Hey, Riley, you filmed me surreptitiously. I don't mind, since I am a "nice old man," who is now subscribed. Keep at it.

Top notch video, Riley, you're getting better and better, really cinematic pictures. Just returned from my trip to Switzerland, slept 5 days above 2000 metres in my van, can feel what you experienced, all alone at those heights with freezing temperatures. CU from the Netherlands, waiting for your next video!

Our little 2.2L WBX was really down on power at 10.5k feet in Utah a few weeks ago! That altitude really zapps the hp!

Did you bore it to 2.2? If so would you recommend it?

@@jakefischer8281 It was built by Rocky Jennings out in Walla Walla, Wa. He took my 2.1 and rebuilt it to a 2.2L adding custom cam, ratio rockers, etc. If I were to do it again, I would have done his 2.3L but was a bit concerned with Portland emissions testing with the bigger cam in the 2.3L.

I bet haha. I can usually do passes at 60 pretty easy but up in Tahoe going over rose mountain I believe? I was second gear full throttle at like 9k feet😂 it’s crazy how big of a difference the thinner air makes with these super low power to weight vehicles.

How long does your van usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days?

2-3 business days😂 it’s wildly inconsistent actually. I’ve had it fire up instantly after not being used for a while in below freezing temps and I’ve had it not start and have to use a jumper pack in the summer after it just sat overnight and every other possibility in between.

Thanks for your reply. Does it usually fire up first try in the morning or need a bit of cranking? What's it like pulling up a really steep hill with a cold engine?
