I mean AOT got a massive downgrade lol. People cope but if you look at Season Two AOT and compare it to latest AOT there is no contest which is better.
A pv isn't always a direct representation of what the anime season is gonna be like. In some cases, it could've been made before production. Though I doubt it's gonna look bad.
Not me, I've watched enough depressing adaptations that I'd just skip rather than be annoyed how much better it could've been. I'm looking at you 7 seeds.
One of the articles that I read recently that struck me the most about the anime industry was about the ass backwards culture that also dictated how it uses outside investment. If some outsider investor gave an animation studio a big windfall because say, they liked a series or something, rather than pushing that investment into those productions, they just greenlight random garbage just to preserve control and national pride. So if I was a billionaire that wanted to give Madhouse a billion dollars to make NGNL Season 2, they would just take my billion dollars and then not do it.
@@GeraltofRivia22 You're talking to us like all of these companies investing into anime like they have no idea what a contract is. You figured it out. Only you. You revolutionized the anime business. Contracts.
if you were a billionaire surely you would start your own studio, hire staff and give them the proper time and pay, then release a masterpiece. or is it not that simple?
Personally, I saw no dip in animation quality from season 1 cour 1 to cour 2, I even like cour 2 much more. That's the case because I love the story, the worldbuilding and character depth in Mushoku Tensei first. For sure, the solid soundtrack and mindblowing animation helped, but the writing is what made MS a masterpiece and the reason I started reading the LN after the anime cour 2 ended. Furthermore, the new trailer still looks amazing, better not go berserk without reason, MS will still look better than 90% of modern anime. I don't believe this will be a One Punch Man Season 2, it's the same studio, they can't fuck this up so bad. I believe in Studio Bind that they will do a job at adapting Mushoku Tensei Season 2. We must remember White Fox created Studio Bind mainly to adapt MS. This is the reason this studio event exists.
@@crisocval143 well, I enjoy the experience of the show, I don't look at every edge in the scene to search for problems and I watched the show weekly as it aired. I think you should watch some trash isekai to see what bad animation looks like
Just out of interest what volume does the end of cour 2 is. Just finished cour 2 and hyped for the new season this summer and was thinking of reading the LN or Manga
@@carlovejano5741 I think the 2 cours of season 1 cover volume 1 to 6 of the LN. So, if you want to read ahead, you can start with volume 7. I suggest reading the LN, it is the original source of the story (the manga is an adaptation of the LN, so they can change stuff, cut content) and start with volume 1. The anime is as close to a perfect adaptation as it gets, but they skipped over some scenes, so if you want to get all the details it's better to do it that way. The LN is quite captivating, worth your time.
Directing is far more important than pure animation quality. OPM s2 could have been not as utterly horrendous if directing wasn't horrible. (even with actually decent sound design and not completely destroying Saitama as a character, it would have been significantly more tolerable+ a few other terrible decisions, non of which are an issue of time) Fortunately the director for MT s2 seems good. I think he did the 1st pre-animated PV, which was very nicely directed. What little can be seen from the new PV, looks quite good also. Many elements that show good directing. So I'm not really worried there. Animation in the PV wasn't as polished and detailed perhaps as it could have been, but it was still pretty good. We'll have to wait and see more, for animation. But rest looks great. Same art director is a big one.
The PV looked fine to me. The shots that some people got upset about were mid frames as far as I am concerned which will always look not as good as key frames. The only thing I expect from season 2 is they stick as close or closer to the source material as they did with season 1 and then the animation and art quality still be good. Maybe not as good as season one since that was the first big thing they did so it NEEDED to be good to get more investors and money coming in. People just dont have realistic expectations cause they have no life experience or knowledge on the industry.
So the insinuation is being content with average animation after being shown great art...... despite the lack of consistency or integrity of the art.....
I bet first episode drops and the animation is as good as ever and everyone was getting worked up over nothing. Don't make an ass out of yourself by making assumptions and if you're really snobbish about quality then wait for the Blu-rays.
