If youre playing this game today its not going to work as it used to. Now you have to get away from the spawn area a little bit and facing away before you blow the whistle otherwise mob is not going to spawn.

2023: Testing this and I feel that it's better than behind Hammerhead. Do still equip the Fanfare Accessories and the Shield of The Just. The main thing is that it keeps the enemies grouped tightly together, so warp strike eliminates them quickly.
I can't get the whistle to summon enemies like this video shows. The fastest I could get the whistle to summon is right when the 3AP pops up at the top of the screen. Also, if only 1 enemy spawns, and one of your companions defeats the enemy, you still get 3AP. I actually prefer one of the companions to defeat the one enemy immediately, because it's 3AP in one second, blow the whistle again, and enemies spawn again almost instantaneous. If the companions don't defeat them immediately, then I take them out. DO YOUR JOB GLADIO!!
Also, for an extra AP bonus, keep your Armiger full, and right when the battle is over, execute if for another AP point. After a couple more fights, Armiger will be full again, and repeat.
Also, if you can't get any enemies to spawn with your whistle, you might have to take out the enemies outside this area to the west. It kept them from spawning for me.

Driving around is a slow way.
But fighting with the Beast Whistle is the fastest way.
I also picked everything that gives you AP, but if you like fishing will get you points for getting a big fish.
On a really Big fish I got 6 points. Small fish 2 points.
Camping can get 3 points.
Casting spells get 1 point.
Farm the final boss he gives 333
thanks for this, nearly maxed out my assention grid, only another 4000 AP to go, a few tips for anyone doing this.
don't bring the chocobo with you to the area, especially if he is max level like mine is, he will stop gameplay and give you aliments to help you in battle or will attack one of the creatures loosing AP.
you can only farm till late at night, as soon as it gets to late night and you blow the whistle a red giant will spawn with a few fire bombs just escape the battle and return to camp when this happens.
one annoying thing which is unavoidable is when you blow the whistle and the little guys will spawn away from your location you won't be able to kill them all at once and it will force you into battle mode, do not blow the whistle again after you killed them all because once you do that and the next little guys spawn you will be locked into another end battle animation and will unable to do anything, when this happens the next set of little guys will again escape away from your location and battle mode will happen again, if this happens kill them and wait for battle mode to finish and the xp process to disappear before you blow the whistle again or you will be in a neverending locked animation and won't gain AP as fast and you need to.
once it turns night and the red giant appears and you escape to camp and sleep for the night, it will turn morning, when you return to the location to do the AP farming loads of little guys will be there, once you kill them and then blow the whistle to spawn more nothing will happen, you will need to go back to your car and enter the shop and return to the location before they will spawn again, use this time to sell all the claws, you will get 8,000 gill each time you do this and you have to do this each time to make them spawn anyway so just use the time that you return to the car to sell the claws.
if you don't want to waste ingredients when you sleep at camp choose the luncheon meat because they are easily replaceable and cheap to buy, use the 8,000 gill to buy more.
you can also use the gill to buy more time for the rented chocobo, i usually purchase 2 days each time i return to my car.
if you have the warp regen mp glitch activated just be careful that you don't accidently warp to any of the points in the spawn area, quite a few times i would use the shield to kill the little guys and noctis would travel to the warp point instead loosing the regen glitch in the process which means going back all the way to the other side of the map to reactivate it again so just be weary of that happening.
apart from that happy farming! and i hope this helps anyone who is watching this vid.

