Mudfossils are the remains of giant creatures and formed the anomalies we see as "Geology". Read Ovid Metamorphases... "Metamorphosis or transformation is a unifying theme amongst the episodes of the Metamorphoses. Ovid raises its significance explicitly in the opening lines of the poem: In nova fert animus mutatas dicere formas / corpora; ("I intend to speak of forms changed into new entities;").[24] Accompanying this theme is often violence, inflicted upon a victim whose transformation becomes part of the natural landscape"

Don't know how I landed here, but I was so intrigued I couldn't stop watching it and can't wait to view the rest of this channel.
I love to understand why things are the way they are, what happened, how things were in the deep past right under your very feet. Ancient history is amazing, human genetic migration fascinating, but going even further into Deep Geologic History is just like... WOW... you can hardly believe the way things were! Whenever I travel and see the geologic formations of mountains, layers of strata, flat plains with far out-of-place giant bolders, the bad lands, etc. I am always lost in wonder marveling about what it is, how it came to be, what was it like back then,... but alas I pass by with little knowledge or idea what was before me. It is an EXTRAORDINARY REVELATION to have experts like Myron unravel the mystery of our planet's deep history and "read" the formations and layers of strata like the pages of some sacred book to reveal the dynamic amazing events of the deep past... EXTRAORDINARY!!!
THANK-YOU Myron for your videos and fascinating adventures and revelations. Love it!
...and such a wonderful pleasant personality and teacher who loves what he does! I would love to be doing what you do... real, meaningful, virtuous pursuit,... instead I wasted my life studying computer systems.

Great insights! Thank you for the video. It somehow touches topics, which Nick Zentner had talked about recently in a mini series about pre-cascadian volcanism in Idaho and east of that. You have just awesome video footage in your shows!

I'm a new subscriber and I am overjoyed by this discovery. I'm brought back to the concise quality of the television I had when I was young. The passion and inclusive narration that you have, Myron, helps me to remember what a good teacher can do for our curiosity as learners.
I will be using this to learn with my little ones. We love exploring our parks, our environment, and our geography. I couldn't imagine how fun a walk with you might be!
    Have a wonderful journey!

We were in the San Francisco Volcanic Field. On our round about return we ran into Ship Rock. Another ancient volcano with dikes all around.

I’ve ridden my MC through Yellowstone numerous times; along the Yellowstone River to the North and across the Beartooth Mtns to the East the Grand Tetons to the south.
Seeing them first hand, one never tires of learning more about the great Yellowstone hot spot and the massive eruptions that have taken place in the past.
This old dawg loves geology! I look forward to the next video! 👍🏼🫡

I have stood at the same “wall” you were on the north fork. We called it “The China Wall” when I was a lot younger living in Cody. I miss fishing the North Fork of Shoshone. Being a retired geologist… I can spend an eternity walking those mountains. The petrified forest of Cougar Pass is a sight I will never forget. 36 miles in on horseback NW from Dubois, WY. At least by pack trail. Stinking water Mountain in the upper Sunlight can be some treacherous hiking. Those massive volcanic Lahars in the Sunlight region, remind me of gigantic conglomerate rock formations. Heart Mountain is another interesting story. Thank you for bringing back the memories.