Update: Idolmaster U149 was incredible. And not only thanks for experienced animators who were mentioned in this video, but also many almost new artists who participated and were very well directed by the director. After A-1 ended their relationship with the Idolmaster projects, Cygames decided to take U149's project into their own hands with their own animation studio, and this is because Cinderella Girls has a great relationship with CyGames since 2011. (besides CyComics is U149's manga publisher)
After watching it a few more times, it’s definitely not the animation that is really dipping , more of the character design of rudues since they had to give him a new look as he’s more grown up
Most likely people weren't going to even notice the downgrade tbh, it's just easy to nitpick on trailers that people keep rewatching compared to episodes, the anime would need inconsistencies like Re: Zero S2 and Komi S2 to people actually care as much as they did with this trailer, but worst case scenario is probably just some awkward design in the faces that can be easily corrected later on for blu-ray
I wouldnt be surprised if the faces were corrected by the time the season came out since its most likely simple to do those kind of minor adjustments after seeing how the community reacted to it.
@@Zarastro54 Nah, Re:Zero S2 had a bunch of problems that ended up being much more noticeable by the second part. Characters were drawn off model a lot, and animation was noticeably rushed and more static.

Holy shit. I know this is grossly off topic but the editing in this video is astounding. The way Phenom seamlessly meshes different scenes from other shows and the music choice and volume of it is absolutely incredible. I can't gush enough about the masterful editing.
Fuck… I understand that talented individuals won’t stay simply because they want to keep the overall aesthetics to stay the same, but damnit… they should’ve built it into Mengoku Tensei’s contract. Such a waste. I mean, I’m sure it’ll still be good. But that first season was unreal.
I mean think of the first season and the first cour in particular as a big marketing endeavor for the studio itself as Mushoku Tensei was the first anime they had under their belt as their own production. So ofc it would look fantastic. I still believe that season 2 will look amazing though. Maybe some downgrades but overall still look great especially when it should look great.
As an anime veteran, I have long since completely abandoned of solely following a creative of any kind in anime. As you said they move around so much, that really the only constant are the "moods" the studios decide they want to bet on that year. Anything can be masterpiece, anything can be trash, and it is a joy trying to find it.
Mushoku season 1 was so perfect, those colors, those frames, music, everything... and this story deserves that quality and dedication. I'm waiting so bad for this season 2, and I just want to feel the way I felt with season 1, it was so magical for me, this story really hits my heart in a deeply way. For me, it doesn't really matter who is in the staff, I just want to see the same dedication, the same love and the same magic. Please God, we all want the same 🙏🏻❤
The color design lead and sound director remained the same when staff was announced so honestly no reason to worry about that and as far as animation goes I personally think it will be fine. The pre-production period before season one was quite lengthy so it wouldn't surprise me if scheduling conflicts such as the ones mentioned for season 2 were anticipated far in advance and most of the important fundamental design assets for the series as a whole have already been produced.
Thanks for making this video Phenom! I genuinely couldn't believe the fear mongering that came from that trailer. The show still looks really freaking great from that PV, yet people find themselves very easily assuming the worst...It was cool getting a deep dive into the team behind this new season through this video, and its even better hearing the message you're trying to push: "Change is totally normal, and its okay to feel a little conflicted by it, but you can still enjoy change, if you're willing to give it a chance".
Definetly worried more about the scheduling ;; I would prefer it release much much later (2024) if it means better quality and especially if it means less work pressure for the people working on the studio. But unfortunately anime industry today isnt like that.
My thoughts exactly ✋ While.... I guess it'd be ok to release it this year, I'd still rather wait a year or two to watch it with the highest quality they can produce lol
even if there were a lot of amazing staff that left, we shouldn't ignore the people who still do their best to animate mushoku tensei because honestly i never even noticed the animation change because im way too focused on the dman story
I honestly never noticed either until it was pointed out to me. I think I just focus so much elsewhere that unless its blatantly bad I dont notice the little things.
Honestly, I believe that staff changes are like double edged swords. Sometimes they lead to downgrades within an anime and sometimes they provide massive upgrades that exceeds everyone's expectations. As they say, "There is always a greater talent out there."
The fact that crunch still exists despite such a frankly, _overwhelming_ output of series for both the video game industry and anime, bothers the hell out of me. Dude, these studios should take their time, market their series later into production, players/watchers will be plenty stocked up on a backlog while we wait for something to be good, I hate that we get rushed development of stuff when it's not like we have nothing to do while we wait. An excess output of different anime at lower quality is not at all preferable to the alternative because it's not like people are gonna be able to watch all of it. I'm not worried about S2 though, hopefully this video and my opinion don't become dated.
