Classic. One of the best guitar solos- it fits perfecly in the sad piano melody and boosts the energy like a metal solo should. Then it slows down with power cords and a grating false harmonic and fades back to the piano. Beautiful.
Who's still listening in 2021?! This is the best song by Motley Crue...so many great memories at that time. Lost my baby sis to Cancer around the time this song came out. So it brings tears also. Reminds me of her every time I hear this song. If I could just talk to you one more time, see your happy smile and hug you sis. Love and miss you always, see you on the other side. Life is Beautiful! Prayers for all in 2021 and moving forward.
When i was pregnant with my oldest daugther, watching Hot Tub Time Machine this song started playing. She started to kick the hell outta me. Now almost 9 years later, i blare this and we sing it together 💜💜
Thanks for sharing that was a good one I like that story that's cool. Alot or should I say some of the younger younger generations love to listen to this kind of music to because there parent's listened to it and some songs good ones just never get old and fade away, it's just that simple. I can hear a story and think of a song that has something to do with it lol. That's I'm sure how alot of song writers got there music written is because they are telling parts of their lives or someone else's, nothing wrong with that. They are expressing themselves or however you wanna say it lol.
Oh by the way when you see your mom again you should sing that song with her again to being back memories. Reunited and it feels so good lol. Sorry don't know you just saying I think it's cool you sung with your mom cool.
My mom used to play this for me in the office of our old house ever since I was 6 months old I’m 18 now and thank her everyday for showing me real music ❤️
This song has saved me from suicide more than once. As an abused child of an alcoholic family and an Indigenous person and activist for 34 years, this song has saved my life many times.
You know I'm a dreamer But my heart's of gold I had to run away high So I wouldn't come home low Just when things went right It doesn't mean they were always wrong Just take this song and you'll never feel Left all alone Take me to your heart Feel me in your bones Just one more night And I'm comin' off this Long and winding road I'm on my way I'm on my way Home sweet home Tonight tonight I'm on my way I'm on my way Home sweet home You know that I've seen Too many romantic dreams Up in lights, fallin' off The silver screen My heart's like an open book For the whole world to read Sometimes nothing keeps me together At the seams I'm on my way I'm on my way Home sweet home Tonight tonight I'm on my way Just set me free Home sweet home Home sweet home Home sweet home Home sweet home I'm on my way I'm on my way Home sweet home Yeah yeah I'm on my way Just set me free Home sweet home
I cheered and so did all of my friends when MTV finally banned this song. NOBODY wanted to hear it anymore and it was obvious the result was being manipulated somehow. In the 1980’s the phone system was analog. There were choke points, which meant callers from some parts of the country would have difficulty getting through to New York where MTV is located. This was explained to us after a local band appeared on Basement Tapes and lost partly because “the phone lines were jammed” and voters from our town couldn’t get through. The point of this story being - a relatively small but devoted cadre of Crue fans in a major node like Los Angeles could put Home Sweet Home up to #1, while everyone else struggled to get in through jammed lines. When #1 on the countdown came up, and it was f**king Motley Crue AGAIN it was time to change the channel.
This song has deep meaning for me after spending four years overseas fighting for my country I landed at DFW airport this was the first rock song that I heard on the radio and I was in tears by the end of the song
I would happily give up the final 20 years of my life to be able to relive the 80's as a teenager all over again. The good, the bad, all of it just to be able to see the best bands ever playing the best music ever in 50,000 seat stadiums. We had it great. The 80's #BestDecadeEver
Wow! And here I thought I was the only one who felt that deeply about it. Being a teenager in to young adulthood in the 80's was EVERYTHING. Pure classic, unforgettable times. For those who didn't experience that.. all I can say is MAN what a great time to be alive😉
Mr Nice Guy. U wish. Not only, did u not have it better; u have no idea how much u missed out on. We have experienced both, so we know. Life was so much better back then
The 80's were anything went and you had unlimited dreams. I miss the feeling of seeing a rock metal band in the 80's. The night seemed to go on forever.
I was at Disney Word in Florida in 2005 and my daughter and I were coming back inside the food court and i pushed open the garbage container for a man that has is hands full and i saw Sixx on his knuckles and was star struck, it was Nikki Sixx and his family, I froze, he said Thanks man, my Vacation was complete. I didn't get a photo or autograph because it was family time for him and i respect that,
Fucking lucky. I met a guy in vegas who grew up on the strip in the 80s spent two hours slamming liquor playing slots with him and his wife listening to his stories, true or not? who knows he seemed to check out. Rock recognizes rock you know? He said it was a wild time. It's always been a time travel wish for me to not be a baby but be early twenties for the late 80s.
Good times. Its a tragedy how time passes by like a fart in the wind. I saw Motley 32 years ago headlining Day On the Green at the Oakland Coliseum around this time of year. I have also seen them a few other times. Never a disappointment. Hopefully they really do reform and tour again in 2020.
Wow DJ that's alot of times seeing Motley Crue my goodness, you are definitely a committed fan right. Nothing wrong with listening to good music no doubt about that. I would go crazy If I didn't have my music to listen to, it soothes the soul sometimes and makes you feel better.
11/24. A commercial on tv uses this song. I forgot how much I loved it. May use it as my new Thanksgiving song. Only people from the 80’s will understand. I’m 63 now and those memories are etched in my mind.
Yo tengo 15 años y me gusta esta banda y por mucho se volvio mi favorita quizas no viví los 80s pero definitivamente me hubiese gustado haber vivido esas epocas
I can’t really comprehend how much I love this band. I’ve seen them in concert twice, and I’ve cherished those moments I spent with my father. Hell, we got into a car wreck and this song was playing the whole time. A few months back, a friend of mine told me their favorite band was Mötley Crüe, and all the memories came flooding back. I’d do anything, just to see these guys perform. One. More. Time.
I always been a true die hard MetallicA fan but I also fuckin loved the CRUE!!! Dr. Feelgood I had on cd when I was 11 and I listened to it constantly. So many GREAT tracks!!
I used to play this song back in the late 1980s and early 1990s whenever I was about to do a job back in L.A. I was a private contractor who sometimes had to deal with some real tough...projects. This always put me in the mood.
@@carlsmith1263 Yeah, but singing the music into the microphone and making it an original experience is pretty important vs. listening to a Milli Vanilli presentation.....

