Men in Islam have dress codes too, as far as the type is considered, Im pretty positive a woman can wear any type of cloth or colour or design as long as the body is covered in a proper Islamic way, same goes for men. 3. Women in Islam can totally do business as long as it follows the rules and regulations of Islam, Hazrat Khadija was a very great business women of her time. It is a stated fact that there are millions of more females in this world than males, therefore if women are allowed to have more than 1 husband, it'll be more of a bigger problem since more females in the world will not find life partners. next, during the time of the Prophets and since recently genetic identification was hard to impossible, so, lets suppose, a child is born. it would have been easy to identify the mother in that case ( ofcourse) but if a woman had more than 1 husband, it would be impossible to know whos child it is. now coming to a more modern reason, in documents, generally, your last name is your fathers name, if you were to have more than 1 "father" , who's name would you write on your documents? furthermore, during the time of female periods and pregnancy, the female body and mind goes through a lot of changes, making it very hard for her to play the role of multiple wives, whereas a man can play the role of multiple husbands, lastly, there are higher chances of STD's being transferred when a female has multiple sexual partners than a male having multiple sexual partners. 5. I cant comment much on the travelling alone part, and i believe theres more to it, but it does have to do with the safety of the woman and everything revolving around the fact that they are more vulnerable alone, than being around a man (husband, father, brother doesn't matter, the point is they'll feel safer and will be safer) 6. They can study whatever they want as long as it is justified in Islam, and the means of getting them their education are proper according to Islam, i.e going to schools where there are only female students etc. 7. All those examples are okay. But salat is same for men and women is same. And it is not with respect to the strength or difficult to perform etc. U may say women get Period and become pregnant etc. But what about the normal days when they are not in period or not pregnant? If men and women are equal in Islam, then why can't a woman go out alone and a man can ? Why are many women women forced by their men ( husbands and brothers) to wear the hijaab? Well, it is not something to get upset about. Though I'm not Muslim, I did read the Quran and have visited a mosque many times. What I read and heard does not compute with how Islam is presented in the real world. That's why I presented my remarks this way. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise, besides you. 1. A woman can disagree to marry a man if she doesn't want to, there is no force allowed whatsoever.
2. Men in Islam have dress codes too, as far as the type is considered, Im pretty positive a woman can wear any type of cloth or colour or design as long as the body is covered in a proper Islamic way, same goes for men.
3. Women in Islam can totally do business as long as it follows the rules and regulations of Islam, Hazrat Khadija was a very great business women of her time. Yes in todays world it may be difficult for, lets suppose, a woman to sit at a shop or whatever business she owns (because of various reasons), but those hardships can always be worked around in one way or the other.

Im guessing since you didnt question it that you know why men in Islam can have 4 wives, so ill cut to the chase, the reasons why women cannot have more than 1 husband is, to start off, population. It is a stated fact that there are millions of more females in this world than males, therefore if women are allowed to have more than 1 husband, it'll be more of a bigger problem since more females in the world will not find life partners. next, during the time of the Prophets and since recently genetic identification was hard to impossible, so, lets suppose, a child is born. it would have been easy to identify the mother in that case ( ofcourse) but if a woman had more than 1 husband, it would be impossible to know whos child it is. now coming to a more modern reason, in documents, generally, your last name is your fathers name, if you were to have more than 1 "father" , who's name would you write on your documents? furthermore, during the time of female periods and pregnancy, the female body and mind goes through a lot of changes, making it very hard for her to play the role of multiple wives, whereas a man can play the role of multiple husbands, lastly, there are higher chances of STD's being transferred when a female has multiple sexual partners than a male having multiple sexual partners.
5. I cant comment much on the travelling alone part, and i believe theres more to it, but it does have to do with the safety of the woman and everything revolving around the fact that they are more vulnerable alone, than being around a man (husband, father, brother doesn't matter, the point is they'll feel safer and will be safer)
6. They can study whatever they want as long as it is justified in Islam, and the means of getting them their education are proper according to Islam, i.e going to schools where there are only female students etc.

All those examples are okay. But salat is same for men and women is same. And it is not with respect to the strength or difficult to perform etc. U may say women get Period and become pregnant etc. But what about the normal days when they are not in period or not pregnant? They are able to perform salat.there are plenty of women who know hadeeth and capacity to lead a group. But still they are not allowed. Why is this discrimination?

u say that in some aspects, God gave women some advantages while in some other aspects, God gave men some advantages. But what about those areas where men and women have gotten equal advantages from God? Take intelligence, brain power and decision making capabilities for instance. Female students are equal to the number of male students, if not more, in many schools and universities. Women can competently manage their own lives without depending on anybody.... so why do they not have equal say in inheritance? And why are men allowed to take 4 wives?If this happens vice versa, the woman will be called so many cheap names...Clearly, there is no equality seen here. See, I respect Islam as much I respect my own religion ( or any religion, for that matter). No offense intended to ANYBODY. But doesn't it make sense to accept the good, and leave behind the unacceptable stuff present in all religions, and work towards building a peaceful society? Just my thoughts....

If men and women are equal in Islam, then why can't a woman go out alone and a man can ? Why are many women women forced by their men ( husbands and brothers) to wear the hijaab? Why is a misstep made by a man just a misstep, but when a woman makes ones, she shames the whole family? That last one proves women to be inferior in Islam. Or isn't it Islam, but cultural? If men and women really are equal, the a woman can wear pants if she wants to, she can go dancing, she can go get a drink with her friends, she can get a job and doesn't have to stay home for the children, she shouldn't have to obey her husband, because she's his equal. Comparing religion with sports is crazy. We have a saying here for such a comparisson: " that's comparing apples with pears. I don't know if they have this saying in English. Overhere men and women both are free to do whatever they want, within the boundaries of national law offcourse. But that law is the same for both sexes. That's equality.
CelticaTerra so let me give you answer your questions! In Islam woman mostly cannot go alone bc if something bad happens to them they will not be able to fight with a guy in every way! That's why it is considered to go out with men! Hijab is for both men and women! Lowering gaze is for men and hijab or covering yourself is for women! If a man is forcing women and not lowering his gaze then it's his fault, not Islam! And it depends on mentality of people that they think a guy misstep is a misstep but women makes ones she shames the whole family bc in eyes of Allah( swt) whoever commits a sin will get punishment equally whether it's a girl or a boy

Well, it is not something to get upset about. Though I'm not Muslim, I did read the Quran and have visited a mosque many times. What I read and heard does not compute with how Islam is presented in the real world. That's why I presented my remarks this way. Many things Muslims do is infused with culture which explains the bad treatment of women which is often seen. This abuse of women is NOT Islam, but cultural. I know! So, it shouldn't be defended by prominent figures in Islam.

Why is it so?” The Prophet said: “Because of their ungratefulness.” It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet said,” They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds.”
Sahih Muslim 142: Mohammad the prophet said,” O womenfolk you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell. A wise lady among them said,” Why is it, Messenger of Allah, that our folk are in bulk in Hell? Upon this the Holy Prophet observed, “You curse too much and are ungrateful to your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise, besides you. Upon this the woman remarked, “What is wrong with our common sense and with our religion? He (the Holy Prophet observed, “Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from the fact) that the evidence of two women is equal to one man, that is proof of lack of common sense.”