I just hope a show like ONIMAI isn’t the reason Mushoku Tensei is losing part of what made it so spectacularly special. Sending talent to shows like Chainsaw Man is great, but I just can’t shake the dreadful disappointment hearing that Mushoku Tensei might suffer because of a show about an otaku getting transformed into a loli. That just… will never sit right with me. EDIT: I didn’t even get to the part where the director shuffled over to an idol show. Salt in the wound! Jesus!
Its perfectly fine, not every single episode has to be a visual master piece. The Imperfections are what make something as memorable as the perfection of its best moments.
Anybody help me find the anime shown, I am looking for some new shows to watch and am intrigued by some of the sakuga clips in the video that I do not recognize. If you know any of them, please help me. What is the show that appears at 1:09 with the blue neon light up worm chasing the man and woman? The blue haired lady running down the pipe at 1:28? Two people in a raft taking on a giant wave at 1:35? At 2:57, the green haired girl kicking a bug monster which explodes? The tiny cat girl with the hammer at 3:15? The golems being shot at by pyromancers at 3:21? The punk grey skinned guys on sand boats with a big one wielding a hook at 3:52 to 3:56?
Dw guys. This upcoming season (at least the second cour) will have very little action so this is fine. The first cour is gonna be a bit worrying but we'll see how it goes. The pv looks great regardless and I'm very excited for it.
I was thinking this too, so there shouldn't be much of a problem since there is less crazy action sequences. That being said though, I recent reread the light novel volumes that cover the next season and there is honestly enough action, well paced out, that they could have one good action sequence per episode for most of the 1st cour of season 2, even though the latter half of the 1st cour is one of the most mild sections of the entire series.
I am just speechless at those who haven't felt the difference from s1. I have been disappointed week after week when the episodes churn out because I feel the differences. And I been asking myself if it'll be better. I hope it won't go down the path where it becomes engulfed with people and directors and animation so main stream isekai, fan service-y & streched for the purpose of commercializing every lively bit of it.
I binged the entirety of this show, and I think because I was so engrossed in the rich story and world I was experiencing, I didn't even really notice the changes in direction that much. Or maybe I'm just some fool who has no refined eye for those kinds of differences
Season 2 is pretty good, even though they did lose a lot of great people, but the one thing I'm not happy with personally is the addition of a full intro, as opposed to characters doing daily, mundane, everyday tasks with music in the background. That could've been done mostly because season 2 is a slow arc, but still. (Also the time skip was also a bit jarring this time, but i don't think that has anything to do with the director themself)
it makes me sad whenever the continuation of a show can't keep up the first season's quality, but equally i'm happy that these amazing talents are giving smaller series the love and dedication they deserve. I can't complain that Bind's top staff moved to Onimai because i might have never fallen in love with that series if it wasn't for all the love and attention to detail put into every single part of its production, but i'm also sad at the possibility of season 2 not living up to the same standard. That being said, i'll still watch Moshoku Tensei S2, Onimai S2, Bocchi The Rock S2, etc. even if the quality of these adaptations doesn't live up to season 1 because i already love those shows. And who knows, maybe the staff who skipped out on working on the continuation of my favorite series end up pouring their hearts into something that i end up loving even more.
@11:04 I just share a screenshot of his works to complainers because though Hirano's total list may be small, most of them were either huge franchises or one of the best looking anime of that season or year. People say he worked on nothing notable when he worked on Akame Ga Kill (a personal favorite), Fate/Apocrypha which say what you will had great animation and sound design imo, RE:ZERO, SAO Alicization, and obviously mushoku tensei. This man has a great resume so I got faith in him regardless.
he also wokred on the last ep of seven deadly sins s2 witch is one of if not the best in the series so all that and i think he is just as qualified for the job
@@zextruh9862 "terrible" Im so done with you people, its either perfection or its dogshit. As a berserk fan if I had an episode that looked this good I'd be the happiest man alive.
Regarding your last point, I’m pretty sure Mushoku actually has quite a good schedule. I mean it’s clear they’re not afraid to take more time if they need it (both cours of s1 were delayed a season), and s2 was announced in March of last year which presumably is after production had started. Any dip in quality is just purely because staff changes I think and even then the PV looks great. The only thing that stood out to me were the character designs which can easily still be corrected. Also Manabu Okamoto left because it was literally his dream job to direct idol masters so there you go that was the biggest reason most likely.
What I most liked about it (besides the story), is the photography and the art. Those vivid backgrounds gave so much life that I'm glad it isn't compromised. All the trailers still give me the chills and I just can't wait for Mushoku Tensei to come back.