If anyone is still checking this video out, you don't have to go to this particular location to spawn these guys. Personally, I got lazy and just went behind the Hammerhead, lol. However, I do seem to get the monsters better if I do it in an area that already had monsters. Find an area that already had sabertusks and kill those with the shield and then begin your farming. If you have the Holiday+ Pack, you can put on the fanfare items for getting more AP for an A+ in time and offense in battle, which should be no problem to achieve with this method if you're strong enough to one-shot these creatures.
It does mean actually activating the battle mode to get the additional AP but it balances itself out. Yes, you have to wait for the score card to finish but for those few extra seconds, you just got an additional 3 AP. It's of course up to preference but I personally like knowing I've walked away from a battle having earned anywhere between 5 to 7 AP each fight.
And...I'm not sure if it is a glitch or something I've activated in the Ascension but if I do warp to a rock in battle, I heal and max out my MP, as though I've popped an elixer. Kow mentions having a video about that here in the video description so I'm about to click that to gain more info :)
And...I see that video is for something different (and a regen method that's been patched) . Alrightie, well, just warp to a rock in the middle of a fight and you should regain at least your MP so that you don't have to also pause to use an ether during the farming.
with the holiday pack+ you can get 3 more AP per report card.
if your party equips the warrior fanfare, and blitzer fanfare, you will get a total of 3 AP per whistle at the report card if you score A+ on time and offense, regardless if you or your PT does the killing. I was able to earn 1500 AP in 50 minutes.
it only applies if you wait to go into battle mode, otherwise you don't get the report card. If you kill the group quick enough, the game doesn't go into battle mode. Feels like it might be just a tad slower because of the wait and the little animation they characters do when the battle ends. But I do equip them anyway for when I mess up the timing.
Chharith Oeun This is what I do and I prefer it. I see I get about 1 AP per kill and then at the end of the battle, I get an additional 3 AP. Total per fight, I'm hitting between five and seven AP. I'm trying to max out as much of the ascension grid as I have the patience to do before I tackle the hidden dungeons, though I'm definitely strong enough as is for the first few since I'm level 93.
Extra tip for anyone still using this method to farm which I discovered by looking through my inventory. If you have either the Blitzer's Fanfare or Warrior's Fanfare accessories you can equip this on Noctis. When you warp strike a group of enemies and the battle exp tally comes up you will get an additional 1 or 2 AP from the accessories for getting A+ for Time/Offensive. The accessories are part of the Holiday Packs DLC. Just a little extra boost for those still playing.

Nice video. To the point and edited the video very well. Without letting ppl watched your whole fight, walk, etc. Just right to the spot.
Just a heads up. Being able to constantly whistle after fighting has nothing to do with the timing of the whistle. if you kill the mob before they notice you (I.e the red bar fills and signals a battle) the game doesn't recognize you have been in combat so that is why you are immediately able to summon more monsters. if you notice when you weren't able to immediately summon more monsters was when the bar filled up and you were graded on your battle afterwards

The ones that break damage limits are gonna be the first ones I start going for. And the magic potency boost looks nice too! Are you going to fill the wait board too?!
+LemonEatingKow Already finished all 99's. Even wait board, exploration (useless ones) , and armiger. Finished the 3rd accessories for my party, just completing the "expert first aid" for my party. I just like spending AP when i reach a certain amount not saving it starting from small then from the top. :))

just a heads up, if you are level 99 don't waste AP points on the gain experience nodes because you won't gain anything doing that obviously.

That can actually work if you are way under levelled here. But the shield is the way to go for speed.
I found I had to blow the whistle, open the main menu, exit out then the group is suddenly around. Before opening the menu I could stand there all day blow the whistle and nothing

Problems with this method as of 2023:
• Only 2 enemies respawn when the whistle is used
• There is often a considerable delay before they respawn (10 seconds at least)
it is still faster than camping
I get 3 AP for each camping.
Go west of the parking spot in this area past thr hut in a small clearing
Use the 2 fanfare ap items for speed and damage
Have the acsension that gives ap for warp-strike kills
Use ragnarok
warp strike everything
Use the warp-point as soon as combat starts
Start in the morning stop as soon as the torches turn on
Only flans and giants spawn at night
Why don’t mine spawn immediately. It seems like they only spawn where you aren’t looking.
I think they hard patched this. When I try it, either nothing spawns ever, or only one enemy will spawn, and that's only when you turn the camera away from the spawn location.
EDIT: Okay I was right, but I found a way around it. Instead of turning your camera away, keep your lock-on held, and hit the menu button (not your item menu, the menu that changes the screen), and back out of it. Enemies will be there then for you to instantly warp strike. This will even spawn multiple enemies. The problem with the 'only spawning one' I mentioned earlier was the camera. The instant it moves away from the spawn area, it will spawn only one. Kill it, and another will spawn if the camera moves away from that area. Bringing up the menu is like turning off your camera, and closing it is like turning your camera back on, instantly spawning all the enemies Beast Whistle spawns, instead of the one instant the camera was off of one enemy spawn point. This is confusing to read, but you'll understand what I mean when you do it.

