Took me a few attempts to actually get this right because although it is mentioned in the notes, it is not mentioned in the video that prompto keeps pestering to take a photo (which stops this from working). One other thing worth mentioning - if you have anything equipped on the Regalia that speeds it up - you will reach a point where you crash into a railing. After a few of these crashes, your car will need servicing and will no longer auto drive, 2000 Gil repair bill also. Other than that, it works great, thanks for the vid!
if you're lv 30 or so you can go around hammerhead and kill the weak enemies with warp strike that's one AP each. it works with every enemy so even during the storyline you can almost kill the enemy and then give em the last blow with the warp and one more AP
@@luismartapia1955 Jist get the Regalia Type-F, it's a car with unlimited fuel. You can find it in the stronghold near Hammerhead. But unless you're level 45+, it'll be difficult.
The Type-F drives too fast sometimes. You should use regular Regalia (and remove the 60mph and 70mph installs). If you do this, you won't go around corners too fast that damages your car.
I haven't played in a while but what if you stick the piece of paper in loosely? So that it only presses the R2 button lightly? That would mean the type-f driving slower, right?
The Midnight Barber I finished pitios, didn't save, and crashed on the way out. Took 2 1/2 hours for me and I don't even think its really worth it except for completion.
This is great. You could leave this up as like an "active wallpaper" and play your own music to it while you're studying/working. Then come back when it's time to play and have a boatload of AP!
Magitek Booster negates mp costs, it's an equippable item. Magitek Generator is a car part, and stops fuel consumption.If you sold the booster..meh. If you sold the generator, you must LOVE grinding medals in the colosseum. Play JM5 for 10k in altissa if you need gil, the 99 box prize sells for 500k.
This method is for those that like to get AP AUTOMATICALLY. Leave your console on overnight and get thousands of AP later (more than you need). No need to manually grind the 5000+ AP needed to upgrade every Ascension. Please see whole video to the end before commenting about flying car method, etc. For those that want pro tips to do the minigame on the colosseum, I will make a video on it soon (just be subscribed so you don't miss it!). Prompto WILL NOT INTERRUPT if you leave the map view open (you still get AP after you close the map and decide to stop the car). For XBone, read video description about controller settings. Getting 3.6M medals requires A LOT of INPUT also. I just entered chapter 9 and although I did manage to to get the medals required (after hours of battles) I can't help but think that would have been more productive with shield in the first place. Super late on this it’s awesome but if you have the F-type there’s a way to get around the speed (so you don’t crash the car while away from the controller) and that’s to visit hammerhead and uninstall the engine that makes it go 60mph and boom.. Also make sure to take let your chocobo days go to 0 because I left it overnight and woke up to only 166 AP with the screen saying the days have run out and prompting me to press X (On PS4)
What about everytime he bitches about who to take pictures of. If you're not around to press x, the game will pause and eventually turn off if you leave it unattended. This is something you do in the background while you're playing League or something on your pc.
Read the video description. During the first circle, clear all Photo Ops and picture taking requests from Prompto. They will go into your Quest list and Prompto won't mention them again. Or you can keep the map view open (you still accumulate AP that you get when you close the map and stop the car), prompto won't say anything with the map view open.
Gangsta Oreo Actually. At 7:59 or so you can see it pause. That's what he and I were talking about. But according to another comment here, that only happens once per sleep. So all you have to do is let the car run and wait for this to pop up. Accept it, then you can continue farming forever without watching it.
Correction, he only asks once until you rest again, OR load a saved game. I may have gone the last 20 days or so without sleep, and have been asked more than once, whenever I save the game and come back to play later. Still, that won't effect the farming method any.
With the generator, it’ll allow more regalia customisability. Being able to use skins unlike the type-F But yes, the Type-F is tremendously better and easier to get.
The flying car AFK AP earn has been patched, so now you can only earn it by AFK driving on the ground. Or goofing off in the Regalia Type-D (the off-road regalia).
The only use I see for the magitek Generator is to use the monster truck and regular regalia round without gasoline worries that's all which is good I thing
Or you could just summon low-level enemies in the beginning and kill them all with warp strike. Every time you kill with warp strike, you gain an ap. Add warriors fanfare to a character to earn more.
That's pretty neat. To all the people hating, I was skeptical at first. There are faster ways, but this is the only COMPLETELY AUTOMATIC way to gain AP that I'm aware of. Who doesn't want free AP? Thanks @edepot.
Getting 3.6M medals isn't automatic and takes quite some time. Probably much faster to spend the time 1hitting/beast wistling scorpions with the "get AP for Warp kill" Ascension.
This trick won't work without the controller have a cord, even if you have a button held down, after about an hour of no other movements the controller will turn off and pause the game. You'd have to have a wired connection like in the video.
I used a better trick to get almost 600 AP under two hours. You need to use the temporary missions with the 100 cactuar, and have the skill that allows you to use Ignis and get AP when he uses his dexteries. With enought level, weapons and ability to attack in the right moment, Ignis will wipe out at least three cactuar each time he uses high jump and get some free AP, and since there are 100 cactuars to kill, you'll get at least 40 AP as long as you are offensive enought. Ignis also needs confusion protection, but the cactuars drops omnipotions, panacea and phoenix down when killed, so only patience is needed. I could do that mision in under 7 minutes and get those 40 AP each time, so is at least 300 AP each hour. Also, the temporary mission gives you points you can spend on getting some AP. Is expensive tht way, but doable.

