I'm guessing the juries were "massaging Destiny's ego" too much 😶 And I love her song, I just feel like when she came to Rotterdam the interviewers were jumping all over her asking "what is it like to be juries favourite?" that it affected her reaction at the final when she got not too many points from the televotes and couldn't fully enjoy the experience of participating this huge event because of how the press put her hopes so high.
I only found her a bit sad during juries vote actually, when she was announced with 47 points she was actually content with it. Malta has never been the televote's favorite so she probably was hoping she can get more points from the juries. She's so talented and I love her but the pressure on her is too much.
I like the song taken on its own, and Destiny's singing was good, but after Netta in 2018 and compared to Birth of a New Age this year, Je Me Casse just doesn't feel real. It just feels like repeated pop with no authenticity, riding on what works instead of being something that's kind of innovative. Of course, that's just my opinion so I'm sure others will feel differently