Another good tip for this is to rest at the RV in Hammerhead and then leave your car where LEK suggests.
That way, you can just teleport back to the last place you rested, sell the mats and rest and then teleport back to your car to resume the loop.

Hey thanks for the compliment! As far as team skills go.... I admit I have been pretty lazy with these. I really like Ignis' 'Libra Elementa' (maybe that is max level name? it infuses your weapon with element) I use Promoptos 'Gravisphere'. Gladious has the two tech bar sword attack at the moment which always seems to hit for 9999 which is nice. I will have a play around with them and see if i can get enough material for a video :D
23 February 2022: Using this method, I usually get 1,100 AP per hour. To complete all the Ascension nodes you need about 18,000 AP, which means you need to farm this shit for 16 hours 22 minutes.
At the moment I cant one shot them with the shield, and I am at level 31, actually just re watched your video. Will try to boost my attack with items.
#1 may be a little too low level. But if you get some powerful accessories it may work. The Darkmatter Braclet and Magitek suits as well as Royal arms to boost attack. Good luck.
as a bonus i can add that after every warp strike that clears the pack i open amirgan which instantly turns of because the combat ends and get the bonus 1 ap from that. If not every spawn u can do it every second depending on your timing. Really efficient to make up for the misstimed whistling

I'm in chapter two as well and did this for a bit when I noticed the dogs respawn pretty quickly. Nowhere near as efficient as what your doing but got me some decent ap.

I think is worth doing this but for activating the limit break nodes but the rest of then that are worth 999 it is just too mucho time to grind
I think I will be aiming for those first. The Magic spheres do look quite good also though. +100 potency is quite a lot for elemancy.
you guys should try out the controller option C for this. it's makes this easier for me to grind.

LemonEatingKow I think the X always stay the same. I just like to hold the L1 button and spam triangle to warp and square to summon monsters
I couldn't do this with R1.. it causes to much stress on my fingers lol
It's a shame you can't change the X button layout. I am pretty used to having my finger on the R shoulders so for me it is natural. It's good they included different controller schemes though.

its even more effective if you have 2 of the extra ap dlc items equipped but you have to wait a second for the game to actually put you in the battle
If they don't spread it is good but they tend to if you leave it too long.

Steve Ozone I use them there nice they don't double ap but they do add 3 ap if you kill them fast enough you get a plus in offense and time
drgknightmstr The holiday pack items were pretty good but without them this is still a solid spot.
With the NG+ I was able to take out low level Magitek with a warp strike from the shield as soon as they all landed from the ships. Easy 6-7 AP but you gotta be quick because if Prompto has his First Shot ability, it'll mess it up.
Pretentious Hipster And those magitek ships rain down! I'll try this mainly because I dislike them so much, it would be good to bash them around!
LemonEatingKow give it a go! Once I started NG+ I decided to try it since most enemies are not leveled with your level. And since the ships drop low level Magitek soldiers by the handful, it's like Prompto says

Thanks for this! When I tried earlier, I noticed that the enemies spawn at different intervals, sometimes pausing for a few seconds... also, sometimes I need to actually move in order to make them spawn... I'm on xbox

Use the whistle and once hes done using it, pull up your main menu for 1 second then exit out, itll spawn all of them

It's the best kind because you get big rewards but you also have to put in some work for it.
This doesn't work for me! The mobs spawn to far from me wherever I stand... I even found the spot you are on right now and it doesn't work either...
All i can suggest is standing even further back and trying it again. Or possibly reloading the game. I never ran into this problem. The only time it was an issue was when I mis-timed my whistle and was stuck doing the victory pose, while the dogs spread out. Could it be your timing is slightly off?
dude dude dude!! Please don't tell me they removed this in the current update I can't summon in this area anymore found one in the duscae region but they spawn very far apart but it doesn't go below 4 it's always 4-6 but you can't use the royal shield cause they are at least 3 cars apart

