Low profile tires look nice, but they eventually suck. You start to feel the bumps and road roughness within the first month of ownership. You especially regret after getting in a regular tire car and realize how smooth the ride.
It depends upon what you want from your car.
I don't want a smooth ride, I want to feel every bump in the road, I want to know if the guy paving it was a seasoned pro or a newbie to the job. If there are rocks on the road, I want to feel them.
I don't want a luxo-boat ride.
@@VideoArchiveGuyuntil an average pothole destroys the tires and wheels
@@brittgayle467 You have to avoid the potholes.
I know sometimes you can't, but I drove cars with low profile tires around Colorado for over twenty years and damaged a tire once (not a flat but I got a sidewall bulge) but never had to replace a wheel.
Regular car tires are definitely squirrely/squirmy to me, and regular cars handle like boats.
@@VideoArchiveGuy come to Baltimore, where the roads are filled with potholes; I think I had three flats over three years but no serious wheel damage. Many weren’t as lucky though.
@@brittgayle467 Then probably not the best place to purchase a vehicle with low-profile tires.
Not surprised how many ppl would never buy a Nissan again. They have dropped so badly it’s insane. They were neck and neck with Toyota & Honda in reliability at one time. The big 3 in Japan is no longer Toyota, Honda, Nissan.
It’s now Toyota, Honda, Mazda.
Actually Mazda isn't reliable at all. So it wasn't.
That's why nobody compares Toyota/Honda with Mazda..
2018 Note. I’m done with Nissan. Poor workmanship all around. Mazda, here I come!
If nissan altimas are so bad, how come you see so many and they seem to be running just fine.
@@paul5683
Maybe they got a good deal? My local Nissan has these flyers all around their dealership and also on local social media where they stack their cars up against the competition. And then they add things like 5 months paid free or 0 down and 0% for the first year and so on. For example, my next door neighbor traded her perfectly working 2013 Highlander for a 2024 Nissan Rogue. I asked her why she didn’t want another Toyota and she said she got a really good deal on the Rogue.
Mind you this is with that new 3 cylinder variable compression engine with the cvt. New tech again from Nissan. Sigh. Who knows how this new engine and tranny hold up?
Edit: Just found out that her Highlander is actually a 2009 and had 250,000 miles before she traded it in. Only traded it in because she had corrosion on the roof and was leaking every time it rained. Here’s hoping that her new Rogue lasts her. Hopefully Nissan engineering and workmanship has gotten better.

I take it those top 10 vehicles that people would never buy again probably has to do with bad reliability, bad CVT, problems with the engines, and costly maintenance.
My wife has a 2021 AWD Seltos. Its reliability is fine. The headlights suck but other than that, it's not so bad. It gets good gas mileage, is easy to park, and has good interior space. The headlights are narrow slits and don't let out a ton of light. Because of that we wouldn't get it again.
@@thullraven1 Buy after market lights from PIAA or one of the other exterior lighting makers ! Its not that hard & videos here on how to !
@@ag4allgood Thanks. The problem is that the design of the headlight housing is narrow, like a Camaro, so it affects the output. I will look into it. Thanks again.
@@thullraven1 I had a car I really liked years ago but the headlights were pretty weak. I added a pair of PIAA lights to the front on each side & the result was a wide path of light to see many feet in front of the car. The problem was on the highway especially at 65 mph I was not able to see far enough ahead. Almost nailed a Box doing 70 mph didn't see it until feet away so I swerved avoiding that Box. That is what made me put the PIAA driving lights on my car.
@@ag4allgood Thanks again. I didn't know that was an option. 👍
3:17. What Corolla only lasts 180k miles? That’s barely broken in when you’re talking about a Toyota.
It’s an average you have a lot of people who don’t take care of their vehicles. The people who do maintenance regularly get the traditional 275-350k miles out of theirs.
Toyotat's can go 300,000 or 400,000 miles if taken are of. The Corollla and Camry are the most reliable cars
@@Rider-hh9it toyotas do not rust out anymore. haven't for bout 20+ years. the only way they rust out is if they've been in a wreck where the bare metal gets exposed.
@@davinp I’m aware they can get that high 275k-350k isn’t an insult though.

I have the QX50 and I agree. It's not a bad looking car, but the infotainment system is dated (wish it had the QX60 updates) and the CVT is wonky at times - the gear slips or gets confused and theres delayed acceleration sometimes. If I was to buy a SUV now (non-german) - it would be a Lexus or Genesis. Acura isn't bad either, but I hate the center console.