It's only a really good method for leaving your game on while your sleeping. It's faster just to Warp-stike kill enemies to gain AP. Also there is no point in getting the generator because as soon as you leave for altissia, you (out of nowhere) get the item for the regalia that turns it into the regalia type-f which already comes with unlimited fuel.
... it cant be faster to warp strike as you dont have to play...For playing 0 hours 0 min and 0 seconds (while sleeping) you gain more AP then playing for 0 hours 0 mins and 1 second... as you waste 0 in game time farming...
Sean Lewis I got 3 mil pretty quickly. Theres a guide on the wiki that sort of tells you what monsters are the best for betting. personally i got the healing horn and put 9999 into the stingers and usually win pretty big.
Did this, and was driving for a good 2 or so hours ( 5 days elapsed) then next thing i know is that Ignis can now drive during the night. That's a plus!
First off thanks for this!!! --> Because I don't have the time to grind out the winnings I tried the type f. I found that the type f does work, however the last turn left, right before the tunnel leading into Lestallum, you will hit the bar. However, the vehicle corrects itself just as quickly as it gets off course and Noctis will continue to drive! Thank you again!!!
This process will take forever.. I found it easy fighting hard mode Garuda you can rack up ap. Her little are bubbles can be killed with 1 warp. Plus you can rack up on Allagan tombstone for the shop. Get them nice wind dmg wep. Plus tons of xp points, just make sure you go in with xp boost food. If you can't kill the air bubble on quick warp then you need to lv up a bit more before taking on this strategy or eat strengthening food. GL peeps when your thumbs turn purple is hard core grinding. 😎

I can see this as a helpful thing when you speedrun all the way to Altisia with a low level. After getting that magitek engine, and getting the roadrunning skill, you could potentially increase all your stats with each level up, using the stat increasing AP skills.
what about the conversation?? sometimes promto will ask to take pic and if u dont choose the answer it will automatically answer the choice.. and they might stop to take pic
Wait until that conversation pops up, answer it, then set this up. Prompto won't ask you again what would you like to see, as until the next time you'll sleep he'll be taking pics of who you asked him to. And you won't be sleeping any time soon xD

But I surely do this once I get all of the AP and the main ones I need are the 999 / 666 ones! But I like the challenge!! Brings back to the days of FF7 in ps1 ! And ffx But I only have 3 power weapons … just on chapter 3 ! Leave 30! And just really doing all the side quest and traveling and fighting night monster and trying to collect all the i teams I find even the treasure maps ! Taking a shit load of a long time but it’s worth the wait ahaha 🤣 But I will be doing this sometime at the end of the chapter before I end the game! Bc once your done with the game you go to those lock doors that need a key! And need to at least have 9999 attack rate from what I’ve seen on other videos! So that’s what I’m preparing myself! Welp, I maxed out all my ascension trees ages ago with the shield method & have 2k AP now extra which is worthless. Unless they add new dlc characters, not sure they will. This would have been useful back then though for overnight grinding for sure. Gonna bookmark just in case there are new characters & I need extra AP.

Its a good idea, takes a lot of work in the arena for that generator, glad I got strong before doing this. Now to just get even stronger and get everything before final fight
That's a pretty good trick, that reminds me the same trick in Final Fantasy 6 to boost the characters to lvl 99 at the beginning of the game, but it is really slow... is there any problem keeping the Ps4 switched on for such a long time? That's my only concern
Giulio Fiumi not to smart to get to level 99 in ff6, before you get espers due to level stat bonuses. I guess its interesting it can be done, but not recommend.
allow me to vent after 2.5 days of doing this fucking coliseum. I hated this with a passion. what an unbelievably boring grind. the almost guaranted draw if there were doing Shields and long nosers left was infuriating. they walk around sniffing ass instead of fighting.
yojimbe1980 the colisseum is kind of a cool idea, but it just takes way too absurdly long to get the rewards. they could have at least NOT capped the max bet at 9,999. it would make it so much better, even if it was just bumped up to like 20,000
Realize I am suuper late but yes I am doing it right now The car turns when it gets to the edge of the map and stays in the air So anyone who has the type f shouldn't bother with the added drama of this method... just go in the sky and you don't have to do a thing Except land, but I have seen everyone say landing is so hard for some reason I fly aaaalllll the time and have only ever crashed once I hit a fooking light pole hanging over the road as I was landing

