I agree! After spending way too much time researching the different options I went with the WS-2000 a few weeks ago. It was too good of a deal to pass on during the last Amazon Prime Days. Set-up was straight forward, this is my first weather station. It was a bit tricky getting connected to Wunderground, but I did figure it out. So far my temp, rain, wind, and barometer measurements have been spot on with the other stations around me. No issues with debris falling into the rain gauge but I also have it mounted away from trees. The newer display tablet made the extra cost well worth it in my opinion and looks very nice in the house. So, yes - for me, this is the best value right now for the money.
When you do reviews it would be great to have a comment on how well they integrate with Automation eg home assistant. This is a great way to utilise a weather Station eg opening and closing blinds according to temperature or even turning air conditioners on and off by cloud cover if you have solar.
@@theweatherstationexperts that would be fantastic, especially tying in solar if possible. There doesn’t seem to be a simple way to tie solar production into the decision making process of automation.
Eventually yes. But they drop pretty much seasonally right? As long as you’re watching it during that period it should be fine. Also make sure you have some type of screen in there which will help too.
Ambient wx station is more rapidly transmiting data compare to Davis, specially in the temperatures, humidity, solar and uv. I have both stations and Ambient is more efficent in temps.

We're actually planning a whole video on this topic!

I have a lot of pine needles that drop in my yard, will it clog the rain gauge? I assume so?

Are you sure? I am pretty sure Davis transmits some at 2.5 second intervals, versus 5s for Ambient?
