awesome video. Do you have a video going over how a jacket should fit? Most off the rack jackets will i have tried have a bit of shoulder divot while fits well everywhere else.
@@almostvintagestyle Yes! Except instead of moleskin it has the flannel material for the primary lining. I am not sure if a 36 is your size, but I saw one on buyee if you're interested.
As pointed out, going custom requires that you really understand/know what you want. In my experience, Fields Leathers is extremely precise (and extremely good) and will deliver exactly what was mutually agreed on. That said there is a difference in jacket patterns e.g. Route 66 vs Chicago. If you don't know what you are doing, you may wind out with a jacket that is not the best fit for you. FL offers trial fabric jackets. But, it is not the same as wearing a final product, a stiffer leather jacket.
Very well said. You can't just go by measurements. You need to know the differences in patterns that a maker offers. They can't completely change it or else it would be a different jacket
You would not need to use any for at least a decade most likely. If I had to use something, I would try to use something relatively light such as Saphir.
I love Japanese things clothing boots and etc. but when it comes to leather aero and vanson Scotch but I’ll look into the company you said and I’ll see if I can buy one but I’m boots you’re absolutely 100% on point no how about hats pants shirts do you know the whole package we should have a conversation about that I would like to see it thank you and have a good day
I think Himel's patterns are unbelievably good. I think they're better than RMC having owned multiple of both brands. Plus, he does bespoke measurements so that's a huge bonus. Leather quality is equal. Construction quality is slightly below, but the bonus of being bespoke outweighs that IMO.
Not a fan. The quality is fine, but they don't have the pattern or material quality of other brands such as Freewheelers, Rainbow Country, Thedi, Himel, etc.
@@almostvintagestyle thanks for the reply, I was curious as The Flat Head seems to be priced higher than The Real McCoys, Fine Creek Leathers, Double Helix and Y2Leathers although I don’t know how good the last 3 are. How would you compare Field Leathers, Dave Sheeley, Freewheelers, Thedi Leathers and Rainbow Country to say a Saint Laurent biker Jacket by Hedi Slimane? Saint Laurent uses Lamb Leather so perhaps not as durable and of course they are over $5,000USD.
I’ve owned medium format cameras and the trade off of convenience is not worth the additional quality if you never use the camera . I use my apsc far more then I use my heavy full frame camera 😂😂.
Oh I definitely would! I was in line for one at one point. Right now, I don't quite like how his patterns look. I am not the first person to mention this. The way the shoulders and arms are patterned on his jackets make the arms pull in a strange way and it doesn't look right to me. You can see discussion of this on The Fedora Lounge. Once this gets fixed I will want a jacket from him. Also, if it doesn't bother you, then I recommend his jackets. His stitch quality is absolutely stunning.
awesome video.

I will be making that video soon. I have mentioned some aspects to that in some of my other leather jacket videos.
Love seeing this thing on Instagram, the color is [chef's kiss]
The color is just incredible. It couldn't be better.
Love this jacket. That’s why I ended up with one :) In terms of the moleskin, look into Brisbane moss fabrics. Their loden is pretty close.
Oh nice you have this same model? Very cool! I'll check them out thanks

@@jociaszamora2267 unfortunately a 36 would definitely be too small in this one. Even 38 might be small sadly. Thanks for the tip though!
hey hey hey really nice jacket!!!
Haha you might recognize it ;)

Are you planning on reviewing some of your RMC jackets in the future?
I do plan on reviewing the rmc jacket that I still have and will also discuss the ones I used to have as well
Great Video. Being a Light Colored Horsehide what Conditioner if any would you use?
Thank You

Yeah I definitely want to do more discussion on full outfit consideration. Thanks! The whole outfit matters!
How do you benchmark Himel Bros vs Freewheelers ans Real McCoys? Leather quality, patterning, construction, value for example?
I think Himel's patterns are unbelievably good. I think they're better than RMC having owned multiple of both brands. Plus, he does bespoke measurements so that's a huge bonus. Leather quality is equal. Construction quality is slightly below, but the bonus of being bespoke outweighs that IMO.
@@almostvintagestyle Thank you very much for your answer!
What‘s your opinion on addict clothes in terma of quality and craftmanships?
They seem solid on quality, not the absolute best, but if you like the styles and the patterns fit you, they should be good.
What's your opinion on Fine Creek Leather jackets? In quality and craftsmanship?
Not a fan. The quality is fine, but they don't have the pattern or material quality of other brands such as Freewheelers, Rainbow Country, Thedi, Himel, etc.
@@almostvintagestyle that's disappointing, seeing that I'm in love with my brown Leon Custom jacket. I*ll keep my mind open to these other brands
@Almost Vintage Style Why do you say stay away from The Flat Head?
Quality not as good?
Leather not as good?
Leather is great, but quality is a bit lower and the patterns are only suitable for a small number of people

Beautiful jacket
Thank you very much!
@@almostvintagestyle no problem
Is it very soft to the touch?
The leather? Not compared to other leathers such as deerskin.

What kind of hat are you wearing?! Thanks
It's an Optimo Hat. I'm actually selling it right now
Hey Jake, FW san mateo vs la brea?
Love both. The San Mateo is more 'out there' and I think I slightly prefer the La Brea, but they're both amazing if you csn find either of them.
Thank you sir!
@@almostvintagestyle Freewheels I have both San Mateo and La Brea jackets.
May I ask for an ID on short sleeve red shirt you have? I think it's chambray.
That one is by Roy Slaper
Love your videos, but I gotta say, it's weird to see someone wear a hat indoors.
I just love hats haha
