All depends on your needs. To me the price and features combination is perfect but that’s in part because I have a Z9 for higher resolution stills. I will be getting this as a second camera for my kit. The Z8 was too redundant, too expensive, and too big to qualify.
After conversion and taxes in Canada, the Z8 in almost $2500 more. I can almost buy two Z6III's for the price of a Z8? Yes...I will say, the Z6III is a bit pricier than I would have liked.
something that I discovered on the ZF with my relic of a 70-200 VR(the first one), is that when I want to change the focus point to another person, I just gently jerk the camera to the other person and it will change it to them. Basically twitching the lens towards that person and back to the composition I wanted. Unrelated but, neat find.
Does it matter which AF mode you're in for this? I have to try it. I tend to use 3D Tracking in groups, and it'll hold on the eyes of the person you target while you have focusing engaged.
That lens is a tank. I don't mind heavy lenses. I hope more people offload all their old heavy glass for the modern plastic stuff. I've got some great deals already on a bunch of f mount lenses.
I very much agree and I love the screen on my Z8. However, if the choice were between only horizontal flip out vs. The screen on the Z6iii then I’d pick the latter every time! The Z6 & Z6ii are nightmares when it comes to low down vertical shooting!
I am not sure why I am watching reviews on a camera I have already pre-ordered! In this case it showed exactly how to have a fun and casual couple portrait shoot, thanks for some inspiration.
The unedited photos are in the actual camera review. This is just a few shoots. Straight out camera images are also very subjective. White balance choices, custom picture profiles, lens choices, lighting, etc
@TaylorJacksonphoto really nice video ! Wish I could afford one. Could I ask I currently shoot the Nikon D800 and wonder how you get people in focus using wide apertures ? So I stick to the centre focus point or use the outer ones ?
If I understood Hudson Henry correctly, the Z6III has inherited manual focus subject detect from the Zf, allowing you to lock onto an eye, have the camera follow the subject and then the the green box tells you when the manual lens has hit the mark. I’m not sure this is better than peaking, but something to check out and see if it works for you.

I jumped on Z6II from dslr last year. Although I am not quite satisfied with it, it landed me a few video jobs. I am thinking about getting Z8 or maaaybe Z6III now.

I wish it was a little cheaper. Not much gap between the Z8. You're like 75% of the way there, might as well slap down the extra cash for a Z8.