I am sadly not surprised people who stuck around still have the ability to have an issue with season 2. Having read the manga, ill give a protip *this season is going to be a bit slow compared even to season 1, like I think 80% of it is characters talking and no action.
Is season2 bad? I'm an only anime watcher who doesn't read any manga or ln or wn. I think it's pretty good, there's not much fighting but still I didn't get bored with every episode. Still 10/10 like season 1, can't wait for second cour XD
I would not be surprised if the staff members just switch based on what's necessary for the episodes. Season 2 is rather mellow in comparison to season 1 so far.
A simple way to look at it is to imagine a production team as a professional soccer club. Imagine you get the best player IN THE WORLD for each and every position on the field, and by a miracle, they all have world-class team coordination and fit together perfectly. At that point, there's quite literally nowhere to go but down. You can't improve on something that's as good as it'll ever get if you're losing some highly skilled team members. The only option is to either completely collapse as a team, or find new talented team members to sub in and help mitigate the damage until team cohesion and overall skill can climb back up to what it was. And we're very lucky that it appears to be the latter
Before watching: Guys chill it's propably just prerendered scenes. Teaser to S1 had similar issues, it just better hide them, just compare scenes from anime to those from trailer.
They're worrying too much. People, the season isn't starting with a main arc that's why the studio might be cutting edges. Once they reach Begaritt, it's gonna be better than ever.
Honestly, if you think people are going to need to wait until begaritt, you have forgotten most of what happens from end of season 1 all the way up to begaritt. I recently reread it in preparation for the new season and I myself completely forgot just how much action there is before begaritt. The adventurer part is great, they still also need to tell slyphy's story, and there is a surprising amount of action during the university arc.
It’s gonna have to be 30+ episodes because it covers a lot of the ln in the trailers it shows up to turning point 3 and could in theory make it close to mid way to turning point 4. But it will make it to turning point 3 for sure because we see it in the trailer. And I imagine turning point 4 to be at the beginning of s3.
I hope they stop at LN12... Because LN13 sounds like a great place to start a new season, LN14/15 are a great story but it needs that build up to be in the same season.
Transitions in staff are difficult to manage but they are eventual and demonstrating that a series can survive such transitions is also very important. Fortunately, the writing and lore is established so there should be some consistency maintained.
I'm fine with the animation quality going down. I'm still invested in the anime and now curious about the manga. I would love for it to be the best looking thing on the market, but some of my favorite franchises aren't the most appealing to the eyes.
It's gorgeous. I think it's gone from fast-paced action to slower and detailed back grounds. It really reminds me a lot of Hayao Miyazaki movies with the water painted looking super detailed back drops with animation over it. Especially when they were in the north and they cut to scenery. Stunning back grounds.
Mushoku tensei is Mushoku tensei I'm happy that it's getting a S2, Depressed magician arc is one of the best in the novels, the arc after is crazy too, I'm honestly surprised how much they are going to cover based off of the trailer, manga/anime only fans are going to go wild if they truly do animate what I think they will
Bygone is the era of the weekly animes. One Piece and Boruto are the remnants of that. Both still have the "sit through a bunch of mediocre episodes to get to something really really hype" mindset.
Ss2 being a downgrade is something we can all see from the trailers, u dont need to know the industry or the staff behind it to notice this. But honestly, this is pretty much the norm for long running series to have this "problem", just get over it. And a lot of the staff members like the director n character designer left for projects they were more passionate in, so Im glad for them. There r always gonna be ppl defending it saying that it looks just as good as ss1, or ppl doomposting abt how it s owari da, but in the end it doesnt rlly matter as long as they adapt it well. One of the best recent adaptations imo was Eminence in Shadow. The overall production quality was above average, but they did an amazing job w what they got, and knew what part to focus on and what part to drop, and that made an amazing piece of art that was more than the sum of its parts. I am ofc sad that the overall quality is gonna be lower, but hey, cour 2 was a downgrade from cour 1, but that didnt take away from the powerful narrative moments of this series that made me cry multiple times. And while this might be another case of OPM, I honestly doubt it, I ll give studio Bind my trust because I ve yet to see a bad work from them
What I enjoy most about Mushoku Tensei is the world, so as long as the story keeps being interesting I don't really mind if it doesn't look as good as season 1.