I've been doing a very similar but more difficult trick since i got my chocobo. Basically, rent a chocobo and get in town and set your controller up to run in circles. you get AP the same way. Avg about 360 AP while sleeping. If the days run out, you still stay on chocobo till you get off, i think i had one rest period where i did not rest for 26 ingame days. I got lucky i guess and never got attacked while doing it. Best place i found is in hammerhead, right behind the sleeper camper where there billboard is. Is it a bit more tricky to set up your controller, but that's what i did when i was still not finished with the game.
You can also download the free holiday pack keep the nixperience band keep it equipped on noctis (as this game is so easy you don't need any stat boosting accessories) and then just wait till you're satisfied and go to quay. I waited till I add over 10m exp which is when the numbers start going off the little box.
I'm trying this, but my Xbox One S controller keeps disconnecting.....not sure why....there shouldn't be any issues as the controller is doing some motion. Anyone tried this on Xbox One yet?
Just try to change the controller settings to never disconnect and then leave it plugged in and charging so the battery doesn't die. If it is a constant press, it doesn't count that as a motion and will still time out. It would have to be a press and then depress to count as a motion to stay connected, sometimes.
really nailed the trick, bro. Although I did the auto drive with mine by using pillows under the controller. The weight of the controller is enough for R2 to be pressed. I don't know if my style works for other but yours surely will.

Too bad it takes longer to prep this than it does to just manually get the AP you need. Can even get the AP a lot earlier, before reaching the colosseum. Days of playing to prep the automation when you could in less than half a day obtain the AP you're trying to automate. I mean it works, and if you're already at the colosseum and didn't grind early this could work really well. I wonder how long the previous gas upgrade lasts, could just come back often.
this is cool. i just used the whistle to farm AP but i could have done this while i would be away from my console at work or school. oh well... i also didn't know i didn't have to unlock the entire nodes. SO YEAH I WASTED LOTS OF TIME FARMING AP. nice video though.
Is it bad that I wish they patched in an AP skill that scales damage, or income or some other stat in accordance with unspent AP? Just so that NG+ players can get an extra sandbox mode out of it to see how high their damage can climb. I think that could have been fun.
rubber band works fine. I did it with the unlimited XP glitch in spiderman ps4, where you did the mid air tricks in a glitched spot and I rubber banded it over night. and that even includes the trigger AND ALSO the O-Button, and I was still able to get it with ONE rubber band, so i know it will work with just the trigger

Easiest way is to get ap is warp strike and also letting those different day quest where you get awarded ap when you get 700 credits, about 7 100 pointers or mix it up with the 50 pointers or just use your beast whistle while on a mission to let everything ad up

That's what he and I were talking about. But according to another comment here, that only happens once per sleep. So all you have to do is let the car run and wait for this to pop up. Accept it, then you can continue farming forever without watching it.

Correction, he only asks once until you rest again, OR load a saved game. I may have gone the last 20 days or so without sleep, and have been asked more than once, whenever I save the game and come back to play later. Still, that won't effect the farming method any.

The flying car AFK AP earn has been patched, so now you can only earn it by AFK driving on the ground. Or goofing off in the Regalia Type-D (the off-road regalia).

The only use I see for the magitek Generator is to use the monster truck and regular regalia round without gasoline worries that's all which is good I thing
Or you could just summon low-level enemies in the beginning and kill them all with warp strike. Every time you kill with warp strike, you gain an ap. Add warriors fanfare to a character to earn more.
I think it's cool how the regalia's powertrain is twin charged 👍
That's pretty neat. To all the people hating, I was skeptical at first. There are faster ways, but this is the only COMPLETELY AUTOMATIC way to gain AP that I'm aware of. Who doesn't want free AP? Thanks @edepot.

Getting 3.6M medals isn't automatic and takes quite some time. Probably much faster to spend the time 1hitting/beast wistling scorpions with the "get AP for Warp kill" Ascension.
This trick won't work without the controller have a cord, even if you have a button held down, after about an hour of no other movements the controller will turn off and pause the game.
You'd have to have a wired connection like in the video.
I used a better trick to get almost 600 AP under two hours.
You need to use the temporary missions with the 100 cactuar, and have the skill that allows you to use Ignis and get AP when he uses his dexteries. With enought level, weapons and ability to attack in the right moment, Ignis will wipe out at least three cactuar each time he uses high jump and get some free AP, and since there are 100 cactuars to kill, you'll get at least 40 AP as long as you are offensive enought. Ignis also needs confusion protection, but the cactuars drops omnipotions, panacea and phoenix down when killed, so only patience is needed.
I could do that mision in under 7 minutes and get those 40 AP each time, so is at least 300 AP each hour. Also, the temporary mission gives you points you can spend on getting some AP. Is expensive tht way, but doable.