I noticed I had to turn the camera away from the spawn and then swing it back and they'd spawn. Very dumb.
I was out so I couldn't test but they are indeed spawning for me. I usually go back to the car if it ever happens.
No idea how people are hitting so much ap per hour. Best I've done is around 800. I one shot them from any distance, don't trigger the battle animation unless they spawn far apart from each other that the splash doesn't go to the others, move my movement stick right after blowing my whistle so there's less delay between locking on them and standing around, have the infinite hp/mp glitch going, and I blow the whistle as soon as I can. Can't seem to understand how people are hitting 1200-1300's.
800 was the lower end of what I was getting per hour. The only thing I can think of is that you were getting a lot of 2 dog spawns?
been using this technique, still not able to master it the way it's done in this video though. Also, the monsters would only spawn in closed-in groups half of the time. Don't have the unlimited M/HP regen either. Still, I've been able to get enough AP to get some of the Ascension skills that cost 99AP
In this video it is clear the guy has already unlocked the Point-Blank Warpstrike skill. That's pretty essential to speed the entire process up. Stand where they usually spawn, use the shield of the Just and warp strike the first one that you can target, if you are quick enough you can summon enemies the instant your feet touch the ground again and before the game has even recognised you were in a battle. You'll get the AP and exp but no battle music and having to wait for Noctis to fistpump or brush his hands before you use the whistle again.
Also, park you car at the parking spot by Chesholm Channels and camp at the campground near the AP farm. When it gets dark, return to car and warp strike your way through 30 or so low level Imperials, then return to last point you rested. Sleep, rinse, repeat.
Tim Parkes This is pretty good complimentary tips! The ascension skills that boost warp strike are the things that will make this smooth. The biggest problem you can have once you can one hit dogs, is the miss timing of the Whistle. Blow it too early or killing a single dog to end battle will get you stuck in the victory animation.

WeirdoDud3z It is also a matter of what weapons you have in your other slots. Some of the royal arms increase you attack for just having them on your quick select. Also the ascension grid skills that boost warp strike damage will help.
I imagine you can do this as early as chapter three with the magitech soldiers.

LemonEatingKow haha True! And your trick worked incredibly well, saved me a lot of time! Definitely makes a huge difference investing the 99 AP into the close range critical option! Combined with timing and you can finish th3 battle before the music even starts! I bail at night when the giant appears, but gives me a chance to sell all the claws, rest, save and repeat! Did nobody get the lvl 99 mech that takes basically no damage. I’m a lvl 95 and could only manage like 5 damage

Saul N I was doing it just yesterday. I highly doubt it has been patched. The whistle bug for me once but I just returned to the car, used the shop, then returned to the valley. Hope you get it working!

Kenneth Acuña Quiel Right near the start. You have to have the latest patch, which is the Crown update. It was only added on that patch.
Prolly doe this once, and enjoy the rest of the game doing side quest & dungeons to earn AP.
I got about 2000 AP here then moved on. It will get you most of the skills you need.
So is there still a good way to farm AP in the game or not? I've had the game since launch but only recently got around to playing it lol, and while I'm happy for most of the improvements made from the numerous patches, I was pretty bummed to find out they patched this out... you can't keep using the beast whistle anymore, they simply will stop spawning. Pretty shitty of SE quite honestly. Wouldn't be so bad if you could get say, a big chunk of AP from repeating hunts but nope... just a very dumb balancing patch to pad the game :/
Sucks that it doesn't work for me, no matter how many times I reload my game or go to the Regalia, the whistle just doesn't summon enemies there but it works in other places
Make sure you kill all monsters outside that enclosure, specifically on the north side first.

It seems like the whistle doesn't work anymore in this area.
You have to press touchpad after whistle and get out of that menu, they will spawn again right away, like another comment here said.
It work however sometimes they don't appear and i must open the menu and close it... i lose so many time
Work on your timing and getting all killed in one hit and it should improve. Good luck!

Yep! Been at it since last night and so far I unlocked the 3 Tech Break DMG Limits. I plan on getting the rest of AP to finish Ascension on the long run. 9,500 ish AP left. Good thing we have that MP3 to listen to classics while grinding, lol! Happy new year!

this method does NOT work anymore. the wistle does NOT spawn enemies
It does work. You must be bugged. Trying saving and reloading or leaving the area and coming back.
I've tried it several times. restarting the game. walking around the area, using the whistle. It works ocassioanally but most of the time just 2 enemies will spawn that will reduce the overal AP farm by a lot.