The beauty of this song is it resonates with all of us in such different ways, and takes us back to a time we loved the most in our lives. To think, a kid drummer, an old man, a cover band singer and a runaway gave us this masterpiece is truly amazing. 🥺❤️

@@bobbilowery2975 i agree with you at least we still aprecuate the 80's music. One day time travel may pr may not happen and all of us late 90's and 00's will be able to see how it rocked
I disagree. It is a lot easier to listen and find these songs than it was back then. Though i would agree the 80's to 90's seemed like funner times than nowadays
@KingNelo_ P4P#1 Yeah, but saying “bring back metal” when heavy, metal, thrash metal, power metal, etc... are already kinda thriving today sounds.. a bit dum
This song will always have a special place in my heart i saw it live in concert with the best drummer ever tommy lee going upside down on a roller coaster with his drums absolutely madness how doesnt that feel flipped like left is right and the certain muscle memory on that side not mess up ,dudes absolutely mad. This was my uncle's favorite song when he passed a week before with his tickrt in hand and it played at that concert it was my first ever true spiritual experience i could feel his hand on my shoulder and my dad as well.
That was a heluva tribute to your beautiful sis. God bless her
The song every band from 85 to 91 wanted to have.
Damn sorry to hear that man continuing prayers to your family and anything off their first three albums is awesome and then Kickstart My Heart
I’m here an 11 year old In 2022 and I live the crüe 🤘❤️

I remember coming home from school and Home Sweet Home being number one on the MTV Countdown for over a year!!
They had to remove it from the countdown because nothing could beat it, fact!
@@jonoverstreet Yes it was called the "Crue Rule".
@@MrJeffcoley1 sorry you and your friends couldn't get George Michael to number one.

Because I was grateful to be home
I would happily give up the final 20 years of my life to be able to relive the 80's as a teenager all over again. The good, the bad, all of it just to be able to see the best bands ever playing the best music ever in 50,000 seat stadiums. We had it great. The 80's #BestDecadeEver
You know who has it better? 00’s kids
Wow! And here I thought I was the only one who felt that deeply about it. Being a teenager in to young adulthood in the 80's was EVERYTHING. Pure classic, unforgettable times. For those who didn't experience that.. all I can say is MAN what a great time to be alive😉
Is there any such thing as playing a concert in an arena anymore? Been a Crüe fan since 1985 and still rockin on.
Mr Nice Guy. U wish. Not only, did u not have it better; u have no idea how much u missed out on. We have experienced both, so we know. Life was so much better back then

It was always “yeah! I’m on my way!!!” With me in the 80’s 😂😂😂
Saw them 37 times as well as the last show on NYE. They ruled my teenage years! Goddamn I miss the 80's !
Miss the 80s so badly. We can still rock on
No decade can top the 80s!! Damn, I miss that era!
