Hey George, did You see the documentary made about half mastering the Police records? Miles Showell gives an insight to the machinery and the room... And having to painstakingly sit and supervise the process... Where he hears it at half speed obviously. He made a comment about spotting drummers timing but how Copeland was very very good.
Hi Scott! Thanks for taking us through your Abbey Road Half Speed Masters! Impressed by the Live At Leeds 3x LP set and all the other albums you've shown Brian Eno, Cream, Stones, Amy Winehouse. There's a Netflix documentary about The Tragically Hip, I still need to watch it, but I hear lots of good things about it, called Long Time Running. Will keep an eye on any Abbey Road Half Speed Recordings once I'm out of lockdown and be able to visit record stores. ~ Shaun (NowSpinningTV) 🇦🇺
Hi George, Thanks for sharing. I have a few of the Abbey Road half speeds. I'm not a fan of 45 RPM reissues, so have avoided those. Unless it's a must have, I'll trade convenience over the extra dynamics of 45s. I have Dusty in Memphis, Exile and Scott 4. I think they are great for quality and very good for sound (just fall short of audiophile but what do I know), so are good value. I need to seek out the Amy Winehouse, that looked lovely. Take care Dale
Hey George. I think I must have that full Live At Leeds on CD. Would be cool to have that half speed master. Nice package. I'm regretting not getting all the Eno's they did. Exile is fantastic. Is that the original Dusty In Memphis cover? I had to look it up. The US original is different but that is the UK original cover. I wasn't aware of that. Scott 4 is amazing. Cheers!
I've been wanting to pick up that Amy Winehouse Abbey Road version. How's the pressing ? I've got an earlier one and it's so noisey. So I'd love an upgrade!
Cool video George. Those Abbey Road half mastered pressings must sound amazing and nice varied selection of LPs. I especially liked how you showed Amy Winehouse and The Specials back to back since they both do renditions of Monkey Man. Cheers! - Matt
Hi George. This was fun to see these fixed possessions. I have been digging into buying these type of quality pressings. Really incredible packaging.
Hi Steve they are great value for what they are. Thanks for watching.
Great post George, the Exile on main street is on my urgent purchase list 👍👍
Fab lp Mathew. Thanks for watching.