This method doesn't work anymore in this area. Blown my whistle 5-6 times. Went to main menu in the middle of the whistle and after whistling...nothing. Pretty sure this has been patched. Oh well...going back to farming behind hammerhead.

@@akira_sama3781 Found a WAY better method of earning AP. In the same area (three valleys) you need to activate the timed quest in this area for Sabertusk and Flexitusk. But before doing that, make sure you have your car nearby to sell off the sabertusk claws, 99 nets me 8,910 gil each time (allows me to keep buying hi-elixirs without loosing any money). Anyway, once you are in the area, press the PS button and go to you settings. Change the time to the 4th of the Month (doesn't matter which month). Go back to the game and check the timed quest (it should show Three Valleys). fight the horde with the shield of the just. I generally get 35 to 40 AP per fight!
Once you've cleared the time quest, press the PS button again, and change the time to a different day (I usually drop to 3rd or 5th). Once you do that, go back to the game and check the time quest area (should be in a different location). Press the PS button again and change the time back to the 4th. Go back to the game again and check the timed quest to see the event back at three Valleys. Fight the horde, rinse and repeat.
I know you can just reactivate the fight after each battle without having to change the dates, but resetting the date after every battle allows you to earn 50 QP each time in addition to the AP (generally you only get 50 QP for your first battle of the day). I now have 4700 AP, Afrosword, Wind-up Lord Vexxos (sold it for 500,000 gil), still have 3,550 QP remaining :)

Where is the area where you are grinding located?
An area just near the Three Valleys. It is east of hammerhead. I show the point on a map in the video.

As far as I am concerned this is the fastest. Best thing is that no imperials will drop on you here.

It has only happened to me once. I just went back to the car and used the shop. When I came back so did the enemies.
damn if you add the holiday DLC you can probably get about 2000 an hour
Apparently that is about how much you get. The difference is that you need to wait for combat to end so that you can get the report card AP.

i think most people aren't doing the grind for performance difference in battles, but rather trophy/Achievement points.... Just saying :P
Yeah I was just wonder. Some seems really good (Damage limit break and warpstrike things.) But others just seem.... a little bit pointless.
+icynok there's no trophies/achievements for finishing the grid.
I haven't unlocked any of the 333/999 abilities and I have platinum.
i figured that out like a few days after i posted that comment and boy was i relieved, for i have the Platinum trophy now too :)

Ok the only place it kind works is just north of hammerhead but it’s heaps temperamental. And sometimes just one or two appear and sometimes it take several blows of the whistle to get anything :/
If you pull up your menu after you summon enemies, itll work that way, just tried it. Extra mechanics which is annoying but the trick works perfectly. Just get use to clicking on your main menu before exiting to summon all of them each time.
Like the vid get about 400 ap an hour kill them in 1 hit head camp when it gets dark

What version of the game are you running? Patch 1.03? The whistle will only appear in the car from patch 1.02 and up.

Did this get patched? I tried it the other other day and the monsters wouldn't spawn
Not patched but since patch 1.03 the spawn seems to be bugged. You can leave the area (go to the car shop maybe) or reload your game and they should spawn in. 1.03 made a lot of things bug out.

That is the Shield of the Just doing that. And I learnt Ascension skills that increase my warp attack power.

Just have to time your whistle right. I usually hit the button as soon as my feet touch the ground after the shield charge.

Daniel Rasnick it doesn't use the timing of the whistle. you will have he XP tally pop up if the enemies noticed you before you killed them. the trick is to summon the monsters and immediately kill them before the red bar at the top of the screen fills up. then you can keep whistling.
i've actually been able to use the whistle as the report card pops up and get my extra 3ap from my 2 equip items i got in the holiday pack.

It shouldn't be. Sometimes the enemies can have weird spawning patterns though and stop spawning or won't show up til you leave the area. I usually run back to the car and sell my stuff if this happens.
nvm it hasn't. just went through a weird glitch when I got there. couldn't get them to spawn. left, came back, all good.

Yeah you can go to Pitioss Dungeon to remove her, you can race chocobos or you can complete the game again and she will be gone from the new save file :D

Sure does mate. Though sometimes the enemies can spawn a little weird. IF you are having problems, leave the area and come back or try saving and reloading. Don't forget the +AP fanfare accessories from the Holiday packs.
