or routes.

Acura doesn't currently have an MDX hybrid lol
@@alh06 google is free... Acura manufactured the MDX Sport Hybrid from 2017-2020.
@@thivakarsaravanamuthu4744 they had the RLX and MDX Sport Hybrid. The RLX was discontinued and the started a new gen, which didn’t carryover the sport hybrid system.
@@theyadmire511 I meant in its current new model lineup. Sorry I misunderstood your original comment. I was aware of the prev-gen.
Early gang where you at?
Great Vídeo !
Needs updated badly. It ages well outside but on the inside it shows it’s age especially when you look at new Mercedes, even recent Hyundais got a lot more modern
It is a shame, that the cruise control is still NOT integrated in the steering wheel... my 2020 Corolla has it integrated. In addition... in my Corolla I can activate the cruise control at any speed.
With the Lexus I drove I could activate it past around 20mph
Unlike the base RX 350, this still has the large infotainment screen
Not a huge fan of Lexus's current styling, but this looks really good.
So just to be clear, Highlander Platinum Hybrid over the RX 450H L if you want a 3 row hybrid? Is the interior of Highlander that nice? Or is it another factor that puts it over the top?
For a Toyota it’s pretty nice. The brown interior is really impressive in the Highlander platinum. You also get more stuff vs the RX. Rear camera mirror, heated rear seats, and pano roof. Those things aren’t available in the 3 row RX ,
The 3rd row in the rx is unusable so the highlander is the way 2 go if you must choose between the 2.
Or wait for the LWB Highlander aka the Grand Highlander.
Because people want 2 wait for a car that hasn't even been seen yet just trademarked lol
Can you please use google maps insted of wase... i want to know how it looks... thanks brother
Lexus IS my dream car
I have a 2022 450h F Sport. I get 35 mpg most of the time. I find the F Sport seats uncomfortable. The side cushions are hard against my thighs and I'm not a big guy. 190 pounds. I find the infotainment system poor and the voice control infuriating. I was annoyed to find the cruise control allows overspeeding downhill. However, it drives beautifully. When I read the reviews for this car the infotainment and cruise control are never mentioned. I expected better from Lexus. It's a cop out to say you can use Android Auto.
Why does it get better gas mileage in the city than on the highway?
Hybrid systems do better in city with regenerative braking.
@@alh06 nice! Thanks for the info. I’m new to hybrids.
Nice a v6 hybrid 👍
Essa Lexus tem tecnologia imensa será que aqui no Brasil vai chegar essa Lexus?
how about the cabin noise when driving compared to the X5 or Q series or Merc GLC.
That's where it shines, very quiet
@@alh06 i saw another test between X5 and RX and he said the X5 is more quiet. The RX is only between BMW,AUDI and MErc in that. THAT would be a NoGo for me next time !
@@kubanskiloewe Ok, it’s a subjective opinion from another channel I have no idea is reliable or what they base their opinion on. The RX has an advanced system to limit noise, and wind buffeting is something Lexus is known not to have. Why would you ask the question just to give a snarky response? You do know that most reviewers aren’t reliable and this audio for this video is binaural which increases cabin noise echo sound?
@@alh06 i ask because i drive a 2010 model of this ....and one day i have to replace it ;-) .... another RX or the better X5 or Merc GL class
The F-Sport cabin noise is loud.
Why so many "surprisingly" for this luxury SUV, it's a Lexus man, no suprises there. Also Highlander is a different class, and lastly RX is not a crossover, it's a mid-size SUV!
If I got this car in 10 more years bc I’m 8 years old I will get this car in black
Is this the only Toyota vehicle ever where V6 meets CVT?
The interior doesn’t look great but it feels sooo nice, and it also drives amazing.
I love the color
a cvt? uh im not so sure now
We tried a 2021 RX 350 courtesy car as our 2018 RX 350 had to go for repair
23 mpg average? Might as well keep my Ram 5.7 hemi for towing...
the only thing I hate on this car is that the starting price here in Germany is for the F-Sport 95000 $.
You can thank your government taxes for that
@@toomuch10601 yes, unfortunately.
Amazing car
can we use regular gasoline on this one?
I have a 2021 RXh and premium is suggested.
@@tamee76 thanks. I used regular gasoline on lexus hybrid one time. Don't know what happen to the car now. But it runs well that time
Does it have door soft-close?
I think so
No they never have