I got used to the idea that the first season of an new anime will be a banger then looses a some quality production in the next, just because how hectic their planning of releases, sometime you can notice if it was rushed or just half way finished but needs to be published, the only thing important to me is the flow will be the same, evetually an episode will look good. just pls, they need to stop the idea of changing production or studio to the next season then change the flow of the story and art direction just to be on time each season. to me one of the reason why they sometimes rush to publish a season is because they don't want the hype for that anime to die because a new and more popular series over shadow them.
I actually wonder if we're confusing change with drops in quality. Of course different people will have different visions for the same project, and I sometimes interrogate myself and the debates online if that feeling of lower quality doesn't come from any objective parameter of what good art should be, but a human reaction to latch on to what feels comfortable and safe versus something new and uncertain. Take the enw Trigun for example, the CG animation of that series is of higher quality than any other anime studio can produce but it still got the anime fans rallying because it wasn't the same as the original. Just maybe similar biases exist in production changes like this, but at a more subtle level that we couldn't immediately pick up on. And I agree with you that the PV wasn't even bad, the only thing that I could think of that people are mad about was that one shot where Rudy was a slight bit off model because of the perspective.
Okay so episode 0 of s2 just dropped,I'm kinda ehh about it.The main issue I had really isn't with the animation. The episode's story is kinda meh, nothing substantial happens for the most part.Despite the somewhat weak prelude,I'm still very excited and optimistic about what Mushoku Tensei s2 have in store for the us.
I feel the same way. I’m a little nervous. I just picked this anime up on Thursday and finished it on Saturday, so I can only imagine how other long-time fans are feeling.
To be honest, I don't really care about studio circumistances, I just want my MT to be great. If fair enough of OG staff left that's bad for sure, but if that's happen usually in industry it also mean OTHER big names could be hired in their stead (though thanks to this particular video I became more optimistic about director. I mean just look on Hataraku Maou-sama that went from basically classic to boring s**t just by changing studio. I don't want MT meet same fate and I will blame studio if it does. All that said I still hope for best, even if I expect worst.
It's only slightly noticeable, and to be honest I don't really care. The scenes that require the attention to detail still get all that attention, it's the throwaway stuff in between that's a little janky. That being said, it's also the story that I care about, so it could look like ass and I'd still enjoy it.
The best thing we can do as fans is buy the shows we enjoy and want more of. Licensed streaming sites are great and I love them, but if you want to support the project, industry, and people involved, the best way to do that is to purchase the series when it's released. Thankfully this is something that is very easy to do because so much anime today gets English releases and even some Japanese releases have English subtitles.
It's very sad to see how people always demand and demand, but almost never stop to think, or put an effort on their part, to truly understand the anime industry, how it works, and what and what we can't expect from it. On the other side of each stroke, each painted background, each character design, there are people behind it, people with feelings, and who, due to their culture, go out of their way putting all their effort into what they do, and for what? Everything so that some supposed "fans" come and spend their time saying everything that is wrong with this or that. Criticism is important as long as it is constructive, but that is not what we are doing.
I started reading the LN, got through 3, and I couldn't care less. I just wanna see the emotional rollercoaster that is the first three after season 1 animated.
I think the REAL issue with Japanese Studios is that season 1 is like really good appetizer something SUPER good to bring in the LN and Manga fans initially in the hopes of it going viral as much as possible. THEN quality dips in season 2- X till usually just before the climax of a series which most don't go past 60-90 episodes now a days so say 4-5 seasons with 15ish a cour maybe less with OVAs or a movie to keep interest up whichever but it's mainly a GO BIG EARLY and GO BIG LATE supplemented with "If there are any BIG scene's that matter" having put the extra money into those area's as well. Like a good example Bleach or One Piece they tried doing that with Attack on Titan but the naming and scheduling just made things worst. The best example is probably Mob Psycho and I wouldn't doubt the reason for One Punch Man's taking it's time due to the overall ending of the Garou Arc being an animators dream with all the fighting scenes and wanting it to PoP. Overall it just seems that's how studio's are going even the DIP in animation might be purposeful like an YOU HAVE TO WATCH SEASON 2 THE QUALITY IS A DOWNGRADE you watch and it's only marginal but the Hype train is out and it makes viewers want to see for themselves as well. People need to really think about how media in general is made you want your 4k IMAX shots of Big Action Sequences not the MC standing in line at Coffee Shop getting product placement, is all about where the money goes and where, is what makes overall bangers, bangers!
