Good video. Big tip, replace the oil fill neck after removing the top cowling to prevent anything from being dropped into the hole! 😜 Because if something goes down the hole you will wish it didn’t! 👍
Oh ya I completely understand. The tool is pretty self explanatory. Just take your time and how to use it will fall in place for you. You will see the bar has a square tab that fits into the tensioner. Use this to make it spring over and remove the belt when it gets loose. Please fill us in on your project progress when you get a change. Good luck.
Pump stopped working two days later 😔 gonna look at the lines and the gear box I guess.might be rack and pinion.this isn't a forum so I'll leave you be lol
Sadly enough that's correct. It could be a bad rack as well. Don't forget just because the pump is new doesn't mean its not defective. Good luck keep us informed with your progress.
I experience a strange whining noises every time I turn to the right when I'm backing up. Do you think Its a sign that may Impala 2009 power steering pump needs to replace? Thanks in advance.
It could be going out. Keep in mind if you turn all the way to one side to the point it will go no further and apply pressure it can also whine. Thats kind of normal. And most of the time when the pump is going out it will whine constantly or even when you move the wheal just a little. Even the rack and pinion going bad can put a heavy hydraulic load on the pump and make it whine. Investigate well before throwing parts at it. Hope this helps.
Pretty sure it was Rock Auto. But any parts house would do just fine. Find a good price and go for it. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.
@@amanda-jp2nh They are probably referring to bleeding the air out of the system. Most people just turn the steering wheel full stop both sides while running and keeping the fluid full at the same time as the air comes out. Hope this helps. Please fill us in on your success.
Some parts are universal and fit many cars or years. You may need the seal you may not. If needed it will only fit one spot. I would have to see the seal in question to give a better answer.
After adding in fresh fluid tou can turn the wheel back and forth from one side to the other which can bleed out the air and top off fluids. Best of luck. Keep us informed.
Hi. Once the pump is loose the only thing I did was remove the low pressure hose clamp slide off the low pressure hose and then you see me remove the high pressure line with a wrench. Please keep us informed with your progress.

Changed the pump successfully thanks to your video. I just used a regular ratchet on the belt tensioner and an extra hand lol
@@dasen11 Glad to hear it went well for you. I've used ratchets as well when they fit between the frame and pulley

It looks like you didn’t bleed the pump.
