No as the fondant will be too soft to write on without the tylose powder . The tylose help the fondant to firm up so its easy to write on. I hope that helps you. Or you can use sugar paste which has add tylose in its fondant so no need to add it in.

If your fondant isn't dry then you'll most likely make dents and marks in it when you try to write your message or draw your design. Some pens that act more like brushes than marker pens are better at coping with wet fondant but it's generally advised to write on dry fondant.
