      Плагин Stream Deck для Google sheets?

      You have definitely struck up my interest to get the new hyper deck & the speed grade unit. I also have the stream deck & haven’t been using my ATEM mini pro iso video switcher. I had to get a new laptop to run all this. Plus get another Sony body to match up my color profiles when switching.
      I unfortunately work by myself. So carrying out a laptop, etc to use the ATEM is a bit much.
      Yet with the new hyper deck. It definitely gives a vid& editor more flexibility. Again I would love to see more work flow tutorials from you using all this. Especially using the note feature using the stream deck.

    This semester one of my project is "poor person's SMPTE timecode". Audio SMPTE timecode is simply a non-recurring sequence of binary data. I plan to record an hour or two of timecode on an mp3 player and then use either cables or wireless comms to distribute this to all of my cameras and audio recorder. I will also probably use the other track to distribute a guide audio track as well. As I understand it, Resolve has a feature to convert audio SMPTE into linear SMPTE embedded in the video clip itself. It will be interesting to see if this works.

    Nice work mate! What I do for the timecode notes is cut to bars/black on the atem which show up in the resolve project so you can scrub through and see them instantly, but as you say it’s hard if you make multiple projects.. but handy way to get “markers”

    Wow! Its exactly what I did during my shift from in person to online teaching. I started online teaching pre pandemic with 2 Sonys 6300s which worked good together with an Atem Mini. Then pandemic happened and I had to shift to 100% online. First problem: A full day of teaching ( between 7-9 hours straight) causes that at the end the cams overheated and shut down, which became a nightmare. So I bought one Pocket 4k - problem solved.
    Then they launched The atem mini pro and I thought: Would be a good feature for my content production to record on separate tracks and stuff. I waited and then finally bought an Extreme Pro. What a damn time saver!
    Would you pleeeeeeeeease do a tutorial on how you do the "Good Take" "Bad Take" Timecode thing with the stream deck? That actually would save me - and I guess a lot of other people - a ton of time!
    Thanks for your useful tips!

      Great minds think alike 😉 Really cool to hear how you're using you setup! I had the same issues with Sony's overheating in the past.... it's one of the reasons I love the Blackmagic cams so much! I pretty much run the 24/7 without any issues at all!
      And yep, since uploading this video, it's been the biggest request to do a tutorial on how I implement Streamdeck with Timecode, so I've added that to my video list and hopefully it will be out soon 👍👍

    Danvinci is probably great especially combined with the iso recordings BUT what nobody tells is that Davinci really needs a beast of a computer (cpu, ram and gpu) to work properly. I use a much much more forgiving program called Power Director. So the Davinci file in the iso recordings by the Atem is useless BUT the good thing is that the 'all camera iso mp4 recordings' started all at the same time. When you import them into your video editing software they are already in sync. My biggest time saver is doing the "live switching" while recording and then bring this "live-switched-mix recording" + all iso per camera recordings into my video editor. Then I just change camera where I did not like my live switched choices. This workflow saves already a huge amount of time in post. I have to add that I never record myself so I can focus on the switching while I also zoom,pan,tilt one of the camera's. The same thing can be done with the pro without iso version. You just then have to import all in-camera recordings and sync them with the recorded "live-switched-mix recording". A bit more work but it already saved me much time before I upgraded from "Atem mini pro" to "Atem mini pro iso".

    Super thorough and well explained work flow video. Newbie here so appreciate it but setting up similar set up. Could you record your dialog to the ATEM audio input and then save your ATEM state with your preferred audio processing settings for your dialog so that that step was done when you imported your ATEM project and ISO's? Perhaps the BM Cam XLR inputs produce better audio (better converter?) than the 1/8 mini analog inputs and analog to digital converter on the ATEM. I see the advantage to those moderately priced BM cams w 4k iso's. Nice.

    Question: For a one-person recording studio, I have heard that Blackmagic Cameras have poor autofocus and that Sony's auto eye focus is much easier to work with under those conditions. Alex, what are your thoughts? Thanks for the superb video.

    • @AlexPettitt
      @AlexPettitt  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Jeffrey, good question. So the main difference is that BM cameras do not have ‘continuous’ autofocus, the autofocus has to be triggered each time. If you’re a one man band Sat at a desk and not moving around too much, then that’s fine, as you shouldn’t move out of focus once it’s been set. But if there’s a lot of movement and you don’t have an operator to manually focus the camera, thats where continuous autofocus can really come in handy :)

    • @computerjantje
      @computerjantje 2 роки тому +2

      @@AlexPettitt wauw thank you for this comment. I suddenly can scratch BM camera's from my wish list. Auto focus is something I really depend on with my 4 camera, one operator manning the close-up cam and live-switching productions. I record plays, sports and live music performances. I really cannot use camera's without good auto focussing all the time.