I'm kind of glad no mid-size trucks were included in any of your lists. I'm 60 and can't get into a sedan anymore without my back bothering me afterwards. Picking up a 2022 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 w/Premium Package in a couple of days. The Premium Package was a MUST HAVE option for me. Took me a month to track down the model I wanted that I didn't have to drive 8 or 10 hours to get to. A ex-leased truck with 19k miles on it. A 3.8 gas engine with a 9 speed trans. No Turbo's or Hybrid crap for me. A simple, old school truck that should last me a good 15 years. Good luck to all the Turbo or Hybrid guys trying to get those vehicles to last as long, without having to replace a Turbo or Hybrid Battery Pack. Have you priced that stuff? LOL And an SUV isn't an option for me. My dog sheds and I don't want cloth seats, so I need leather seats, but you can't get leather seating in the lower trim levels. If I go up in trim levels, those vehicles all seem to come standard with a 4 cyl turbo and/or hybrid engines. Nope, not for me. Hello Nissan! Leather and no turbo motor! And easy to get into and out of.
Nissan Trucks are much better than Nissan cars! Just saying
You're definitely old, Toyota been doing hybrids forever, they would last
@@mister_dave1184 Lol. Old and getting older everyday
60 is the new 50😊 I'm 62 and don't look or feel it.
Picked up the truck today from Columbus, Oh Nissan dealer. I'm from Pittsburgh. Came with a Tonneau soft top cover, I didn't know about. Believe it or not, the truck averaged 27mpg on the highway. It dropped to 25.6mpg after I got into PA. Pretty sure the Tonneau cover is the reason. So the EPA must test it without a cover on. So far, I love the truck. Hoping that doesn't change.
A lot goes into the decision to buy a new car including proximity of the dealership. I live in a senior community and the only dealership close to us is Nissan. The Subaru outback and Forrester are very popular but the nearest dealer is 1.5 hour away.
But, this is something you know BEFORE you bought the car. Why would you buy a car based mainly on the proximity of the dealership, unless you already were planning to make frequent visits for repairs? Why buy an UNRELIABLE car in the first place?
Most dealers deliver now.
Suck it up and rent a car for the day to go check it out after extended online research. No reason to waste money.
I have owned an Acura Integra and Subaru WRX for years and rarely have needed to go to the dealership. And when I do it's to buy parts. Then again I do most of the work myself. For tires and wheels alignments I take them to a tire shop. For work I can't do myself I have two independent shops I use that specialize on high performance cars that I trust and charge a fair price.

Those Honda turbos wont last 180k miles 😂😂😂😂
The problem is turbos require absolute maintenance upkeep. Miss an oil change / coolant change & your talking Big money when things break. If you own a turbo be on top of your maintenance ! They run hotter & are more complex then naturally aspirated engines.
My suv had a turbo engine and in 2 years the engine started lagging and jerking . Dealer told me the turbo engines have been faulty especially with the start/stop auto shut off 😫.
I just got rid of it.
@@ag4allgoodI totally agree. Good maintenance is key. Another important practice to do when driving turbo cars is to wait until the oil warms up to operating temperature before doing hard accelerations so that the turbo gets properly lubricated. And if the it was recently driven hard it needs to be left to idle for a few minutes so it can be cooled down before shutting the engine off so that hot oil won't cook the turbos bearings. If the driver is always rushing and running late they can install a turbo timer that will idle the engine for a set time and turn the engine off automatically.

The Korean automakers (Kia and Hyundai) are not built as well as the Japanese (Toyota & Honda)
Idk the telluride is pretty amazing built wise and quality.
@@Amir-ie2yz JD power calls this effect "perceived quality" Time and use however tells a much different story
Maybe not as good as the Japanese, but better than this rental I have right now. Hit a deer Christmas Eve and it's in the shop so I have a 2022 Chevy Malibu rental. The front seats are hard and uncomfortable, the interior just has a cheap look and feel, the front bumper cover on the front is popping out where it meets the fender on both sides, the rear bumper cover is doing the same but only on one side, and has way too much road noise coming from the back of the car. I own a 2018 Kia Sorento, It's quieter, more comfortable, better interior fit and feel, and the infotainment screen is better and more responsive, (yet it;s four years older) and even the stereo sounds better. The only thing I have an issue with is the clear coat on the rear "spoiler" where the high mount stop light is housed is peeling off on the left and right edges. (i see this on a lot of cars here in Georgia, not just Kia's) While they are not quite to Honda,Toyota levels, they are closer to yhat side and farther away from any of the "American" brands out there.
Kia's and Hyundai's are pure crap ...
That's a myth not supported by the actual results. JD power just released their 3 year dependability study. They track all repairs done to every brand. They took all brands over the last 3 years (21-23) and compiled the data. Honda is 17th and Kia is 8th! Lexus and Toyota were #1 & #2 though.
Hyundai/kia/Genesis are not even close to the same company that *use to* make cheap unreliable vehicles of the 80s and 90s . They've been at the top or near it nearly every study for over a decade. Consumer Reports, Edmunds, JD etc etc can't all be wrong.
Hard data VS anecdotal comments. Even the information here shared by the creator is ancedotal at best.
But that means almost half of the owners would buy the car again, and this is just a survey, probably from CR, so that is only their subscribers who bothered to answers the survey. They said that about my car, but in the April issue 2024, they again recommended my car as one to purchase. When pressed to explain their owner dissatisfaction survey in a previous issue, they said owners did not like the lack of fast acceleration in my car. That is not a deal breaker for me.