I don't give a darn about Sakuga in fact I sometimes find it distracting. I enjoyed Jobless Reincarnation for the story and characters which don't come from the Anime staff at all but the original Novel which some fans of show think was written by Lewis Carrol was born. The reason why I refused to watch it for so long was because of how the way certain people praised it presented it as some Deconstructive Anti-Otaku Anime. But it's not, it's just a little critical of it's Protagonist sometimes as Otaku Anime always have been. "Money can't buy Waifus" is as Otaku as you can get and the show doesn't paint it as a bad thing that he said that, it's part of his first Big Hero moment.
I'm saying this as a Light Novel reader, but maybe just read the LN if you find sakuga distracting lmao. Holy shit that is such a wild opinion, but respects, you do you.
@@Kuudere-KunThe LN's are pretty good, and from what I've read, they aren't that badly translated. Unless your reading Web novels which are good at best.

Maybe because they are literally in a frozen wasteland biome currently. I just don't get how we're dissapointing ourselves so early for something that hasn't even been fully released yet.
my only fear is that some of the "direction" is going away. when nearly all of mobs staff remained except the director change despite the amazing quality of the animation, the talentnted staff and great source material it still feels like the quality never reached the highs of season 2. mob was still great, but there was a lot missing. also peole thought mushoku pv was bad?

The manga features so many better scenes and moments. its like the new director just reset the story instead of keeping it going........ its so fucking bad i cant xplain. its only 2 episodes now but it is so dissapointing. This can be a problem, many people would not have seen the series or would have dropped it if it were not for its audiovisual quality and its world, if they reduce that, added to the fact that this arc is not so impressive, nor does it reveal many things, and it is limited a few locations, it is a recipe for criticism
Would be just lovely if you make like those sakuga videos where they will put the subtitles with the series and artist name, there are a lot of masterpieces inthis videos that just flash before my eyes and I'll stay here itching to watch them without really knowing their name.
This is why we need to use ai to make a database of backgrounds and characters faces That would free up more animation movements and animators could get time off and do a show alone if they wanted to

if you were a billionaire surely you would start your own studio, hire staff and give them the proper time and pay, then release a masterpiece. or is it not that simple?
I loved part 2 as much as part 1, but you got to be blind to not see the dip in quality and consistence in the second part of the season.
(even with actually decent sound design and not completely destroying Saitama as a character, it would have been significantly more tolerable+ a few other terrible decisions, non of which are an issue of time)
Fortunately the director for MT s2 seems good.
The new director has already directed Episodes 1,2,6,9 and 10. Personally based on the quality of the episodes I think he will do very well!
Fr. He literally directed the beginning of the series. He did an amazing job as well
if he did 1 and 2 and then he's pretty much the director of both seasons imo. why be upset
he also did the ep 3 and 25 of re zero which was like turning points of the anime so he do fine.
I dunno man, he directs good but he can't be drawing all those frame.
I’m here after episode 0-3 and they all are really good
The PV looked fine to me.
I'd pay good money to see the series finished with the current quality. They need just take them, I bet I ain't alone.
I bet first episode drops and the animation is as good as ever and everyone was getting worked up over nothing. Don't make an ass out of yourself by making assumptions and if you're really snobbish about quality then wait for the Blu-rays.
@静江 Don't know what you're being a whiny bitch about, episodes 0 through 2 have looked fine just fine to me.
There was a dip in quality? I didn't even notice, lol.
I didn’t even notice animation problems with Re: Zero and Komi S2. I thought the biggest issues with them were translation errors?
@@Zarastro54 Nah, Re:Zero S2 had a bunch of problems that ended up being much more noticeable by the second part. Characters were drawn off model a lot, and animation was noticeably rushed and more static.
@@ramennnoodle I only noticed those on my 3rd rewatch, so it's not a big deal. (Except for the "I know hell" scene, that scene deserved much better.)
@@ahmadmanga Sheesh, I hadn’t really thought about Re:zero having downgrades myself, or at least I don’t remember feeling like that, but rewatching the ”I know hell” scene you mentioned… yikes, definitely not their best work
One Punch man season 1 vs season 2 is a great example of what you're talking about.
Heartbreaking
Animation wise, it’s definitely a downgrade, but the story shouldn’t suffer because of it. I hope.
i mean it is a different director tho so im kinda worried
@@kurokishizx the new director did 5 eps from s1, also did script and storyboarding for like most of the season, I highly doubt we'll have a problems in that department.