    I have only the basic ATEM mini, plus one Sony and one Panasonic camera, but would tend to be recording someone else's playing live medieval music. So, I could consider using the ATEM to select cameras as I go perhaps. Do you have any tips for speeding up the inevitable colour matching in Resolve with that kind of mixture please? Many thanks for the inspiration. Raymond, Nottingham UK.

    • @AlexPettitt
      @AlexPettitt  2 роки тому

      Thanks so much Earl, I really appreciate you saying that! Haha definitely never been compaired to Theroux before but I'll take it ;)
      As for matching cameras, my best advice would either be to try and shoot them both as flat as possible so you have more to work with in the edit in DaVinci. Or if you're looking to cut them live on the ATEM, you may be able to go into the cameras menus, and see if you can tweak their colour profiles a bit to get them as close as possible. Then you only need to do small tweaks in DaVinci after :) Hope this helps

    • @Roxko4
      @Roxko4 2 роки тому

      Resolve has built in matching using specific X-rite cards. Shoot the card with each camera and then have Resolve color correct based on that footage.

    • @earlgreybeard
      @earlgreybeard 2 роки тому

      @@Roxko4 Thanks for that. It is a good system, and I do that already in Resolve. But I have a situation where we are filming inside a castle for Zoom broadcast the following evening several days in a row. WiFi not good enough for streaming. I can use the excellent Resolve matching for the posh UA-cam version after the festival, but I need to mix/edit on the fly using the ATEM for the immediate broadcast version. So, having an upstream colour match, however crude would be a real advantage. Last year I ended up sleeping only 3 hours on the castle floor trying to edit for the following day 😂

      Its a tough choice, both great cameras, and really the answer is that it depends what you plan on using it for. It only a studio camera, then go with the Studio 4K... if you think you might also want a camera that can also go out and shoot out and about, then you need something a bit more portable and the pocket is great for both situations :) Either way, both are fantastic for live

    Is it possible to use my Atem Mini ISO as a user control surface in Resolve? I do 4 camera shoots of live music and then edit in resolve as a post production step. I would like to be able to put my project up on a timeline with all the cameras and then use the Atem to switch between the cameras.
    Otherwise I have to slice and dice the footage and then on a segment by segment basis delete the unwanted camera angles so I am left with the camera I want for that segment. Is there some better way to do this?
    Great video. Particularly with a separate fresh resolve project for each new video. I actually have a template directory with my standard sub-directories and a template resolve project file pre-configured with my preferences including copyright/location metadata for the export. I then clone this directory into a new directory and upload my footage. As my defaults change over time, I update my template and then these changes show up in my future projects.

      Hey Hampton, yes as far as I understand it, both use the gen 5 colour science. The studio camera and pocket 6k do have difference sensors, but they shouldn’t be very difference. It will definitely be possible to match them in both the ATEM or DaVinci :)

    Thank you for your excellent ATEM and Davinci videos. I record 1080 videos of musical groups in my audio recording studio with four 1080 cameras and an ATEM Mini ISO attached to a 1T SSD. The multitrack audio files are captured simultaneously onto a Windows DAW computer system to an external SATA drive. My 1T video drive fills up quick so I have to copy the video projects to a bigger hard drive for editing and storage. Is there a way to connect my ATEM Mini iso AND my music computer to a NAS system so I don't have to keep copying files - isn't that the purpose of a network assisted storage drive? Thank again P.S. Did you know that many drives that are over 8T(?) have helium surrounding the spinning discs and that such sealed enclosures can leak leading to disc failure?

      I found an answer to my first question- according to someone on the Black Magic user group: "No ATEM Mini model can currently save to NAS." If that is the case, I don't understand: ATEM Mini iso cameras consume huge amounts of drive space and transferring the files to another drive for editing wastes time and energy. Is there a way to connect both my Computer DAW and ATEM Mini iso to a NAS hard drive system? (so I don't have to copy video files to a larger drive for editing, backup and synchronization with my music files)

      It’s a 16” MacBook Pro, fully spec’d. Very tempted to upgrade to the M1 version… but this one is already a complete beast :)

    How do I use the ATEM control software when the only USB connection is recording the iso files to disk, you seem to be doing both ?

      You need to connect and control your ATEM over the network (Ethernet). There is a video on my channel about how to do this if you need instructions :)

    it makes no sense (except for larger files) to record, edit and upload your videos in 50fps ;- )