It's only a really good method for leaving your game on while your sleeping. It's faster just to Warp-stike kill enemies to gain AP.
Also there is no point in getting the generator because as soon as you leave for altissia, you (out of nowhere) get the item for the regalia that turns it into the regalia type-f which already comes with unlimited fuel.
... it cant be faster to warp strike as you dont have to play...For playing 0 hours 0 min and 0 seconds (while sleeping) you gain more AP then playing for 0 hours 0 mins and 1 second... as you waste 0 in game time farming...
You don't get the item out of nowhere, you have to finish off all 3 military bases, 2 are in the story, the 3rd you have to find yourself.

I got 3 mil pretty quickly. Theres a guide on the wiki that sort of tells you what monsters are the best for betting.

I found that the type f does work, however the last turn left, right before the tunnel leading into Lestallum, you will hit the bar. However, the vehicle corrects itself just as quickly as it gets off course and Noctis will continue to drive! Thank you again!!!
This process will take forever.. I found it easy fighting hard mode Garuda you can rack up ap. Her little are bubbles can be killed with 1 warp. Plus you can rack up on Allagan tombstone for the shop. Get them nice wind dmg wep. Plus tons of xp points, just make sure you go in with xp boost food. If you can't kill the air bubble on quick warp then you need to lv up a bit more before taking on this strategy or eat strengthening food. GL peeps when your thumbs turn purple is hard core grinding. 😎

I can see this as a helpful thing when you speedrun all the way to Altisia with a low level. After getting that magitek engine, and getting the roadrunning skill, you could potentially increase all your stats with each level up, using the stat increasing AP skills.

Welp, I maxed out all my ascension trees ages ago with the shield method & have 2k AP now extra which is worthless. Unless they add new dlc characters, not sure they will. This would have been useful back then though for overnight grinding for sure. Gonna bookmark just in case there are new characters & I need extra AP.

Conversations default to top answer, which can cause the car to stop if you haven't collected all the Landscape shots already.
You might have also forgotten one thing, make sure you answer prompto before leaving on overnight, or it will pause and u wont get AP

I've been doing a very similar but more difficult trick since i got my chocobo. Basically, rent a chocobo and get in town and set your controller up to run in circles. you get AP the same way. Avg about 360 AP while sleeping. If the days run out, you still stay on chocobo till you get off, i think i had one rest period where i did not rest for 26 ingame days. I got lucky i guess and never got attacked while doing it. Best place i found is in hammerhead, right behind the sleeper camper where there billboard is.
Is it a bit more tricky to set up your controller, but that's what i did when i was still not finished with the game.

You can also download the free holiday pack keep the nixperience band keep it equipped on noctis (as this game is so easy you don't need any stat boosting accessories) and then just wait till you're satisfied and go to quay. I waited till I add over 10m exp which is when the numbers start going off the little box.

I'm trying this, but my Xbox One S controller keeps disconnecting.....not sure why....there shouldn't be any issues as the controller is doing some motion. Anyone tried this on Xbox One yet?

Just try to change the controller settings to never disconnect and then leave it plugged in and charging so the battery doesn't die. If it is a constant press, it doesn't count that as a motion and will still time out. It would have to be a press and then depress to count as a motion to stay connected, sometimes.

really nailed the trick, bro. Although I did the auto drive with mine by using pillows under the controller. The weight of the controller is enough for R2 to be pressed. I don't know if my style works for other but yours surely will.

Too bad it takes longer to prep this than it does to just manually get the AP you need. Can even get the AP a lot earlier, before reaching the colosseum.
Days of playing to prep the automation when you could in less than half a day obtain the AP you're trying to automate.
I mean it works, and if you're already at the colosseum and didn't grind early this could work really well.

Is it bad that I wish they patched in an AP skill that scales damage, or income or some other stat in accordance with unspent AP? Just so that NG+ players can get an extra sandbox mode out of it to see how high their damage can climb. I think that could have been fun.

rubber band works fine. I did it with the unlimited XP glitch in spiderman ps4, where you did the mid air tricks in a glitched spot and I rubber banded it over night. and that even includes the trigger AND ALSO the O-Button, and I was still able to get it with ONE rubber band, so i know it will work with just the trigger

Easiest way is to get ap is warp strike and also letting those different day quest where you get awarded ap when you get 700 credits, about 7 100 pointers or mix it up with the 50 pointers or just use your beast whistle while on a mission to let everything ad up