If the story gets adapted poorly that would piss me of far, far more than the animation getting downgraded
@@kurokishizx I wouldnt be. The new director was heavily involved in the first season plus the author of the series will still be involved in decision making.
Trailer says otherwise cough cough rush
They're not paid enough unfortunately, people need to pay rent and buy food :/
@@nikm3r Oh, I know. It’s a shame how little animators get paid, while also working ungodly schedules.
This team getting good leadership from the get-go has turned this isekai into a masterpiece and season 2 so far is very impressive
It seems so slow tho. Where’s the crazy action
First cour character developme t and Second cour Action.
@@55was So far it's more character development, but I'll let it cook
Please God, we all want the same 🙏🏻❤
Yeah, that one I look really forward to. One of my all time favorite series.
My thoughts exactly ✋
While.... I guess it'd be ok to release it this year, I'd still rather wait a year or two to watch it with the highest quality they can produce lol
@@randyrandom3358 and the blu ray will have a lot of improvements so I think it’s fine

I think the most offputting thing of the season 2 trailer is the character designs, specifically Rudeus looks off.
Hey, Kids grow up...
@@damanrando7608 Yes, but that doesn't make their forehead look off compared to the position of their eyes
@@jonahbradley4593 imo it look fine
Honestly his eyes just look smaller to me, which I though was just a sign of him growing up, and I think it looks better than his season 1 design
I hope It's just awkward camera angle, because i remember rudeus in the ln being much more gorgeus and handsome
They really pulled an UNO reverse card on us in season 2 after ending season 1 with Rudeus coming to terms and accepting himself in the new world
even if there were a lot of amazing staff that left, we shouldn't ignore the people who still do their best to animate mushoku tensei because honestly i never even noticed the animation change because im way too focused on the dman story
Jesus!
Sure doesn't feel like a downgrade. Imo this video didn't age well.
Also, the gun girl in the dark at 3:23 which looks like a horror/mystery anime?
After looking at the 2nd pv, we still got good animation, no cg dragon or bear crowd scene so I'm still on hopium.
The animation quality still looks great, imo. I don't understand the hate. i didn't noticed any big difference between s1 and s2
Not at all ep2 looks shit
The quality drop of the animation is fine, but I'm rather displeased with them going to the canned intro.
I just watched episode 2 and there was literally a beautiful pointless sakuga scene of Rudeus saving some girl. The animation is still pretty good.
@@zextruh9862 "terrible" Im so done with you people, its either perfection or its dogshit. As a berserk fan if I had an episode that looked this good I'd be the happiest man alive.
I think I will still watch it as long as they don't mess with the story 🙏
Wich always will be Mushokus strongest Point.
Also Manabu Okamoto left because it was literally his dream job to direct idol masters so there you go that was the biggest reason most likely.
after 5 month, it does has downgrade, but as a slice of life arc, is actually pretty great still not really bothering me
What I most liked about it (besides the story), is the photography and the art. Those vivid backgrounds gave so much life that I'm glad it isn't compromised. All the trailers still give me the chills and I just can't wait for Mushoku Tensei to come back.
I had no idea season 2 was even on the way so soon. I was expecting Winter 2024 at the earliest. Hype!!!
Can i just say it's Season 2 Part 1 yes its a ''Downgrade'' but the Part 2 will be a Giant Upgrade
Hope so
bro was way wrong
Make a video on the new pv , love your videos man
They're worrying too much.
@@Michaelonyoutub oh yeah. The university arc is also important. Man i wish they go all out with the animation on atleast the snow cave part.
It was amazing the intro was a story every time
All the small details the easter eggs 🪺
I'm fine with the animation quality going down. I'm still invested in the anime and now curious about the manga. I would love for it to be the best looking thing on the market, but some of my favorite franchises aren't the most appealing to the eyes.
People are seriously complaining about this?? This is nothing to worry about, just be happy this isn’t shield hero s2 adaption
Mushoku tensei is Mushoku tensei I'm happy that it's getting a S2, Depressed magician arc is one of the best in the novels, the arc after is crazy too, I'm honestly surprised how much they are going to cover based off of the trailer, manga/anime only fans are going to go wild if they truly do animate what I think they will
5 months after and its one of the best seaons I've ever seen of an anime the character development and dialogues are insane
Back in my day, we waited 10+ episodes before getting any sort of decent action. Usually much longer. But we did it for those glorious moments.