All this is a matter of opinion and I wonder why they would not buy again. So let me give you mine. January 2020 bought new Ford Explorer Limited and two year olds could have put it together better. November 2020 traded it for a new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado RST with 5.3 engine. Don’t drive personal vehicle much because of a work vehicle. In three years and 19,000 miles had three major engine issues including one of last issues at 19,000 miles had cracked head. Asked dealer why and he said quote ‘cheap parts’. So recently traded it for a new 2023 Nissan Maxima SR because we bought our 17 year old daughter a 2022 Sentra SV that was a great vehicle and if she had not gotten rear ended would still have it but now had a 2023 Nissan Altima SR that is well put together. My opinion these have been better the the American cars lately and I support buying American products but not when they cost so much and are cheaply made.
You obviously don't read Consumer Reports. Otherwise, you would have known both the Explorer and Silverado were BAD choices, both have WORSE than average reliability according to CR!
@@TheOzthewiz Glad you pointed out my bad choices. Very nice of you. I don't know how old you are but I would guess that I am old enough to be dealing in cars way before you were born. I do not read Consumer Reports but I did research and knew that I was taking a chance with the Chevrolet and have a friend that has one like mine and his has given no problems at all. The Explorer I already owned a 2017 that I traded and it was a great vehicle. Maybe you should do your research before you point out our's mistakes and find another line of work. If I make a mistake it is my money and not yours or your business because you have no idea who I am.
@@chargerman165I know that my grandpa always bought Chevy because that was how it was. The last and only foreign car he bought before he died was an Avalon. He was mad at my dad and I for "not telling" him about Toyota. We did. Anyways, I think you older folks really want to stick with American brands as a pride issue. Which is understandable. At the end of the day, the big 3 are bad at making vehicles. The only American car I'd even consider is the f150.
@@mister_dave1184 Absolutely right. I am 72 and worked for Chrysler Credit Corp when I was 21 for 8 years plus when younger worked at various dealerships. You are correct the Big 3 as they call them have gotten to where they are only concerned about the money and not their customers. Like the service guy said to me about the Silverado when last issue I had was a crack in the head at 19,000 that it was a result of 'cheap parts' well the truck price sure wasn't cheap. My much younger wife drives a 2022 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige and was bought new in 2021 and it has been a great vehicle. I have inspected it, my Maxima and our daughter's 2023 Altima and cannot find a gap anywhere in the construction of either. America could do that if they wished.
Chevy pushrods crack heads often. I had a Z24 that had that happen. I stopped buying American cars in the 90s!
This list is unfair just bc you wouldn’t buy a specific model doesn’t mean you don’t like the make maybe the owners would buy an upgrade.
No it’s not. I think everyone is smart enough to know what the survey is asking.
@@ryanm4013 yes it is. The survey is stating a half truth which is smearing companies with an incomplete fact then assuming everyone is smart enough to know they mean something else.

Nissan used to be a great car until it was made outside Japan.
Fact check: models like the Sentra, maxima, stanza were all made in Japan during the 70's, 80s and early nineties then manufacturing was moved to US and the stanza turned into the altima. Most model manufacturing is in US and Mexico now with the largest plants in Smyrna TN and Canton Mississippi. Nissan headquarters in Brentwood TN.
Parts suppliers are spread thruout the US as well. Their quality is substandard due to outsourcing, moving production around to different plants and suppliers changing up. No consistency.
I was a 3rd party inspector and performed countless containments for their suppliers in dozens of plants in TN and they were and still are sweat shops with low quality work ethics.
Their catalytic converters are notorious for issues and cvt transmissions inferior.

A lot of Kia and Nissan on this list. What a shock….
I’m tired of hearing about Hyundai Kia when u know they are junk
@rahimi4762 what evidence you have to support your claim? Any study you can quote or u just parroting what others say?
Nissan is a brand with no identity and doesn’t have a vehicle that does anything good in any segment. Nissan has pretty much became a car rental brand.

They should really bring back the "cash for clunkers" program for THESE vehicles!🚽
Guess what - all those engine replacement spend that Kia/Hyundai had to shoulder.....they will surely recoup those $$'s back. Where? Watch your next service bills. I don't blame hardworking folks who dare not touch any Kia or Hyundai vehicle.

The Renault/Nissan/Mitsubishi group has some Nissan models as their best sellers in the USA and worldwide. They are now, I think, rebadging some Renault models as Nissans. Not a good idea IMHO when the Renaults are not as good. It draws down Nissan products and quality. This is also going on with Peugeot/Fiat/Chrysler. Some Jeeps are rebadged Fiat Pandas. The Dodge Hornet is a rebadged Alfa Romeo. How can those be good selling products when the original makes and models before rebadging would not sell in the USA? They are not fooling anyone. Surprising! Disappointing! Bad management.

The list of those who wouldn’t purchase again is mostly unsurprising because they’re low end cars, and people aspire to buy something better next time. The exceptions are the Kia Sorento Hybrid, Infiniti, and Nissan Altima. Their low rates are pretty damning.

Hopefully just a simple fix on the 2020 but Nissan CVT’s have been known to be garbage.
I had a 2003 Infiniti G35 6MT that I had for 9.5 years which did very well (reason for buying the Q60 Red Sport) but unfortunately ended up as deli meat between two SUV’s. Evidently the quality had dropped significantly in between those years.