And while this might be another case of OPM, I honestly doubt it, I ll give studio Bind my trust because I ve yet to see a bad work from them
I can understand the decrease in quality and frankly I don’t care cuz so far I’m enjoying mushoku tensei as much as I did the first season
What I enjoy most about Mushoku Tensei is the world, so as long as the story keeps being interesting I don't really mind if it doesn't look as good as season 1.
Good video. Very stabilizing. Thanks for posting.
S1 was a banger. If they keep up the same quality, they are gonna keep the nr1 Anime place, at least in my heart.
Fantastic video. Please do more Mushoku Tensei reviews or general videos during Season 2. 🙏
Yo homie what you lookin' forward to next season
To be honest, I don't really care about studio circumistances, I just want my MT to be great. If fair enough of OG staff left that's bad for sure, but if that's happen usually in industry it also mean OTHER big names could be hired in their stead (though thanks to this particular video I became more optimistic about director. I mean just look on Hataraku Maou-sama that went from basically classic to boring s**t just by changing studio. I don't want MT meet same fate and I will blame studio if it does.
All that said I still hope for best, even if I expect worst.
I personally haven't seen a downgrade in the animation quality. Maybe I'm blind?
Not blind but you need to feel it
It's only slightly noticeable, and to be honest I don't really care.

I think that due to the content of the arc top tier animation isnt really needed
It still looks beautiful, and I am still gonna rewatch it at least seven times.
@@zenrythebard5587 Because I'm too lazy to read and LNs are usually pretty badly translated anyway.
@@Kuudere-KunThe LN's are pretty good, and from what I've read, they aren't that badly translated. Unless your reading Web novels which are good at best.
@@Poplyser Your profile pic is a Detective Conan picture, nice.
@@Kuudere-Kun Wow, you're the first person to say where this profile picture is from.
11:00 WAIT, he directed Ep22? Then the series in a safe hand, it was the 2nd most beautifully directed episode after Ep21.
Im not even gonna lie I got pissed when I saw the title of this videos but you are really good at your job. This made me smile, being a die-hard MT fan I personally didn't see anything wrong with the PV mostly just the coloring was dry. However, this video was awesome man. Can't wait for IDOLM@STER too.
Are the background artists really the same? Watching the second episode of season 2 I'm having serious doubts about that, however episode 0 and 1 looked better, so I don't know what's going on here.
2:55 what show is this?
I know a bit about studios, but how do I get into knowing the people working on the animes
Thank you for shout out's to creative teams, please keep it up, since these people are our generation's great artists
That's a nice cat edit at 3:43 lol
THIS VIDEO IS IRRELEVANT THE ANIME IS STILL FIRE ANIMATIONS AND ALL
This video was actually pretty informative. Thanks!
People need to calm down. I saw people saying it’s ruined and all this but just wait to watch it. It’s so annoying lol. Re:Zero season 2 was also a visual downgrade but it was still incredible
What anime is that at 1:07?
Heavenly Delusion
I am so unbelieveably annoyed. Season 2 just aired and none of it is showcased in the manga or novel version. The manga features so many better scenes and moments. its like the new director just reset the story instead of keeping it going........ its so fucking bad i cant xplain. its only 2 episodes now but it is so dissapointing. Where is the hunting for his goal? Where is the thoughts about his mom? Where is the man god??????? Like bro cmon. they completely abandoned the original story atp.. i hope it gets better
The stuff airing is Canon material, it wasn't included in the Manga or web novel but it's in the light novel
@@zextruh9862 it just doesnt make sense that in those 2 episodes he basically findes a new “eris”. Its so annoying that This guy Cannot stick to his goals😭
You need to chill
This can be a problem, many people would not have seen the series or would have dropped it if it were not for its audiovisual quality and its world, if they reduce that, added to the fact that this arc is not so impressive, nor does it reveal many things, and it is limited a few locations, it is a recipe for criticism
Would be just lovely if you make like those sakuga videos where they will put the subtitles with the series and artist name, there are a lot of masterpieces inthis videos that just flash before my eyes and I'll stay here itching to watch them without really knowing their name.
This is why we need to use ai to make a database of backgrounds and characters faces
That would free up more animation movements and animators could get time off and do a show alone if they wanted to
Great Video man, You're verry underrated
